I want to know where your skylanders are kept when not being played. My giants are in a shoe box and my regulars are in a carrying case

I just bought a glass display case from Ikea with lights to make them center stage in our entertainment room. Why stuff them in a box or carrying case out of view?

I have a computer desk which does not, in fact, house a computer (I have a laptop, and an armchair, thank you very much). Instead, I have a television, my portal of power, and my figures. All in nice rows and columns, hee hee.

I used to keep them in the box my digital cable receiver came in, it was a nice size, then I got a SSA case for Christmas. Then I got all 7 Giants (only had Tree-Rex and Bouncer at the time), which would fill the case quickly, so I only keep Tree Rex in there and the other 6 are back in the cable box, lyring down. If arranged JUST right, they fit exactly.

As far as I'm concerned, if they didn't have the electronics, they'd be collectables to be put on display, like porcelain figurines or something, and as such deserve to be displayed. However, room is cramped, especially in my bedroom where I have my game system. smilie Feels like it would be stupid to display them in another room, would be really annoying when I wanted to use them, LOL!

Actually, I put them on display when I'm playing... I have a flat area and I arrange the Giants in a half circle in the order they're needed if opening the vault, with my newest Magic Figure, Double Trouble, filling in for Magic. Then I put a few useful Magic Items in the middle of the semi-circle, along with anyone I'm working on. smilie

Originally, when we got Giants, they earned a shelf in the dragon display case over the TV in the family room

however, with the addition this week of 17 new SSA figures, 2 Adventure packs and Granite Crusher, their shelf will no longer hold them all. I had been planning on putting up shelves in our computer room to display my 3D puzzle collection, but they may get re-purposed...

That's where my son currently keeps him--they're moving into my fancy case as soon as I get off my butt and build it. Gotta buy the lights tho.

That looks like it is from Ikea--if it is I'd love the sku. I'm falling in love with their furniture.

Next step is to get glass doors. Problem with that will be what to do with the Kinect. We're planning on getting a hanging shelf we can hang over the closed door and place the Kinect on,put we can't find anything that works yet.

Some of them are on my desk, some of them are on the book shelf and TV stand and some are in a plastic container. They are organized based on upgrades, levels, and heroics because that is what I am working on.

My brother used to have his entertainment system - including a Wii - behind some glass doors, and both the remotes and the Wii-motes (and I believe the Wii-Fit board) worked fine through the glass doors with no issue... I would expect the Kinect would have no trouble either, despite being a camera... After all, if WE can see IT, IT can see US, right? smilie

we're gonna try it that way first of course, but I'm skeptical... on top of the shelves is too high, on the lower TV bench is too low and on top of the TV is too far back (because of the overhang).
