Ok, so in a last ditch effort to find this elusive Boomer character, my kid and I went on the "Hunt for Red Boomtober" yesterday and hit up some Walgreens in my area. Right off the bat I'll let you guys know that unfortunately we were not successful in finding his Boominess (however we got lots of candy LOL).


In the handful of Walgreens we visited, the characters that we found for SSA in single packs (they only sell single packs) were:

Dino Rang
Hex
Cynder
Warnado
Camo
Lightning Rod
Zook
Stealth Elf
Sonic Boom


So if any of you guys are looking for one of these ones...Walgreens is a good way to go.

I wish when people were looking for characters they would post here more often. This is the second time I have sold/found a character that somebody really wanted only to see a post like this right after. All of my old skylanders from the first game were just sitting in a box (including Boomer) so I just sold them a couple days ago. I wish you luck on finding one, he is a fun character.

Walgreens can also be a good place to find singles of new characters. I checked one yesterday and it hada couple Fright Riders.

Where do they have them in Walgreens? One of my local ones cut down the toy section to a few hot wheels and some bouncy balls. (they replaced it all with pet junk)
Are they in the electronics section?

Mine currently has Hex and Zook. Is Zook hard to get and is he fun to play?

Zook S1 as of now is pretty hard to find and is pretty fun.

S2 Zook can be hard to find also.

officemax has skylanders,might wanna check there too.

Does anyone else remember the pegs full of nothing but Boomers back in ye olden days?

What I wouldn't give to have a time machine. I'd go back, buy 'em all, then bring them to today and list them on eBay.

Well, I got REALLY lucky yesterday, finding a Boomer at Jenkinsons Boardwalk. Only 12,000 points!

I never saw a single pack boomer in any stores around me. And I only ever saw 2-3 triple packs.

Boomer was kind of like how Swarm is for Giants. Currently, you can find Swarm just about anywhere you go. However, 6 months when Swap Force comes out..... You will be lucky to find him.

Boomer and Wrecking Ball were total peg warmers everywhere I went. I thought it was the same for everyone. That's why it was such a big joke when Frito Lay sent out Boomers and Wrecking Balls to all the contest winners...

Got super lucky today. Went to 3 Walgreens and got Ignitor, Camo, Warnado and Voodood!

They can be hard to find in some. The one I went to had one row and they were kinda hidden.

They sell them for 10.99 too so that's the main downside.

The Giants figures I saw yesterday were priced at 11.99.

Did this last weekend, found camo and dino rang. Still no luck for boomer. Wish i joined skylanders when he was everywhere. If anyone sees boomer, I need 4 of him. One for my brother, one for wife, one for son and one for myself.

I painted mine, and I was actually owed about 3-4 more "random figures".

Right after I saw some of the prices shoot up on ebay I was like "Oh god why didn't I pursue them? Why did I paint my Booomer!? WHAT HAVE I DONE"

Man...You probably just missed them. They're so easy to miss unless you look hard for them cuz they are NOT hung up on the hooks. They are set directly on a shelf usually on the 2nd or 3rd shelf from the ground. They are so easy to miss if you don't bust out a full-on forensic on the toy aisle...My knees hurt after the first few stores from bending down. Ha ha. Rest assured though, every one I went to had them though-usually between 3-5 of them....and not one of them hung them. Every toy was on a shelf.

Funny thing was the price variations...I saw everything from 9.99 to 10.49 to 11.99. Walgreens is all over the place. LOL

There's no doubt we would have had Boomer if our household had jumped on during the SSA run...but we're "started with Giants and went backwards" folk...so that was never an option and I've never seen a Boomer in person from Black Friday 2012 (when we first bought Giants) to now.

Those freaking in-game soul gem advertisements are just twisting the knife BTW. Those things are what get my kid all jazzed up for a character...Marketing genius for sure. Ha ha.

is boomer actually worth anything? i have two extra new in box (got from the frito lay thing). and they are just kinda sitting here in a box (along with 6 ssa wrecking balls).

There were some others but sadly no Boomer or Zap I may check again this weekend

no one denied he was hard to find. I'm just doubting it is the hardest.

I've got to agree. I've come across all of these other guys but never Boomer. If it wasn't for that toysrus castle thing then I'd say Wham Shell is the rarest. But Boomer gets that spot.

I've never seen Boomer in a single, but I've frequently seen a few of them in triple packs at the TRU stores near me. I've never seen Wham Shell outside of that castle box thing that TRU sells.

I've also never seen Skylanders figures at a Walgreens. Not sure if I'm not looking hard enough, or if it's because I've only been checking the Walgreens near my office in downtown San Francisco.

Says the free market. You can try to make a case for others, but that case kind of falls to pieces when Boomer continues to sell for double the price of the next most expensive figure.

A great place to get some SSA characters is Hastings as well, I know I saw a boomer and a voodoos there.

I don't think you can really go by price to see who's rare. That just means he's in demand - which makes sense, since there's no Series 2 version of him - he's just more in demand.

In demand doesn't mean rare...

So Voodood isn't in demand? Or Wham Shell?

I appreciate the devil's advocate, but you're speaking in hypotheticals and I'm talking about the actual situation. At least, I hope that's it. I hope you're not actually trying to tell me that Boomer isn't the rarest standard S:SA single. That would just be silly.

I don't have access to production numbers, so I'm not really at liberty to claim one figure is more rare than another.

I'm just saying that price is a reflection of demand *and* rarity. It's why a cart-only copy of Zelda 1 for the NES goes for more than a cart-only copy of Barker Bill's Trick Shooting, even though there was millions of LoZ printed and only a few hundred thousand copies of BBTS.

I've found Voodood at 5 different Walgreen's, plus at Target, within the past 3 months

I found a Zap, Dino Rang, Hex 3 pack today.

Saw original Flameslinger. They were not located by the toys but close to the cosmetics. Weird, never thought to look at Walgreens.

I still have a wrecking ball 3 pack that I was going to return. I got it free with a skylanders backpack for 19.99. If that's rare maybe I'll hold onto it.

Checked a walgreens today I never go to, found 1 zook s1 and hex s1, left them both there. Didn't want them.


Boomer and Ghost Roaster i says are the rarest because they are no longer made and because they don't have a s2 ppl can buy. Collectors will want the s1 for their collection, a parent who wants the toy cause their kid wants it is just going to get the series 2. Now if all s1 skylanders had no series 2 and all giants era were new characters then some others might be rare.

As for whamshell, I see him everywhere around here and he can also be had in the castle playset/case thingy so he's not hard hard, he has the option to be bought at a local store much more then finding a boomer/ghost roaster adventure pack.

Yeah; for Boomer, he is the hardest character to get. Hands down. I had to result to online shopping for him.
