I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but I'm very new to the forum and couldn't find what i was looking for.
I picked up the official Skylanders Strategy Guide (and looked on here) and it talks of chapters 17, 18, 19 and 20.
I've completed the game on normal, but have no idea where these chapters are! how do i access them?
Thanks for your help, and again, if this has been posted somewhere else before, i apologize for the repeat.

They're the Adventure packs.

These four levels are the Adventure Packs from Spyro's Adventure. You can unlock the levels by using the same item from Spyro's Adventure. The levels are the exact same as in Spyro's Adventure, but the enemies are different, using the enemies from Giants.

I've borrowed my nephew's Adventure packs. Question is, must my son always have these figures to be able to play chapters 17-20, or are they now unlocked and I can return them?

They are now unlocked. You can give them back to your nephew.

Okay, gonna go ahead and assume you aren't trolling... If you are, get a life. As the previous person shared a picture, you have that, so I'll give a description. The Adventure Packs came out for Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. Each adventure pack comes with 1 Skylander figure (as far as I know, NONE of them were available outside of the Adventure Packs before 1 or 2 were re-released with Giants), 2 Magic Items and a Location item. The Magic Items do something special when placed on the portal. For example, the Magic Elixir Potion slowly heals, the Ghost Swords are an automatic attack which fights by your side for a limited time. The location item, when placed on the portal in the Hub world (the Ruins in SSA, the Dread Naught/Flynn's Ship in Giants), adds a level in the Chapter Select screen, as the topic of this thread indicates they land as levels 17 to 20 in Giants. These levels are large stand-alone bonus levels which aren't part of the main storyline. When placed on the portal during a level, they act as a LARGE mega-attack, damaging everybody on screen, ending in a big pow of 999 damage. Like most of the Magic Items, it can only be used once per playthrough of level (actually, the other magic items you can use while you need, then remove them to save some of the usage time for later in the level).

LOL! Yes, I figured, but I was just checking.
Yeah, in SSA they add new parts to the Ruins. Darklight Crypt adds itself - looking the same as the toy - in the back left, behind the ruined temple structure over the Core Of Light apparatus, Dragon's Peak adds a dragon-shaped horn to the outlook formation next to where Persephone lives, Pirate Seas adds itself - a pirate ship - to the docks, and Empire Of Ice adds itself - a castle of ice - to the water by Gurglefin's ship. Empire Of Ice can only be accessed by water guys or other guys who can cross water, but that's okay since it comes with Slam Bam, a water type himself (also, SSA comes with Gill Grunt, who is also water and can also get to it). In SSA you have to walk into/use the new parts of the Ruins the first time, after which they're just in the Chapter Select screen.

Ah, okay, hadn't realized you haven't played SSA yet, LOL! Or I didn't remember.
You know how in Giants you're on Flynn's Ship between levels? And on the ship you can smash crates for money, visit the fairy Persephone to get upgrades, talk to Cali to do Heroic Challenges, talk to Flynn to continue to the next level, etc. etc.? Since it's a central home base area, it can be called the hub world. Well in SSA instead of a ship it's a large island - parts of which are locked at first with gates and stuff. If you go towards the screen from where you start there's a staircase down to a beach and some docks, etc. If you go left instead, that's where Persephone hangs out after you meet her. I was just describing where the locations appear in this hub world - The Ruins. When you're very early in the game, only Darklight Crypt is in an area you can access normally, but I believe I added two of them - Empire Of Ice and Pirate Seas - when I couldn't get to their area yet, and the game just opened the area for me early to let me access them. Also I was saying what they look like in the game. Dragon's Peak - the toy - looks like this castle-thing, but in the game it's a dragon-shaped horn. The rest look like their figures.

it wouldve been nice if they re-released the adventure packs WITHOUT the character in giants so if people got like series 2 for their SSA game they wouldnt be able to get the soul gem so then they could buy the pirate seas without
