As mentioned in the description there, the idea is to go through a fresh Nightmare mode save with only a single (reset) Skylander, but allowing myself 4 Heroic Challenges per level completed and whatever hat I want (though I ended up going for aesthetics over stats for the hat). For this run I choose Zook as a nice mid-tier character (and one of the few I had a series 2 version of).

Why not go for more challenge?

No hats
No Magical Items
Level 1 Skylanders (keep resetting)
1 Skylander
No Heroics done

There's the true challenge.

Well I didn't use any magical items, and my hat added almost nothing (bonus to elemental stat which means nothing for 90% of the game).

Resetting to level 1 all the time would actually make it super easy because you'd get a free AoE super kill move and refilled health every time you gained a level, which would happen over and over again in later level fights (not to mention be extremely tedious).

Anyway, one thing at a time. I'm not looking for the ultimate challenge here, I make challenges for myself because I enjoy them, but going to extremes can quickly turn from a fun challenge to just tediousness.

Oh crap really? Does this count as advertising? I did not intend to break any forum rules. I've posted such things in the past on other game forums when doing challenge runs for them, it hasn't been an issue before.

id be curious to see this at the later levels, the first 10-13 levels are fairly straight forward, but definitely chap 15/16 would be hard with a single skylander (especially if its a melee skylander)

In this specific case I am not sure that this would be considered advertising in the sense it is discussed in the forum rules. There is no immediate and inherent sense of profit by the OP other than views on their youtube page and the video is on topic to the material the boards discuss. It is both common place for users to post videos they have found on youtube to these boards as long as they are on topic and share there on personal skylander stories, beliefs and experiences. This is what this topic appears to be.

If he was, like, posting the same topic on the other Skylanders sections besides this one, it would count as advertising.

Actually I ended up with the most problems on Chapters 6 and 12, surprisingly. 15 and 16 went pretty smoothly in comparison.
