Ok so as some of you may have read my noobie thread previous, i picked up my skylanders gisnts and figures etc from my friend, turns out there was more than just starter pack figures will post pics soon.
Now 2 things;
1. Is it sad i am 28 and found myself in game and tescos shopping for my own set of figures so i don't use my sons? Lol how many of you are adult players?
2. I see my son tuesdays and weekends as unfortunately he lives with his mother.. I pick him up tomorrow from school and see him for. 2 hours ..do i tell him i got him skylanders and only play a little or wait until friday and surprise him and play til he falls asleepand over the weekend as its the excitement levels of when i first got pokemon red all them years ago? Lol

about double your age, and not playing as much as I have so many responsibilities...but a blast sharing this game with my son.

I never got into buying figurines and such, so it's almost like reliving a childhood I never had.

Eh, i am 12, and have almost NO time for playing/hunting. Its pretty fun and good for all ages, i just dont see how you adultsmhave the time.

A 12 YO knows the value about time management. Sounds like you will be successful.

Its the fact that im either A) doing schoolwork

B ) playing a sport

C)watching one of my 3 siblings sports

D) driving in the car to sports

I live a very sport oriented life. I also have various things during the week, depending on the day. I HAVE NO FREE TIME.

Nothing wrong with that at all, X-Treme. Let those sports take you places. My 10 year old son played 5th grade football for his school's first year having a 5th/6th grade team.

I'm significantly older than you, don't worry about it. I got into it to be able to share it with my nephews when they got it for their birthday last May.

1) I feel inclined to warn you, having your own set of figures will make things significantly more expensive (as well as potentially inspire envy if either of you have a character the other doesn't). My nephews have one set between them, it's fine. A second set of figures also means a lot more game time upgrading them, earning XP, etc. Even when you play together, you can only use one character at a time, and chances are good you two will be interested in different characters anyhow. And if not, it could get confusing if you both play the same character at the same time anyway,

2) I recommend Friday, if you can resist. 2 hours with a brand new awesome toy before "You have to leave now" seems a bit cruel, LOL!

I'm in my 20s but am a total kid at heart (no kids for me tho, just pets, lol)!! I work hard and I play hard!! I have lots of hobbies and interests so I have to make time for them all, life's too short to ever get bored!!! lol

Don't feel bad Brisin i'm 40 and my little one just turned 5 and we have fun playing this game. I grew up playing video games since I was a kid and I don't think I'll ever grow out of that even though I have other responsibilities as an adult.

Almost 40 and play with my 12 and 6 year old.

Fun watching the 6 year old play with the figures when she's not playing skylanders. She has a blast fighting with her my little ponies and monster high dolls.

I'm 44 and my wife is 37 and we love the game. we don't even have any kids to use as "cover" although we do have a nephew who played SSA. He has Giants (got it for Xmas) but hasn't started it yet.

I'm 33 and my wife is 30 and we both enjoy playing/collecting skylanders. We do have a baby girl due any day now but it will be awhile until she plays games with us.

I'm 31, I have always liked the more cartoon'y games. Don't like all these shooters like COD and Far Cry, or games like Resident Evil etc. I got Disney Universe and loved it and I wanted to get Skylanders SSA for myself but the wife was not too keen due to the £££'s it would cost if I liked it.

Well the good news is my son who was 6 at the time wanted it, his very 1st video game. So my wife was out numbered and we got it to share (It's mine really). Since then we have got Giants too and nearly all the figures from both games (Xmas and Birthday pressies).

I dare say 50% of Portal Masters are adults. Its fun to play with your kids and even fun to play by yourself too.

33 and PROUDLY playing and collecting with my youngest son (6), my teenagers are "too cool" for kids games but sometimes they get in it and "kinda" have fun. I also find this way more fun and exciting than pokemon blue was back in the day

OMG, Disney Universe! My nephews got that last Christmas (2011), and at our yearly Christmas party I played it with them... The entire party was all adults and kids, except for the neighbour pre-teen/early teen - in other words old enough to play more intelligently instead of by instinct - and when we played with my nephews, all FOUR of us were unable to resist attacking each other! LOL! It was mystifying how addictive that was...

Kids growing up are supposed to be experiencing many things and thus have hectic schedules--the schedule stays crazy but becomes more consistent when you get older. Keep up the good work. My kids don't play games unless they've done everything else.

In terms of my time--I play about 3 hours a week--I prob spend more time here than actually playing b/c I'm checking threads in between other things at work. Most of my playing is done between dinner and my wife's tv shows

I'm a sucker for the RE series as it has matured and changed over the years...other than that dont really buy shooters unless there's some puzzle or horror/spooky element or serious story action--which, btw---Skylanders has as well.

Yeah, I'd bet there's a good crossover of adults vs kids.

I have been reading this forum for few weeks now and registered just today.
I am 32 years old male and proudly collect these things just for myself. I got spyro's adventure starter kit 29 days ago. Didn't expect anything special actually but bought the game because I got it cheap and the figures looked nice and detailed. How wrong was I. The game is great. It's just fun to play and nice change after far cry 3, dead space 3 etc that I have been playing. But I never thought that I would get so addicted to these figures and the games.

Like I said I got the SSA starter kit 29 days ago. Now I also have the giants starter kit and 17 other skylanders bringing the total to 23 and next week I'm going to get scorpion stinger battle pack. During last three weeks I have played SSA, SG and Spyro's universe over 100 hours combined.
I also love game character figures but usually they are quite expensive. Skylanders are quite cheap and they actually are much more detailed than most collectors edition figures that you get with some games. I have made few videos about my figures and someone actually don't care about the games at all but bought two giants just because they look so good.

I have decided since i wont get much game time due to hectic lifestyle i will be buying stealth elf and hex for me only : D my son can have anything else
