Noticing Sybil eyeing the collar, Sayan continued his story... "A-After I spent some time in the forest, some humans f-found me and c-captured me. I was c-caged, c-collared, and sold to someone of vast wealth. My m-master and owner was quite c-cruel and a-abusive." Besides the collar, several scars were also visible if one looked close enough. Some appeared to be more recent, while others appeared to run much deeper."I-It took time, but I f-finally managed to e-escape and c-come back here. I w-wasn't planning on coming back, but my recent e-experience has c-convinced me otherwise." It was obvious that the Amur leopard was deeply effected by all this, both physically and emotionally.

Chica was silent, and confused. Mambo says a lot of confusing things, that contradict easier comments. "I think this should end by you being nicer"

Royal left the Outback soon after Rose left him. He land beside Jaerl again and stands silently beside him but he watches all of them. His golden eyes make his silence all the more frightening.

Back at my tree however I get back to my designated sleeping place and lay down. The pain that I feel is terrible. I do not cry out in agony but rivers of tears and my pained expression tells it all. Though I try to be brave for my new friend, Skaliscin.

"It was a good thing that an orca found you. Killer whales? Yeah right. I don't know what I would do without them." Sybil innocently commented, unaware of their gruesome way of killing prey. "Anyway, the past is the past, and now, what we need to do is take that junk out of your neck..." Sybil said, thinking things through. That collar looked like it was made with very hard material, so she was afraid to tighten it up more if she tried to take it off... Yeah! It looks like Sybil had the kea's first job...

"Mambo....." Rose said faintly under her crying. "I-I never....ment to h-hurt you. It's just.......just...." Rose paused. "Wh-what you said about me.....th-they a-are....." She gained the courage to say what she had to. "They are true. They are all ture. I should of been nicer to you, I should of never been so mean to you." Rose thought about her mother. "I'm sorry momy" She wispered to herself. "I'm so sorry for everything that I did."

"Come on now little diva, enough with the waterworks. You're a tiger, you should be above all that!" Mambo said to Rose after she apologized. Either he was insensible or he wanted Rose to be hardy and violent? It was very hard to tell...

"does it matter if you're the way your species work?" Chica asked. everybody's different...

Sayan sighed, "As much as I would appreciate it, you might not be able to. Besides, it was my fault for my leaving. It's not your responsibility." Still feeling guilty for leaving in the first place, he didn't want to burden Sybil anymore then he had to.

Sybil didn't listen. She just looked around... until she devised a kea. "Excuse me. I need a little help here please." she asked the parrot.

"Oh, it's you. What is it, I am in a hurry. I am looking for my brother Cole. He seemed pretty upset when he talked to me." the female kea replied, but she was willing to lend some help before resuming her look for him...

Sayan commented, "I ran into an particularly angry kea on my way here. It might be the one you're looking for..." Sayan motioned towards the general direction of said kea, revealing his collar to the female kea in the process.

Chicago can't help but smile, there was just something in his attitude that was annoying, but good. "I'm going hunting" Chicago said, "make yourself at home" she said, and went out to look for some prey.

Skaliscin turned her head to AJ as he left. Noticing the extreme discomfort he was going through, she slithered by his side, helping him reach his abode. When the injured margay laid down, she pushed some of the bedding closer around him, making it act as a nest. The leaves rustled softly as they brushed past each other. The serpent remained there, her face blank. But despite her emotionless expression, she emanated tranquility, even joy.

Voracivenom remained silent during the whole exchange between Sybil, the wolf, and the leopard. However, their mention and the sudden appearance of a particular bright green bird startled him.
"I'm going to assume that these... 'keas', as you mentioned are here to help the resedents?" he interjected. While he was asking this, he was glancing at the female kea that had arrived, but with interest rather than suspicion or dislike.

Speckles decided to continue his way when the red wolf didn't reply. He happened to see Skaliscin escort a resident up a tree. What was the creature's name... Arigy? Arjeal?
His antenna twitched, and he stealthily following them up the tree's trunk, curious and... was that suspicion marked on his expression? Not that something like that wasn't normal, but still...

I try my best to ignore the pain but am unable to. Instead I gently stroke my friend's scales. I want her to be happy and feel not so alone. I only do it for a few minutes not wanting her to feel uncomfortable. Tears fall down my face as I slowly fall back to sleep, due to exhaustion despite all the pain.

"That must be him. He didn't tell me what happened, but he seemed upset." the female kea replied. "Say Sybil, I heard our leader Mambo got some poor treatment from some of your guests here, and I can't shake the feeling the same thing happened to Cole." the then explained, knowing her brother too well and the ill-thoughts most animals had towards keas. Sybil lowered her head with some shame and no reply...

Rose's ears pirked up a little after hearing hat Mambo said. "You're right life is beautiful." She gave a faint smile.

"Hah ha, there you see?? That's better. You'll see, someday you will become a top-feared predator looking for justice and the protection of her friends." Mambo suggested with a lot of enthusiasm. Based on his attitue, he seemed to really like Rose, reason why she was picking with her in the first place. But why her specifically? Another difficult answer.

