As in, what will someone pay for a used collection of skylanders? Assuming no chase variants, but in-game variants like Gnarly and Jade?

I'm guessing about 50% of retail cost. This percentage goes up if your collection is more complete.

Boxed? I'd say 110% retail cost max because of some of the "scarcity" of some of the SSA characters, although most of them are making a re-appearance now.

You haven't won the lottery, but man this stuff is cool.

My collection, including the cost of the games, would probably be over £500. The downside is that if I were to sell my complete collection, I would probably only get around £100 - even that might be wishful thinking.

Mine would probably be worth over $1100, if you count the variants and prototypes.

It seems that overall prices have been declining for almost complete sets, both used and new. That might be an indication the "thrill is gone".

As far as what I still have boxed. Around $1000. This is just based on retail value of regular figures and average selling price of the variants I have.

Jebus, would a basic open set even go for $200?
Well, let's see... I've got the three sealed Toy Fair variants, Pearl is damaged a bit though. I also have an authentic, opened Pearl on top of the sealed one(long story), I have more Sparkle Sprockets than you can count- I'd be ashamed to list them all. I also have a Sparkle Boom in a Triple Pack, a Glow in the Dark Sonic Boom, a Glow in the Dark Fright Rider, and these ones are opened: Amazon Flameslinger(obtained from trading), Glow in the Dark Cynder, and Glow in the Dark Fright Rider. I also have a sealed, one peg single of Dark Spyro. All four Sidekicks and Volcanic Vault sealed. An open set of everything released(including 1.5 smilie), and a sealed, BNIB set of everything except for game packs. I also kept Gnarly Tree Rex's box- the PS3 is still in there, unused, in fact. I also have Jin Saotome's Sprocket and Tech Portal customs which I could probably make profit from if I were willing to auction them off, but I never would be.
I have no idea of how much that would sell for since I don't watch eBay prices lol.
Edit: forgot I have these customs as well. Oops! smilie Don't worry, I still love them, I just have bad memory. smilie

For the seller right? I just saw an in-box collection (all 32) AND starter pack SSA go for $18 more.

^Actually, true. And if there was a huge demand for it. Right now, if eBay is an indication, folks are more apt to pay up for a complete used collection as opposed to a mostly complete packaged collection. Sounds like convenience is the driving motivator.

Honestly, the market for an entire complete set of characters is probably almost nonexistent.
Most people who are seeking a complete set of characters want to do it themselves, piece by piece, and/or they already have half or most of a complete set, and therefore would probably not be interested in buying a complete, full set.

If you want to get full value and reach the largest number of suitors for your characters, you've probably got to sell them individually. That's a pain in the ass, but it will bring top dollar that way in an auction.

I agree, up to the point someone has a 99.99% complete collection with the in-game variants. Then it tends to come closer to the piece-by-piece price. But definitely--I'm amazed at how much the individual figures go for opened. People darn near pay 3DS new prices for a Punch Pop Fizz. Major facepalm.

I would also say there is more of a market for USED figures than NEW figures at this point, just looking at the auctions.

yeah, the amount of people that keep them packaged has reduced their value.

I got the 3ds starter pack for Christmas. I don't have a 3ds, I took out punchy and put a jet-vac in their and put it up on ebay. I ended up getting forty dollars for it, so my parents paid about 10 dollars for punchy as it was on sale when we got it! smilie

Using the latest resale values (what you would pay now if you bought them on eBay or Amazon) here is the value of an entire Skylander Figure collection:

Brand New
Not including chase or rares: $1,528.29
Including all chase and rares: $6,228.16

Loose Figures
Including all chase and rares: $3,826.79

It's crazy how much money the rare/chase figures cost compared to the regular figures.

The prices come from my price guide (see signature below).
