So when we heard MHD was going to be a Walmart exclusive, we all assume it would be like GITD Sonic Boom. Well it seems like that's not the case. These are definitely harder to find than Sonic Boom. Is Walmart expecting more shipments?

Funny thing a few weeks back the Walmart by me had 192 on display and they were all gone within 3 to 4 days. Yikes and I have not seen him since and I have 8 Walmarts within 15 miles of my house. I think he is going to be hard to find. Good luck.

with every walmart exclusive, they get a big batch, then they sell out, then they get another big batch, and then sell out. its taken months sometimes for restock but its always restocked. the thing about the GITD sonic boom was they like stored up a bunch for the black friday thing. so they had a lot just sitting in their back room way before it was time to sell them

also i really enjoy molten hot dog, i think he looks really good in yellow and orange, and he looks good in the game too.

I am going to have 1 of everything. someday...

...wait, they're rare?
When I found out about them I drove like a half hour to the nearest walmart and they had like 6 of them. I got one for my 7 year old brother because he likes variants. I had no idea they were rare.

There's a few major differences between MHD and GitD Sonic Boom.

MHD is a "unique" in-game character.
MHD is a variant on a character that had just barely started getting a wide release, was only in a $25 package and isn't a series 2 character.
MHD *looks* cool. I don't much care for the looks of the GitD characters. This is, of course, opinion - but one that seems to be shared.
MHD is a better in-game character than Sonic Boom. Again, opinion... but one that seems shared. MHD has flaming bags of poo.

the only relevant points here re: MHD availability are the first 2. Since MHD is an in-game character, Activision is going to make an effort to keep the supply up to meet demand, since many gamer-types feel entitled to everything available on disc. GitD SB is just a variant toy however.

I got two of the three I need. I'm not too worried as there are a couple Walmarts close enough with them, but the one in my town is yet to have any.

I went to walmart.com and ordered one. There's free shipping to the store, or you can pay to ship it right to your house. It was the easiest HTF Skylander I've bought yet.

Molten Hot Dog is not only an in-game variant, he is an in-game variant of a brand new character who is quite difficult to find as opposed to GITD Sonic Boom who is not only not an in-game variant, but is also a re-pose and the regular re-pose is readily available in single and triple pack form. At the moment it is unsurprising that he would sell out quickly. But once Hot Dog becomes more common, this situation may change.

I missed getting MHD @ my Walmart, and every time I ask an electronics employee, the universal response is "Durrr.... You mean Hot Head?" Then I show them the sign (right next to the figure display) and they say, "Oh. Durrrr... I never seen that one." I ask when they'll get more (since it's unavailable online, now), and am told "Um... I dunno. They just ship us stuff & we've got a lot of back-stock already, so just keep checking."

...Incredibly frustrating.

I'm waiting outside my Target before they open on Sunday so I'm sure to get Jade Flashwing, at least... I already have a standard one, and would rather get MHD since I don't care about the Scorpion Striker, and have (and don't really care for, gameplay-wise) Series 1 Zap.

I love the pick up at store option. Always nice to KNOW the product is waiting for you (not wasting a trip) and saving the bucks on shipping. Try to do it whenever I can.

The first time I looked, they had about 20 on the shelf (about 3 weeks ago).
The next time I saw some, (last Friday) it wasn't in their regular electronics section.
They have a special seasonal section with Skylanders in their Easter section near the front of the store (usually).
They had about 8 on the shelf when I saw it last week. not all walmarts have them, but most I've seen do.
I usually hate going into Walmarts, but I've gone to several over the past 2 months on various skylander hunts.