Sayan merely listened 'till he had a question. "How many kea are here?," he asked. He knew about that one kea and now that's kea's sister, but there were apparently more.

"We are less than a hundred, but more than fifty. Were moving all the time, so we don't know." the female kea answered. Neither of the keas took the bother of counting the members. They were a pretty disorganized bunch.

Hmm... they must have showed up after I left., Sayan thought. The leopard merely responded, "I see... thank-you."

Mambo liked this display of care, but he soon decided to maintain his pride "Ok ok, enough love little dudette. It's good to be soft, but not this much." he excused, pushing Rose aside in a very gentle way. "Well then, I hope your friend the wolf hunts something good. I am starving!" he changed the subject, feeling his hunger and showing no interest in getting his own food.

"Well now, first things first. Let's get that hunk of junk off your neck. No piece of human garbage is a challenge for us." the kea assured after flying on his back to start pecking the collar. It was budging, but the material was so hard it could take a while...

Sayan slightly and slowly shook his head, "Unfortunately, this ain't your average hunk of junk. My m-master was quite rich and apparently alot of that went into the sturdiness of this stupid collar." He sighed... It truly was a bad idea to leave the haven.

"I will tear up this... thing, even if the last thing I do!" the now annoyed kea said, determined to destroy that collar at any cost. If keas were known for something, it was their over-reactive stubbornness...

Sayan merely sighed and thought for a moment. Then an idea popped in his mind, "Wait a moment... no matter of pecking is going to destroy this pesky thing. I remember it snapping together and it being composed of two parts attached by some mechanism. Try focusing your efforts on that and maybe it'll fail..." Such a mechanism was located on the back part of the collar and enough pressure could release it. The front part was quite solid and had his name engraved upon it.

"You mean this?" the kea asked, pointing to where the collar divided. "That collar will disappear either the easy way or the hard way. If there is something we keas do better is destroying stupid human artifacts like these." she then assured. She was really determined to tore that collar, and this time, the beak was doing more pressure, and she was using her claws as well...

Sayan slightly nodded, "Yeah... that seems to be it." As the not-as-solid mechanism was being pecked at, eventually a hole formed and the interior components starting receiving damage. As the beak and claws got further into it, they apparently reached an electronic component and whole collar received a light shock. The leopard was effected most and he flinched as a result. "Keep going...", the leopard muttered through the ever-increasing shocks. The resulting shock gradually increased as they got closer and closer to releasing the (partly electronic) mechanism.

"What in this huge world's name is this ideotic thing made of>!" the kea complained, not noticing that the collar was budging more and more. She was desperate now, she started to use both of her claws and using her wings to pull it, pulling Sayan along and accidentally slapping him with her wings.

"No, no wait WAIT!" Sybil yelled, noticing that if the anxious kea kept that up, she might choke him or tightened up the collar more, but she didn't listen...

Sayan suddenly started begging, "Please, stop!... You're..." It was too late, however, and the leopard began to choke from the now tightened collar. If they didn't release or loosen the collar soon, the leopard would likely lose consciousness or worse. The actual mechanism, itself, was almost to the point of breakage.

Jaerl and Royal stand together talking to one another. Ivor pops out of the ground beside Sybil and politely bows. With a smile on his face he talks.

"The sanctuary is complete m'lady and is rock solid. I am exhausted and am going to go take a nap, if you need anything, I'll be in that burrow over there, she says pointing a group of trees.

The elephant brother patrol the borders of the Haven keeping watch to make sure that no one threatens their new home.

Jaerl upon looking back as Sayan remembers about me but knows that I cannot move due to my injuries. He also remembers all the scars all over my body and cringes. Those humans really had hurt me. Sayan was lucky, I was not.

"My goodness, what in the saint's name is going... Cheryl!!! What do you think you're doing!?" a deep and firm voice could be heard. It was Cole, her brother. He could see the weird commotion, poor Sayan choking, Cheryl pulling the collar and Sybil biting her tail feathers trying to pull her away from Sayan.

"ENOUGH!" Cole yelled, enough to make both Sybil and Cheryl back off. "You're massacre him. Darn it Cheryl, you gotta be careful!" he scolded, while looking at Sayan's collar. He was afraid the wound could make him bleed, but luckily, he managed to loosen up the collar in order for Sayan to breathe again. He was now carefully inspecting the collar...

"My momy back at my original home told me to be nice and caring to all living creatures and it's not in my nature to be mean unless I have to." Rose said. "Heh, heh I'm shure she'll find something." She was geting a little hungry herself.

"Your real mother? Its strange for a predator to have that way of thought." Mambo said, thinking of predators as just merciless meat-eaters, when he realized, hey, he was a kea. Keas eat meat too. Silly him.

With the collar loosened again, Sayan breathed heavy sighs and muttered "T-Thank-you..." While the front part of the collar mostly looked the same (abeit the peck marks), the back part was quite damaged. A hole was visible where the mechanism was apparently housed and interior components were a mess. It was evident that the bird has managed to claw and beak its way to an electronic component. Most of of the wires (and other things) were already broken with only a few remaining.

