He's my favorite Skylander yet everyone hates him. WHY?

He's ugly.

1. Ugliest skylander
2. Sucky on both paths
3. Unappealing to most kids
4. Got chosen over warnado
5. Terrible concept, uses lightning, which whirlwind and zap did before him

Ugly doesn't matter to me. He's bad on Typhoon Titan but supremely awesome on Lord of the Lightning. Whirlwind, Zap, and Lightning Rod were all made at the same time but Lightning Rod got released later but he didn't steal it from him.

I don't mind him too much, but unfortunately I personally think he's kinda boring. Better than Wrecking Ball at least.

Typhoon titan is not bad.

^ Wrecking Ball is the worst Skylander gameplay wise to me.

He's not my favorite, but he's certainly not awful... I like him a bit on his lightning path, more than others seem to. He's fairly fun, imo, but some seem to not be able to look past his design (which isn't even that bad, who cares? Sure you'd love to be called horrible JUST because someone finds you ugly huh?).
Not saying all LR haters don't like him for his design, obviously there's other reasons, don't assume...

People say hes weak but they just suck as him, i think he is a pretty decent character. hes my second fav air guy only cuz sonicboom kicks @$$ more than him.

Lightning rod is fantastic. Extremely underrated. He is an amazing jack of all trades on Typhoon titan, and a ranged murderer on Lightning lord. The idiots just call him out for disliking his design. I was able to win a whole tournament as S1 Typhoon titan, and it was a snap.

1. Actually no Skylander is "ugly" per say but not everyone can be as pretty as Ninjini.

^ Not everyone has seen/read Percy Jackson, I saw that movie (I wasn't impressed) but I never read the books, I'm just not a fan of that stuff or much of anything based off of it

also, id say Boomer easily takes the top spot for ugliness.

I'm one of those who has him down as their least favourite too, and it's all in the design. To be honest, if he were just ugly I wouldn't have a problem with it (in fact, I love me a bit of grotesque character design). But he's also quite...awkward? Not sure what the word is. His design just doesn't do anything for me.

I saw in store as I was reading the last olympian (Percy Jackson) I instantly bought him, and played as him, I was amazed by his Lord of Lightning path, with the avatar lightning, he instantly became the coolest Skylander to me, until & came along

His voice gets on my nerves. Same with Shroomboom.

I dislike the character mostly because it's a dull uninventive concept. The voice is over the top silly and he lacks any variation - he attacks with lightning... and lightning... and.... lightning.

I actually would have preferred if Lightning Rod and Swarm had switched places. That is, Swarm had been a core skylander and LR the giant.

I have no opinion on his paths, both seem fairly dull - lightning, lightning andlightn... no wait, clouds! ... that shoot lightning :/

Havent ever used him because his looks arent apealing to me

Because he looks too much like ZEUS......!!!! lol

My 7yr old calls him the naked man. I personally havent played him I picked him up but havent gotten to him yet. Been playing since xmas but have a few guys i haven't touched yet, trying to save them for when i get bored with the rest or they hit max lvl etc.

Wow, someone else here remembers Sectaurs. My cat absolutely hated Spiderflyer.

As for Spyro, I thought the opinion around here was that Spyro the Skylander was a Spyro the Dragon ripoff.

Lightning Rod is an awesome character!! His S2 pose and wow pow makes him even better. Lord of the lightning path makes him beast. 26 damage per about .6 seconds. Wow pow is boss. Just a good character all around.

@SSj3 Derek: I agree. All skylanders can be interpreted as rip offs. So that's why all skylanders are hated by different people.

Never played him, but he looks fun but pathetically weak, like Jet-Vac is. I don't care much about his design (looks horrible though, poor paint job), but he looks like complete *bleep* On Typhoon Titan, not to mention he's an Air Skylander.

Air is without a doubt the weakest element there is (strongest are Undead and Life, Water comes close as 2nd), none I've tried except Swarm and Whirlwind have great power.

He looks ok though (but in fun factor, not strength).

Personally, I love Lightning Rod. I think his wowpow makes Typhoon Titan the way to go. That path gives you a nice defense which protects you while you charge up his wowpow (which doesn't take long), and then - devastation! I like his voice, too. It is over-the-top on purpose. If you read his bio, he sees himself as a larger-than-life hero, and acts the part. The only thing I would've changed is that I would have put him in a chiton, instead of leaving him bare-chested.

2) Is The only Skylander with the base as a actual part of the figure
3)Looks like King Neptune from Spongebob
4) DAT BEARD!

CONS:
1)As slow as a sloth on a snail
2)Lightning attacks are pretty unoriginal
3)To some people, DAT BEARD is ugly (but not me).
4)Both Paths are meh
5) He got an S2 instead of warnado

OTHER:
1) How does he go to the bathroom?
2) If he is based of Zeus,we need a Hades and Poseidon Skylanders!
3) In his bio he is called a cloud titan, but isnt a giant...

SCORE:
Well, most hate him, others (like me) like him, and some dont have him. On that note....DAT BEARD!

I don't like him because he's really weak and he has no dash attack.

I actually really like L. Rod. His attacks look cooler than Warudo's, but Warudo's cooler looking, so it evens out. Besides, no matter how unpopular L. Rod is, Jet Vac will always be the suckiest Air 'lander

Personally I like him but then he reminds me of Zeus and I love Greek Mythology.

I just can't find him so I am still looking.

I hope Lightning Rod is not unpopular because he looks like a human. The elves look like humans to me (minus the pointy ears) and Stealth Elf is SO popular. They think L. Rod looks stupid but not Mrs Overrated?

I think Warnado should have got reposed and Whirlwind should not of got reposed.

I think that Warnado will be reposed in Swap Force.

^ I hope so, since they are bringing back boomer, I'm sure the other lostlanders will reappear too

Actually it's just a possibility to bring Boomer back, plus it was said in December before the game's name came. It's very unlikely that the others would come back, I don't see how they even need a power boost or new gameplay.

I would rather get rid of , but Warnado is horrible.
