Well, that's more or less an example. I know that "pegasus" is the common term now, and that's really the thing that bothers me the least. The one thing they actually did that bothered me was the "windigos" in the semi-Christmas-themed episode from season two.

The wendigo is actually an entirely different creature with little to no relation to the one they portray. I would be less bothered if they had simply misheard the original legend. What they actually did was formulate a being and slap the name of an already-existing, almost entirely unrelated monster on it simply because it sounded like it had "wind" in the name, and because they wanted to look like they're incorperating a lesser-known myth.

Basically, it's like if I wrote a gritty, overly-sexualized psycological thriller and named it "Harry Potter" due to one of the characters having a full beard and being fond of marijuana.

Yes, but that's the only connection. They were more often associated with cannabalism, and, as a matter of fact, there's a condition called "Wendigo Psycosis" that is essentially cannabalism. They never fed off of negative feelings or anger, nor did they prance about in blizzards and howl, and they had no ability to freeze things.

Yeah, but like I said, they didn't so much misenterpret the legend as they did create something and name it after an already existing creature that bears little to no resemblence.

It's not like they got the gist of it and simply halfway-rewrote most of the original myth, like with the manticore.

That's why I don't like that they used the name in the first place. If it's a children's show, it would be more appropriate to create a new name for a new creature, rather than reference a legend that involves adult themes. Even if they didn't want to create a new name, there were a few creatures they could've named it after that would be more of a fit than the wendigo.

Honestly I find that horrible. No the video, is the way how Hasbro did that.

I prefer to see anthropomorphized forms of pony fandom, is that some are so strange, or something with Rule 34 issue.

So, that is the famous project of Equestria Girls. Well, the design is not so bad, but they have many graphical errors.
Seeing them, seem to have a color mutant in her skin as if, they are to humanize the Mane 6, should have normal color of a person, and that they different thing is in their clothes, personality, the cutie mark on the face not looks very attractive, more like a human-style tattoo that a mark of the special ability in a pony. Personally anthropomorphized model of all the ponies in the pony fandom is much better. Well, hopefully that not going to be a complete failure.

And in another case. Several days ago I saw this picture and be faced
