She will not be a chase variant because she is listed as an official in-game variant in the game manual. They do not list chase variants as such- she would be comparable to Granite Crusher or Gnarly Tree Rex.

No, in game variants (show up in game with their color scheme, not just as "Special") are store exclusives. Unless they really change how they do these, which is unlikely, it won't be a chase variant. Seeing as how Ninjini just came out, don't expect her variant for a while.

Surely not. They've never limited an in game variant like that before.

I would belueve that but chase varients dont show up in game with the chase varient paint jobs and there is an ingame pic of scarlet so it will be a exclusuve just its takibg too long

I would know if Target was getting Polar Whirlwind, and they are not. Unless...it's released in a future wave. I don't have any contacts at Best Buy, but with Walmart and Best Buy getting exclusives right now, you have to think Best Buy or Gamestop will get something too. ...

Also, just because TRU has the Legendaries doesn't mean they won't have other variants available, don't be too fast to dismiss them from the list!! For S:SA they also had Blue Bash, so it wouldn't surprise me if they got a variant for Giants that wasn't Legendary this time as well!!

Jade Flashwing is no longer of my concern. I now need info on both Polar Whirlwind & Scarlet Ninjini. As usual; solid proof only. Got any info anyone?

I go with this since TRU had the giveaway in NY and then the rights to the early release the week so it would seem fitting they would get scarlet as well.

I have seen zero reliable reports or information on either character to date, anywhere.
Speculation only.
And ... I'll add to the speculation: it seems likely (in my opinion) that there will be a "Wave 5" of Giants Skylanders, and both Polar Whirlwind and Scarlet Ninjini will be withheld for that final wave.

I would strongly think this NOT the case since it's an in game variant---they wouldn't have invested development resources for a scarce commodity--wouldn't make sense--and in fact would feed to the scalper group big time which has been stated by Activision is NOT their goal.

Nah, the better comparison to an FFXI quest would be GM78's getting that employee exclusive Prism Break. Just need to have a collection that leaves the game creators awestruck, and then you can get something that really doesn't do anything at all special, but still everyone drools over.

I also used to play, and still keep getting withdrawal symptoms from time to time. Had to quit playing for time reasons when I moved back home to Michigan in '08, went through a few jobs due to the economy, and then had my daughter born just before finally getting a stable job that comes with an hour commute each way. Lots of good memories, but I just can't justify spending that much time on it anymore.

I personally wrote to 2011cronis, the one in Norway who put Polar Whirlwind on eBay. I asked him how he got it & this is his reply:

"i do not know if it's store exclusive, but i got it from a supermarket called Obs! (doesnt have a webstore) here in Norway who never get stuff like this, so i dont know how they got their hands on it."

Can someone please investigate this matter further?

I got my reply from knutsolb, the 2nd eBay scalper from Norway. This is what he wrote me:

"I bought it yesterday at a large supermarket. They probably had 20 of them. The toy stores like toysrus did not have it."

It's similar to the 1st scalper. I wish I was there to get 2 of them. Still, we need info on how to get one in the US...

Polar Whirlwind has been spotted in Norway, and Scarlet Ninjini is on the German Amazon site. Have we heard any more news about them coming to the US?

No. I spent (well, my wife did, for Valentine's day) $100 on this bundle, mostly for the figure. If they release it by itself, I'll be a sad panda.
