I don't want Hot Dog or the cannon he comes with, but I do want a Zap! Does anyone know?

Yes he will. Every character will be available in a single pack.

Except Tree Rex, since he was in every game release including Portal Owner's Pack.

The sad thing is, I'd buy a packaged Tree Rex. smilie

I'm there with ya...I bought single pack of Hot Dog and Shroomy for the same reason. Given some folks may start with newer games...it makes sense that perhaps one day they'll offer it up as a single--since getting Giants reposed sounds unlikely in the future.

The worse part is, I bought packed Cynder and will buy a packaged Jet Vac, even though I have them from the Wii, Wii U, 3DS, Blue Wii and iOS bundles. Although two of those Cynders are GitD ones...

I love the packaging myself as well...I have my standalone Cynders too (and soon Jet Vac)

I wish they would come out with a GitD Cynder in a single pack. Why? Because mine that I have has a terrible paint job.

Yeah if we're going completely nuts then let's also include Gnarly, Punch and Royal DT.

With all due respect these conversations drive me nuts. The giants are distributed by activision/TFB through multiple case formats. These are battlepack, triple pack, giants, lightcore, and core figures. At the beginning of the line retailers were given a UPC component listing of all UPC's in each distribution method. This is so these companies can construct PLU/SKU listing for the products allowing for cross referencing in their systems. For the methods of battlepacks, and triplepacks the list was generic and UPC's were assigned products like battlepack 2 and triple pack 5. The breakdowns for giants, core and lightcore figures were named. In the core distribution list there were no UPC's assigned to singles for Zap, Chop Chop and Jet Vac. This is solid confirmation that singles of these characters will never ship as components of the core cases in giants in any wave. The only distinction here is characters not assigned to the lists for core distributions like variants and legendary's can be shipped in their own specific distribution pattern like Granite Crusher, Molten HotDog or Legendary Stealth Elf. Do not expect singles of Zap, Chop Chop and (regular) Jet-Vac to show up in the Giants lineup.

What drives me nuts is that the layman would never know or understand these UPC distribution lists that you assume is "common knowledge", and I've never seen it explained here...please feel free to enlighten us common folk.

With all due respect, of course.

Speaking without scientific knowledge, but rather common sense---if they plan on distributing Cynder in a single back because someone bought the Portal Owner's Pack, it makes sense at least Jet Vac would be available in a single pack. If they also distribute Hot Dog and ShroomBoom individually outside of the Battle Pack it makes sense they would do the same with Chop Chop and Zap.

Of course, common sense and what TFB/Activison actually does is usually mutually exclusive.
