Here is the place for you to post any game that you think deserves alot more recognition. I think "Little King's Story" for the wii is way too underrated. It's an extremely good game with the style of pikmin.

I think Simpsons: Road Rage and Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom are pretty underrated games.
F Zero GX is another pretty underrated one. I bet people will argue that I say this is but I think Donkey Kong Country is underrated. |

Compared to the rest of the games in the series, Final Fantasy IX. I'd probably also say Gex, although I'm not sure how underrated that one is.

Tak and the Power of Juju( blame Disney Interactive Studios for buying the Avalanche Software and the loosely based Television series).
Scaler: Ending of the game hinted a sequel, but I guess the developers lost interest or something. Gameplay was good, but often compared to Tak and Rachet and Clank... Sly Cooper as well. Vexx: Akklaim Studios were the makers of this game and during development, their company was losing money( blood, multiplayer, and levels were cut from the final game and they didn't even have enough money to hire voice actors so three members of the development team voiced the main characters and other creatures). Vexx was a hit for the studio after the bad track record, but it wasn't big enough to give the company profit. So they sold Vexx and a few other franchise to Throwback Entertainment who promised to make sequels to Vexx and other games they bought from Akklaim's library. As of now Throwback's website hasn't been updated since 2006 or 2007. |

It's so overrated that it's lost in the annals of video game history. I second Gex. I also raise you Henry Hatsworth & The Puzzling Adventure Vectorman 1 & 2 Gargoyle's Quest Donkey Kong GB Solatorobo Alien Soldier Thunder Force series And the answer NOBODY will expect: Michael Jordan's Chaos in the Windy City ...it's actually a really solid platformer despite it being a licensed game about a sports celebrity. |

Now that I think about it, Darkstone and Revenant. Darkstone is rarely heard of these days, and Revenant failed to even be finished because Eidos Interactive bombed when making it and Daikatana. Good games, though.

Dwarf Fortress is one of the 12 video games exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art. I'd hardly call that underrated. The game is accepted as art by the general public. - - - I think Sonic and the Secret Rings is underrated. Other than the stupid control scheme (I don't find it overly unresponsive, most of the time it works. But later levels feel like they were designed for a traditional control scheme), I actually like it a lot. I love the customisation and I thought the plot and soundtrack really hit home too. And it can be quite an adrenaline rush at times. Not to mention that it has a fully featured party mode, so it's really two games in one.

Okamiden needs more love. I personally love this game, and I'm about halfway through it. I've seen a lot of hate for it because it's not as good as the first game. I blame the limitations on the DS for that.

Not even. There's great games that take full advantage of DS's hardware. Okamiden's issue wasn't being limited, it just failed to live up to the first one. It lacked the charm, the music was not as memorable, most of the paint abilities weren't as dynamic and useful, and it had a lot of problems with the story and retconning some stuff from the first game. It was just a disappointing sequel. To blame the DS hardware would just be a sign of laziness on the dev's part for not taking full advantage of what they could do, exposing the game as just a cash-in. It looked and played just fine but everything that made Okami wonderful and memorable simply wasn't in Okamiden. And on a personal note, I think making Chibiterasu the canon name is a silly idea. |
