GM, you've been at this as long as I have. You know as well as I do that it's a total tossup whether Dan will blog about the figures before the release, after the release, or even not at all. It is in no way, shape or form a prerequisite for each figure release. Case in point, these ones are clearly already shipping.

So.... Here's what I think.


We might see the 4 singles (,,,) and Legendary Chill friday. If the're shipping out we can expect some release coming to at least TRU and W-Mart on Fri.

I'd expect the lightcores and more of the singles at other places march 1st. Based on W3, we know It's Reposes first, Lightcores Next, and giants last. Expect a Mountian of L-Chills within the window.

We could see Ninjini as early as march 1st, also as late as march 8th.

no store has anything online yet. no ads, no flyers, no pre orders. This week is out, guaranteed. Maybe next week (25th) for the first couple of figs.

your proof of Y is that X is true and because X is true, Y must be true. And yet, people own Ninjini (X)and have posted pictures but Ninjini is not in fact on sale (Y). Thus your X does not lead to Y. Thus your "proof" fails.

Here is what I, and reasonable minded people will accept as proof: a picture of the toys on a store shelf available for purchase. A store website taking pre orders with a confirmed shipping date. A link to an in store ad featuring the wave 4 toys. An Activision employee confirming a release date. A toy store employee confirming receipt of wave 4 toys.

That would be proof. Anything else is speculation.

One person seemingly owns them. The listing of the ones on the German Ebay page are relistings by the same person who didn't sell the listing prior. I was watching and trying to determine if I could buy them, but I can't understand German to see if he shipped worldwide.

So, let's ask this question to ourselves.

1: Did this guy get advanced copies from Activision over in Germany, for review purposes?
2: Was there an event in Germany, where people could be among the first to own wave 4 single packs, while supplies last, like the TRU event in NA? Could it have been to celebrate the Nuremberg Toy Fair?
3: Did a box of wave 4 slip out to stores when it wasn't supposed to?

and the bigger question -

4: Why is he seemingly the only one who has a Hot Dog, Spyro, and Wrecking Ball?

We can't pretend people don't like money. We can't pretend these things don't hit Ebay via multiple listings. Yet, here is one joe-blow-nobody who has them.

That's what baffles me.

I sincerely hope I am wrong. I want new figures. I may still go to Walmart everyday this week to make sure. I have my friend at Gamestop keeping an eye out, and I am going to text my friend at Best Buy and ask him if he can keep an eye out.

However, for newly released figures, there would surely be more on Ebay Germany's website by now.

But we know somehow they are being given to the public. Sme event, some how,

GM...it says ships worldwide on those auctions. Google Chrome will translate foreign pages for you. It states they ship worldwide.

If there was an event, then more people would have them.

It seems to be 26 USD according to the exchange rate. I don't know if getting them early is worth that much, when it comes to Series 2 figures.

And Zap, that could be true. What if others decided to keep them? What if others simply didn't know, like we Americans did with Ninjini? I can't lie and state that it seems Americans value greed moreso than other countries. I assume that at least.

Maybe others didn't care to go. It's just a thought, though. No matter what, it seems 1 person owns these. I am still willing to wager that the person here who posted the pics, is that seller on Ebay. Maybe we can get him to post pics of his "opened" Series 2 Spyro and Wrecking Ball, if he isn't the seller?

Alright, a quick answer for a couple concerns, and this is not to beat up on Zap. He said he was wrong, so as far as I am concerned that is done and over with. I just want to answer a few things other people said, and then move on.

Tashiji - I never said anything about personal loyalty. I also never said anything about the figures we've seen in the Netherlands. However, there is nothing about figures being seen in the Netherlands that proves a certain release date in the U.S. It could be a couple days it, could be a couple months. I'd be fine with "Hey, they are out overseas, so I think they will be here soon." Everything stated as fact is a fact, and everything that is speculation is speculation. Yes, I know about the other people's sources saying the 22nd, but until we have pictures or hard dates from retailers, that is still just speculation. While when someone like UncleBob says something, I will sit up and take notice and keep my eyes out, even the best source can be wrong, or release plans can change.

GM78 - You know I am a huge proponent of personal responsibility, but let's be honest, most parents don;t know crap about checking these boards, all they know is these figures are ridiculously hard to find, so if their kids says "I saw that Ninjini will be in Toys R Us on the 22nd!" then there is a pretty good likelihood they will leave work early or come in late to satisfy their kids. After all the Oct. 21, Dec. 23rd, and Jan 25th dates were dates certain, so there would be no reason for parents to think otherwise now, and in the heat of the moment people will dash off to make sure they don't miss out. It's easy for us to say they should check first, but let's face it, we've all done things like that in the heat of the moment to make sure we don't miss out, and we are in the know about all this.

