wow, glad I got one ordered for myself when I did! I hope they won't be too hard to hunt down in the stores though cause I would like to grab a couple more for my nephew and his friend.

After dinner he said no electronics for an hour. So yeah I never got a chance to get it.

Got mine ordered yesterday too. Lucky on me, I guess. Didn't expect him to go that fast at all! I'm sure once the stores get stocked his online availability will come back and stay up though.

Not really, it lasted all weekend long which is an amazing amount of time for a new figure. Of course, you have some scalpers that went crazy on it since they didn't have an order limit. Walmart will restock, you will start seeing it in stores nationwide this week and eventually the scalpers will start returning all the bulk they bought when it doesn't move. Impatient people are driving the prices right now simply because it hasn't reached the whole country yet. Trying to stay ahead of restock at Walmart to scalp is an exercise in futility, if they paid for an exclusive then those figures will be coming out of their ears for the next six months.

Scalpers will either be stuck with them, or have to return them. Either way, scalpers lose. The only way scalpers won, is with Ninjini, and there are only 300 of her in circulation.

Scalpers are doing nothing more than wasting their time when it comes to Giants, and it couldn't be more bittersweet.

My thoughts are that most of the people (myself included) who ordered will be getting their figures after their local stores have already stocked, and returning them.

Yeah, and that goes for the scalpers too. Once they arrive in the stores, their scalp value will plummet. The only money to be had here is in the brief window before they hit the stores nationwide from the extremely impatient.

Even so I refuse to pay their prices. I will wait for her to come out in the stores and buy her myself.

I had mine shipped to store and they said in an email this morning that it will be in on moday march 4, and thankfully i got one of those 300 ninjinis, not because I would have paid a scalper for it, but it made my wait shorter and took off the pressure of trying to find her when she comes out.

What exactly is a "scalper"? I hear the word everywhere on this website and still don't know what it means.

Yeah, it probably just went out of stock until they get more inventory in. No biggie.

@fireofexile: a scalper is basically someone who buys something at the same price another does, but then they turn around and resell it for much more than what they originally paid for it, making money. This commonly occurs with ticket sales for games or concerts. The only people who lose are the actual fans of those players or musicians who are left with being forced to pay the higher price. (this is because there's normally a set amount of tickets.

The same model is used for toys and games; mainly concerning "rare" or exclusive figures. With SSA (and still with Giants), things like the chase variants are usually picked out by scalpers who either get to the stores when they get shipment in or from actual employees of the stores. However, with figures like Molten Hot Dog, this won't happen at all. Walmart usually gets a LOT of their figures in and they continue getting more shipments in. For Black Friday they had in an exclusive Glow in the Dark Sonic Boom figure, which scalpers ate up and tried to resell; as of now though those figures are incredibly common.

The Ninjini that everyone is mentioning is the exception to the rule, but only for a short while.

The scalpers try to create or at least give the perception of rarity. In other words, they will go to stores and buy up all of the most desired or newest figures. Then they put them for sale (always proclaiming them SUPER RARE), hoping that people that went to those stores would rather pay them a premium than continue to search. In other words, their "service" you pay for is to provide access to figures you would have had access to anyways if they didn't buy all of them.

Think of it this way, imagine a guy goes into Toys R Us and stands in front of the Skylanders display and every time you want to buy a figure he tells you that you have to pay him extra to move out of your way to get it. Now stores obviously don't allow that, so they essentially do the same thing by buying them all off the shelves. Then if they calculated wrong and they don't sell, they just return them at no cost or risk to themselves. They exist in a supply and demand economy, yet have no product and no real service - they are just leeches on the system.

Other forms of scalping are the pre-order scammers. They sell "pre-orders" for figures, hoping to take advantage of people thinking they have an easy in on them, or better access and are willing to pay for it. When in actuality they have the same access as everyone else and will just buy them off the shelves on release, take their cut and send them on.

Guy's they canceled my order of 3 how about that I am done buying from their site! I bought to many at 3 pieces just so pissed at Walmart! I told them to even cancel my online account and I thought I would let all of you know that they suck.. So upset and I am sorry I ever posted that they had them for sale! I wont be back to their site for anything any time soon..
