what is it and how do i play that mode?!

You have to complete the game to get it then start a new save on Nightmare mode and it is a higher difficulty

And FYI: You can't change a non-Nightmare game into Nightmare difficulty and vice versa. Once you start a game in Nightmare, that's the difficulty, period (conversely, if you start a game on Easy, you can change it to Medium or Hard whenever you want, and back again).

So yeah. Complete the game on Easy/Medium/Hard (doesn't matter). Defeating Kaos will unlock Nightmare. Then start a new game, you can change the difficulty then. I advise using a new save slot, so you can return to your old game whenever you want.

Having played a little more of Nightmare mode, I'd say it's more frustrating than hard. particularly because the big guys (Shield Juggernaught, Bark Demon) can be downright lethal to even the likes of a level 15 Giant if you're careless.

Curse my perfectionist nature, I HAVE to do all the levels without dying and I just can't get to the end of the Secret Vault of Secrets without messing up somewhere.

I had a tough time in that chapter as well in hard mode...those pesky Bark Demons...I was only on level 3 or 4 or my characters though. My son and I agree it's one of the tougher chapters. Those lightning bolts are annoying too (along the path)

I think the key problem is how it's mostly narrow walkways, and the Bark Demons and Shield Juggernaughts can REALLY ruin your day if you've got barely any room to navigate.

is that not what difficulty is? being careless = harsher punishment

Again, you raise a good point! But part of it seems to be punishing you simply for using a larger target. I'm just frustrated after so many failed deathless attempts I'm all but raving.

No it's not... I was quite unspecific, and the hat is well documented on here, and I suspect is the entire reason for this thread.

But the squeaky wheel gets the grease, some moderator edited my post. Feels creepy. :S Especially since it was unnecessary.

All i asked was what was it and how do i play it. i never asked if it unlocked anything or if there was a new video.

What are you talking about? First of all, that's not a spoiler at all because it doesn't say what happens, and second, it's in a spoiler tag. That;s kind of why we have spoiler tags, if someone clicks it and decides to read it, that's their own fault.

Well what you consider a spoiler should just be more incentive to complete Nightmare. After all, anyone who has finished the game (and anybody who reaches this point has completed it twice) is likely to skip any non-playing parts, and would likely miss this, so it's good to know not to skip it.

Also, what you get from Nightmare is part of the answer to "What is Nightmare", what you get is part of the point of completing Nightmare mode.

And FYI, even though I disagree that it's a spoiler, I would have put it in spoiler tags, if it wasn't already creepily done by the time I saw your objection. Except if left to me I'm not sure I would have been able to figure out what you thought was a spoiler.

It was in no way a spoiler, and actually meant i didn't just skip past it on my nightmare run. The fact you get the knights hat is very well known, so again is not a spoiler

im not gonna argue with this anymore. all im gonna say is that i never asked what do you get and that is a huge spoiler. you even said there is a new end vid. i say thats a spoiler. you could of said it is a harder mode.

going to have to agree, yes its a very minor spoiler, but none the less it does tell him something that is not supposed to be known until you complete the game. minor...but still a spoiler

If you just wanted to know what nightmare mode was why didn't you just read the manual or google it? Posting on a forum seems like a waste of your time