Alright, I've said my piece on the subject, and I'm done with it.

I have seen previews of movies 6 months before they were released. Just because I saw the film, doesn't mean anyone could. Same principle here.

He's not seemingly the only one with the figures. You're basing this on the assumption that the seller is DarkeL, which is pretty clearly not the case. What's more, DarkeL posted them in the "I Just Bought" thread, and seemed surprised that he was able to get them at all, because normally, in his exact words, it's a month after the US release date before they ever see new waves in the Netherlands. Very odd thing to say if he's a reviewer.

You might want to believe that DarkeL is a reviewer who was sent the figures for advance preview in Germany, but that doesn't make it objectively believable. Likewise, you might want to believe DarkeL is the one selling the figures, but where's the slightest evidence to support that stance, and why wouldn't he put the Hot Dog single pack with the other two figures in his initial screenshot? After all, the seller obviously knows the value of all three of them, not just Spyro and Wrecking Ball.

If you're willing to wager that DarkeL is the seller, like really willing to wager, what are you betting? I love those odds and I want in.

Well, I say we ask him to post some pics of his opened figures then, so we can have a better look at them.

I'd be willing to bet he is the seller. He could have multiples, if they were store bought. However, why aren't there more on Ebay Germany?

I'm sure he'd be willing to oblige, have you sent him a PM yet or should I? I think having him join this discussion is practically the only way to settle matters at this point.

And I would counter your "Why aren't there more?" with a "Why isn't there any demand for the ones that actually are up, if only one person has them?" I bet if any of these auctions had actual bids, more people would be trying to sell theirs. It's hard to imagine dollar signs flashing in peoples' eyes when nobody even cares to bid on the figures that are already up; as you've already said, these are re-listings of auctions that didn't even receive a single customer over the weekend. eBay culture just isn't the same in the Netherlands as it is here, or even in most of Western Europe. My theory is they showed up there first because that's where shipping ports are, and it's merely a matter of a convenient location.

I posted a message on the just bought topic. I hope he does show them off. I'd like to see them from alternate angles.

I'm guessing Tigs source was dead wrong then. If - and I mean IF - Darkel is not the one selling those figures on Ebay.nl, then three places have all shown the same thing, which are single packs of only Hot Dog, Spyro, and Wrecking Ball.

It's possible those other releases will ship towards the tail end of the mid-Fed through early-March window that has been given for Wave 4, but I think it's totally safe to say at this juncture that the singles will arrive first... and by themselves.

What I mean is, it's looking like Shroomboom, Jet-Vac, Zap, and Drobot aren't single packs in wave 4, because they would have been listed too.

We know TFB won't have boxes marked GR(W4.5). That's what I was meaning. Not even thinking about Ninjini or the Lightcores.

I agree. Something has to ship with Drobot after all. They wouldn't make a completely old box featuring just the final S2 figure... at least, I should hope not. I bet you're right.

I don't know where the February 22nd, or February 22nd-March 8th dates are coming from.

We know they will come eventually. When they do, it will probably be Series 2 or Lightcore first and second, and Ninjini third, just like wave 3.

GM, would you mind reposting the list of what the abbreviated markings on the boxes indicate? I was at TRU this morning, and they had several boxes waiting to be stocked at their Skylanders display, yet I searched the forum on my phone's browser in vain...

^ If you see W4 in big letters on the side of the box, that indicates that it is a newer grouping of characters.

GR(W1-4): Single Pack Skylanders
GL(W1-4): Lightcore Skylanders
GS(W1-4): Giant Skylanders
GT(W1-4): Triple Packs
GB(W1 &3): Battle Packs

We have had 3 waves release so far. If you see W4 on ANY box, that's new stuff.

I got yelled at by a Wal-Mart employee who thought I was going thru the DVD boxes the other day. They had skylander boxes on a cart that were already opened but not put out. I decided to have a look in them. Nothing special just some wave 2 stuff.

TFB has never done wave revisions. I don't see them starting with wave 4 of their second game.

I perhaps, see them doing this now with wave 4 -

What I think is, we will see at least something this week. Unclebob said a release is coming, but he cannot reveal, although I think we have a good guess.

I think we might see some US sightings and maybe Shroomboom tomarrow. MIGHT. MIGHT.

I'd expect the lightcores and Ninjini as early as the 1st, latest the 10th. I'll be checking TRU and walmart on Friday and all through our window.

What really sucks is when Swap Force is released we will be guessing all over again since a new company is making them.
