I have been on the hunt for molten hot dog and when it says in stick online, it's never there. So today I asked an associate at Walmart when it say that MHD is in stock at that store. Well he said on his computer that it said out of stock, well I checked online again and it's says in stock still.... What does that mean. Last time that happened the lady at target said it means being shipped to the store. But what does scare me is that my Walmart got their trucks on Saturday and that Saturday in January I got Thumpback, LR, and Eyebawl, so can someone please explain the whole in stock thing..

I think the online lags a bit. Have you tried to order it online and get it shipped to that store?

It might be the best way to do it right now. It seems as most stores are not flooded with them, yet.

I wonder how "flooded" they are going to get? With all the red drill sergeants and gitd sonic booms still hanging on hooks do any of you think Walmart might not release as many MHD's?

It may be. I think part of the problem with GITD sonic booms is a lot of stores didn't have them out on Black Friday like they were supposed to. So they missed a lot of potential sales.

Be very careful with Walmart...Molten Hot Dog is in the Easter section in my local Walmart, which is nowhere near the Electronics section. I just happened by it by complete accident and was like "Whoa"...There was a ton of other Skylanders there too and at least 10 Moltens. Check the Easter section.

Excellent point. Also, there were already several alternate/regular versions of Sonic Boom available (series 1, series 2), so the "GITD" variant probably didn't garner as much interest among "regular" Skylanders players (as opposed to "hardcore" collectors). Hot Dog, on the other hand, has only been available for a relatively short amount of time (since February 1st in GameStops, in the "3-pack" with Zap, I think?), and from what I understand Hot Dog is a very popular player (kids love puppies, adults think fire is "cool", etc.) .... so while this is speculation and/or personal opinion, I would suspect that although WalMart will carry a large quantity of Molten Hot Dogs (it will not be a "chase" item), we will likely NOT still see Molten Hot Dogs on the pegs 3-4 months after the fact (like we see with "GITD" Sonic Boom currently).

Yes, more than likely the online system looks at a simpler database system that reflects current status, and it's synch interval with the actual inventory system is not instant.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed. |
