Support Spyro to be in PS All-Stars! [CLOSED]

Greetings members of the DarkSpyro forum!

It seems a lot of people are wanting our purple dragon in the game PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. If you don't know what that is, it's a party brawler for PS3/PSVita that has characters from Kratos from God of War to Parappa the Rapper. But the most requested characters were Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. We've started a movement to have Activision include them into the game as DLC. I'm happy to say that it's starting to work by requesting and demanding Spyro and Crash for All-Stars on Activision Assist's Facebook and Twitter Pages. On behalf of the Official PlayStation All-Stars forum, we'd love to get as many people in on this. Tweet @ATVIAssist and request Spyro and Crash for DLC. Activision support is forwarding the requests and fan ideas to the appropriate parties at Activision. #ListentothefansActivision We have a campaign going on, the more people helping out the better.

You can go on the Official PlayStation Forum and find our Community Forum under PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

No petitions, but if you have Twitter or FB. MessagingActivision Support would be really helpful. And also dread the news if you are connected in other such socials.

A lot of fans have done stuff like this, and Spyro still didn't appear in All-Stars.

I don't know... with Sony dropping Super-Bot and bringing all remaining DLC in-house through Santa Monica Studios, I'm not expecting very much for All-Stars in the future, to be honest. <.<;

Well, even if Spyro were to get in, I have a feeling he would be the Skylanders version. I mean, the DmC version of Dante was chosen, despite his lack of popularity. And Ratchet & Clank have their cartoonier designs from All 4 One, which also didn't sit well with fans of the games. <.<;

It's been nearly ten years since a classic Spyro game has been released on console, surely they would make at least one for the PS4?

If another Spyro other than Skylanders Spyro is chosen, you'll have to put up with it.

I really wouldn't mind which Spyro the put in them game, but combat wise classic( Shadow Legacy) or legend Spyro would be better the Skylanders Spyro.

Ratchet and Clank had alternate costumes that were based on other games, e.g. Crack in Time.

Seeing as every character has at least three costumes, they could just put Classic, Legend, and Skylanders Spyro in as different costumes. Pleases everybody.

As for the chances of them getting in, it's up in the air again. Though Activision would be fools not to let these characters in. They'd permanently paint themselves as the Grinch of the industry.

Because he wasn't the Playstation mascot alongside Crash in the PS1 days, as well as a carrier of the system in it's later years. And he totally isn't a household name.

Also, I'm pretty sure Spyro 1 was the first 3D game to ever have rolling hills, among other things. That game set a few standards regarding 3D graphics.

I'm sorry, but I kind of think that's rubbish, there's only a two year gap, and there was some competition between the two. And Spyro was originally for the PlayStation, and what do you mean that he isn't a household name? I don't get what you mean by that.

I think Spyro 1 set more standards than Crash Bandicoot, the levels felt more open, whereas in Crash, you were literally following a straight route.

Bravo101 Yellow Sparx Gems: 1482

It means like, almost every family has spyro, knows about spyro, everyone knows what he is, things like that. Like for an example Lady Gaga would be a household name due to her fame and such, but Spyro doesn't even come close to a household name.

Oh, okay.
Well, in my opinion, I'm not really sure if Spyro is a household name.
I know that from my experience, that many of my friends from my primary school, knew about Spyro, and had Spyro, and a couple of my friends from secondary school did as well. Even a relative of mine has had Spyro.

To be honest, I think it's hard to say whether he is a household name or not.

Well, "Spyro Does a Thing" is kind of a hit, and seems to be the most popular of the "Does a Thing" animations. People do remember Spyro, it's just there is rarely a reason to voice interest so loudly, because something is rarely made.

Yeah, I guess just because something is in the past, doesn't mean that it's been forgotten, right?
Classic Spyro has been given the chance for years now anyway.

...But he literally is a household name. Just like Mario, Sonic, or Megaman. Just because you or your neighbourhood aren't familiar with it (and I doubt you know everyone in your neighbourhood), doesn't mean the whole world doesn't. I know for a fact Spyro is still remembered by many people.

And even if he was just small time, they can still get new people to like him, and these people would assume it's a cool new IP.

Actually it does. And for a while, Spyro did better than Sonic, and was more popular than him. Easily a household name. Why else would he be one of the most requested characters for PS-All Stars?

The game would of sold much better if Crash and Spyro had been in it.

But, I could be just stating that, because it's popular, and their series is so successful without them having to go through severe reboots like Spyro has.

Actually, Sonic has had several reboots, gameplay wise. Story wise though, there's only really been one (Sonic 06 was an attempt at rebooting the franchise but the game was a critical failure, so the game was pretty much retconned).
Heck, in some ways, nearly every Sonic game is a reboot of sorts.
