I did pay $9.99 each, plus tax and shipping. Was totally easy. I'm with the users who are saying not to go too crazy here; if these are anything like Wave 3, and I defy anyone to supply cause for why they won't be, they'll be filling shelves everywhere within a few weeks, while the Wave 3 characters who were once so plentiful suddenly become rare themselves.

No need to spend any amount over retail for them. While they're pretty uncommon now, these are plain jane figures in the line, and will be out in droves over the coming months, just like how Hot Head, Thumpback and Eye Brawl are a dime a dozen now.

I don't get why someone would waste so much money on a toy that is guaranteed to be easily available at retail prices or below within a month, let alone that there are so many people willing to waste money on it.

Of course scalpers aren't helping matters...some 300 listings for ninjini alone. At least one scalper had 10+ ninjini's for sale. But then again, scalpers wouldn't be so prevalent if there weren't so many people willing to let scalpers take advantage of their impatience.

Scalpers are benefiting from the fear from last year. When new releases would come out then disappear for a while. With Giants, nothing has remained rare for long. But, people are still gun shy, thinking if they miss out on the first pass they will be waiting a long time and have to keep checking stores over and over. Thump and Eye are doing a good job of showing how this fear is unfounded, hopefully Ninjini will kill it - she has popped up all over the place in less than a week of being out.

I agree--for now. If their production run goes dry for Giants like SSA did in the Jul-Aug timeframe I could see another resurgence of higher prices from scalpers because it really will be difficult to get them at retail without some real diligence.

$40 for either of them is crazy!! I'm waiting till they are common. Only thing ill over pay for is the target exclusives i dont get here, and the most ill go is $30 including shipping.

Not interested in S2 'Landers.

This is a question I ask myself every time something is released and a new "chase" begins. I'm getting these for my kids basically, I don't mind spending a little time checking out the stores here and there but try to find them online whenever I can. But gas is expensive. It doesn't take long to spend 1 or 2 gallons on local searching so there's another $7-$8 on the price of your loot - if you should find any. Plus there is the time factor, my time is pretty valuable to me. All in all I guess I'd be willing to pay double for most any skylander over retail if it keeps me from spending my time and gas on trying to track them down. So yeah I'd pay $20 plus a reasonable shipping for either of these figures. But I have a good job and my time is more valuable to me to do other things than checking out 6 different stores every day.

If I were younger, didn't make as much money and had time to burn I'd likely get into the chase more and not be willing to pay over retail.

Personally, I'm more likely to wait these out and order them online like I do most. I'll call my local Gamestop and check with them a couple times a week but that's about it.

Also, I've noticed most "scalpers" on ebay are asking a minimum of 3x retail (or that's what the final bids are ending at). The really crazy dope smoking "scalpers" are of course asking much more. If I came across them for $19.95 buy it now price and say free or $4.00 shipping I'd be tempted to buy them.

Keep in mind ebay and PP takes a percentage of the shipping cost. Giving eBay's money grabbing ways (and let's not forget the USPS and UPS rate hikes) I can kinda understand the product price hikes for a new htf item. Add up eBay/PP and actual pricing of shipping (given scammers on the buyers side you HAVE to prove shipping, so insured and delivery tracking adds another $2 to shipping easily) it adds up. Add in sellers time to pack and ship, print the labels and drive to post office...I don't even get why some people engage in selling on eBay.

I'm considering just paying the higher price for these on Ebay. I'm tired of running around only to find nothing. Out of all the multiple Gamestop's in my area only 1 of them got Spyro/WB in and of course someone already bought them both.

I just paid $23.00 total for Wrecking Ball on Ebay (sorry EvilBay as most refer to it on here). imo, well worth the extra to not have to chase for it. If I can find Spyro in the same price range I'll grab it too.

Since these would be duplicates, I wouldn't pay more than retail...if I see them in a store I may pick them up if I had extra money on me. May spend my best buy $10 reward cash on Spyro if they have it when I"m there.

Got Spyro for about the same on Ebay also. I'm satisfied. Paid a little extra in all but not crazy and now I have my time and gas for other endeavors.
