Bought one and I am super happy.

We will get it, just be patient. They area probably alternating the variants between regions, we get Jade and Molten, they have Scarlet and Polar. Last year it was similar with Warnado/Camo and Wham Shell. The US got one set first, the overseas the other. Eventually they swap it up.

I know people like to point to Royal Double Trouble as being region exclusive, but that is unusual. Royal only comes in an iPhone starter pack, and launching that internationally might simply not be part of the plan - getting region approval for the portal might just not be worth the effort.

it was available in lots of other countries, i'm in england and we just got the standard version without royal double trouble

MediaMarkt is a European electronics store. (http://www.mediamarkt.com/)

Which doesn't really help... Mainly as, say, the chance of a PC World/Currys exclusive in the UK (they're our main electronics stores) is pretty low. Though, the US equiv is Best Buy, right? I think that's rather likely. That's going by type of store...

Otherwise, again, Target, WalMart... Best Buy, maybe. (I think they had an exclusive, or am I wrong here?) GameStop as well, could be an option.

UK wise, Tesco, Asda. Maybe Game/Argos.

So yeah, I think, keep an eye out for those stores, if they get her in. Seems rather likely, right? (Also, you could knock down the list slightly by removing the ones which have Jade Flashwing and Molten Hot Dog, giving you a smaller range.

Well, given that we have Legendary Lightcore Chill, Molten Hot Dog and Jade Flashwing in the US and a few places in Europe have Polar Whirlwind. TFB is inadvertently encouraging trading between regions. Sounds like if you do have access to a Polar Whirlwind you could probably set up a decent trade for one of the variants you don't have there - then everyone wins. I for one would be happy to trade one of the US variants straight up for a Polar, simply to avoid the wait - and I am sure many others would as well.

Polar Whirlwind is nice. The box art and the paint job on the figure are both pretty in my opinion.

Given that Molten Hot Dog, Legendary Chill, and Jade Flashwing are confirmed USA store exclusives for WalMart, TRU, and Target, respectively, does it make sense to presume that Polar Whirlwind will be exclusive to one of the other major retailers (GameStop, Best Buy, or Amazon)?

Scarlet Ninjini is Amazon exclusive, so Polar must be GameStop.

TFB really isn't being an ymore secretive than their usual releases. It is most likely That the deal has yet to be finalized for that region OR the store is figuring when is the best time to put it out. It seems like Target got the deal on Jadewing and linked it to St. Patrick's Day and, had it not been for some flubs, it would have remained a secret until then.

The Target exclusive for Jade had nothing to do with St. Patricks Day. The timing co-incided closely with the other wave 4 releases. Target could have released it earlier, but wanted to promote her the last two weeks of March leading up to Easter, which are both very strong weeks for Toy and Video game sales. There is over 50 million copies of the Weekly Ad printed, and Target has over 1700 stores. They need a little more lead time to make sure everything sets the right way for a promotion like this. Other retailers who don't have that kind of reach with a Weekly ad can remain a little more secretive or flexible in announcing exclusives.

It's far better to assume she's headed to Amazon and be safe, than it is to believe .de is an anomaly and be sorry.

GitD Cynder was in Germany amazon.de exclusive too. But not in USA. Germany is different for exclusives then other countries.

except that different regions have different exclusives. For example, Granite Crusher is a Gamestop exclusive in Scandinavia, while it was a target (and not Gamestop) exclusive in the U.S.

We have MediaMarkt here in Sweden, but they do not sell Skylanders, at least, they don't advertise if they do. I don't think we can read anything into store exclusives beyond the region that it is exclusive to.

Wonder if all the Scandinavian countries has all the variants in the same stores, in that case. DragonsDream can you inform me of any Polar Whirlwind sightings or other variants and I will inform you.

All I can say is, if TFB allows for these figures to stay exclusive to overseas stores, I will have to scale back on my Skylanders collecting. I will still buy 1 of each of everything from Swap Force, but my true goals will never see the light of day.

When I mention 1 of everything, I mean everything shown on the poster included with the game. No Legendaries, Ingame Variants, or chase variants. Just the core stuff on the poster.

I made a long post on Neogaf, swearing to God on my kids' lives that I wouldn't go as overboard as I do now, nor would I go out of my way for anything that's a redeco of figures on the poster.

I had this great plan in mind for displaying my figures in the future, but I won't be able to if I can't get 4 Polar and Scarlets. I don't think the people in Norway want to trade, because then there wouldn't be listings on Ebay for stupid amounts of money. I guess people only cares about money more than anything else. That's pathetic in my eyes. It shows why us humans will never climb up the ladder and evolve our brains. We are simply born with the idea of money over anything fun like trading (should these stay exclusive).

Oh, well. I either finally get a permanent break in how much I spend on Skylanders come September/October, or I can go overboard like I currently do, and give TFB/Acti more of my money. It is what it is.

I just think it's shady if they don't release Polar and Scarlet in America, and Royal overseas.

EDIT: I do think it would be cool if people in Norway wanted to trade with people in America. It's the only way people might be able to help one another. But again, I think people want money more than anything else.

I can repeat my frustrations, but UncleBob would break another record...I guess the choice is ours to make. I'm personally frustrated about the overseas connection with darkSpyro and GITD Fright Rider...we don't have any information to say Polar is overseas as well?

I'll quickly make a stance and only collect game only characters (core) starting next release if they've made an in game variant overseas only. That's assuming if I decide to move forward with the franchise.

It's just a hassle. One minute I am always defending how awesome this franchise is, then the next minute I learn about poor choices that can land people with a lack of a complete collection just because of where they live.

I mean, TFB seemed to answer the faults with the first game, which was mainly a demand issue. However, as of now (meaning it could change and I hope to God it does), I am forseeing Polar or Scarlet - or both - being exclusive overseas just because they didn't get Royal Double Trouble over there, so why not make the poor choice to keep one or both of those figures out of the hands of American Skylander fans?

My .02 -- either they make characters available world-wide for all with "Pokemon Syndrome" -- or they choose to alienate the very fans they really need from a bottom line perspective and from a marketing perspective by being the franchise's evangelist.

I agree Gamemaster78....That Suck's.....Just incase I ordered 2 scarlet Ninjini's from that amazon.de in germany...Now to hunt and pay more extra shipping costs to get that Polar Whirlwind also...