"Hmm... no wonder, an electronic collar. And a very well-made one I must say. Not even our beaks can completely cut through. But... I think I have an idea." Cole suggested, still inspecting the collar. He wasn't all muscles like everyone thought, he also was a vast thinker.

"Listen, thanks to my dear sister here..." he looked at her with a scolding grin, "...the mechanical mechanism is damaged. It works by a code that could take forever to guess. But with that mechanism damaged, the collar should budge eventually. I know it bothers you, but we cannot risk talking off the collar by force. We must wait until the collar budges off by itself. In the meantime, you must learn to live with it until it loosens." Cole suggested, being very careful with his chosen words.

Still short of breath, the poor Amur leopard merely nodded and passed out due to exhaustion/shock/etc. Heavy breaths could be heard from Sayan and the damaged collar occasionally sparked. Before losing consciousness, the leopard glanced at Cole with a rather thankful look.

"And you're not so rude after all. Mambo commented, although secretly hoping he didn't scew up again. He then changed the mood. "Let's go little tiger. This place gives me the creeps. Let's head back to the forest." the crazed parrot suggested, carrying Rose off by the shoulders with his talons...

Intimidated a little by him, Sybil pointed out to the Outback. Whatever their business was, it must has something to do with his anger earlier, but she didn't dare to ask. That kea was very scary, he looked more like an eagle than a parrot.

Royal walks toward them.

"If you will allow me I could slash through those remaining wire and then the Kea, not have to worry about shocking you or choking you. It would be quick and fast. I dare not do anything more for my talons are far too dangerous."

Chica was close by, dragging fairly large prey. The smell of mambo and rose mingled with the smell of the prey. you can never look out for danger with your nose when you got prey she thought, nearly mumbling it out loud.

Passed out and unconscious on the ground, Sayan had no response. This would, however, be the perfect opportunity to try such a thing.

Royal walks over to Sayan and carefully places his talon into the back and slashes. The wires are sliced in half and the collar falls from Sayan's neck. Letting it fall to the ground, Royal returns to Jaerl's side.

"See I told you it would work," he says with a smile and a glint in his eyes.

Skalscin didn't flinch as AJ stroked her scales. She was much more comfortable with the affection, and she managed to flash a toothy, yet obviously forced smile at him. When the maygay fell asleep, she quietly took her leave, slithering once more down the tree's trunk. As she went down, however, she felt an extra weight on her tail.
"S-s-speckles-s-s," she stated flatly. It was a greeting, despite its emotionless tone.
"I see you found a new friend," the invertebrate replied from behind.
Skaliscin turned her head around as she reached the forest floor, seeing Speckles clinging to the scales at her tail tip. She noticed that he wore a slight frown.
"Hey, don't give me that look! I s-s-saw you hanging out with Royal all this-s-s time!" the serpent retorted, giving her minuscule companion the stink eye.
Speckles's scowl wavered for a moment, but then only deepened. "True."

Voracivenom only watched in silence. However, when the collar loosened and fell from the leopard's neck, he slowly approached the human device, his tail dragging behind him. His eyes scanned the artifact's surface with curiosity.

"You again?! Why of all the impertinent..." Cole suddenly said in anger, but stopped when he realized that wasn't the snake that threatened him earlier. "Another one of these black-headed snake. Seriously, how many more of these do you have?" he asked to Sybil, still with the same tone of voice...

"Oh... was she harsh to you?" Voracivenom asked with the same calmness he possessed the entire time he was here. He didn't seem offended in any way towards the kea. "What did she say?"

"She threatens." was Cole's only answer. Seeing the serpent that calm made him calm too. Maybe he wasn't rude like the female lowlife he met.

"Oh..." That seemed to make sense to him. "Did you say something that might have offended her?" Voracivenom was now facing the kea, looking up at him. Still no sign of malevolence.

"I just told her she was a cold-blooded animal because barely meeting me and she was very rude to me. I believe she is a racist that believes the kea reputation. Besides, reptiles are cold-blooded animals anyway." Cole calmly explained, but then went back to his uneasy attitude.

"Why am I telling you this!? You will probably take her side too, like everyone in this forsaken Haven has done. She was the one being rude to me, and yet everyone took her side! You think that's fair!?" Cole yelled, remembering the even and still infuriated by it...

Voracivenom drew back slightly. He tensed up, but relaxed just as quickly.
"She must have took you're statement the wrong way," he stated with a nod of confirmation. "We serpents tend to think differently from birds."

"Typical." was Cole's only answer. "You know, I could have forgive and forget, but when the other members of this Haven butt in our discussion, well, that was just too much. Mambo may tolerate this abuse, but I won't! Tell him to find another bodyguard Sybil, cause Cheryl and I are leaving!" he commented looking at the civet. She and his sister tried to convinced him otherwise, but he was just too stubborn and hurt about the others meddling in what was suppose to be an argument between Skaliscin and him only.

"Oh goodie, I really hope there is some lamb meat..." but Mambo got quiet after saying that. Looking around, he really doubted there were sheep on that cryptic island...
