I have spent.............around $800. Not as much as most of you, but still.

I've spent about $500 so far since mid January. I am just about done for a bit I think. I still want a few here and there but with Wrecking Ball now bought and waiting for Ninjini to come out... the only other things I really want is the Molten Hot Dog storage case, Molten Hot Dog, Granite Crusher, Ninjini, the Warnado, Camo pack and the Empire of Ice. I've got everything else I wanted.

Just came from my local walmart and spent easy $300...it begins..the addiction....my wife is going to kill me...ive spent in less then 3 days over $400..and im know where near some of u on here..i should've invested in activision stocks before this skylanders explosion..

I told myself I wouldnt buy 2 of each this time around. One to open and one to collect but with the prices dropping in back in. Plus I bought the toy fair editions and I noticed blue prism break seems to be a united states figure while all the ones with the wierd packaging from overseas are green so isnagged one of those. I had a purple lip chill I bought day of the release so o had to go back and buy a third to open. I managed to find a crusher in eye brawls package but I don't really care about any other variants. Except glitter hot head which i can't find at a decent price. I will eventually get him so I really don't want to know how much I've spent so far. I got 2 gitd fright riders off amazon for about 30 bucks a piece. It's an addiction and I need an intervention. However I'm not so bad off that I would be stupid to throwdown 200 bucks on a ninjini I can get them for 14 bucks in a few weeks.

Same here. Any variants I get I keep in package and don't buy one to open. I just had no clue about prism breaks gems and chills lips at the time I opened them so I was stuck

I think the term "invested" is a bit off, that would infer we are going to make more then we spend on them wouldn't it? Perhaps variants and promotional items that will hold true, especially if you found that Glitter Hot Head on the shelf at Target. Anyway, I had to pick up a couple of the sale items off Amazon so I can start filling in the Giants collection.

Variants and Promo's are the only thing I am not opening in my collection, everything else gets opened and I don't have the money to buy two of everything. I think the wife would REALLY have something to say if I started bringing home two of everything including 3-packs and such. It's hard enough not getting the 'eye' when I walk in with a bag and pull one item out let alone 2 of the same one.

Not collecting in that fashion has allowed me to save some considerable money also. I picked up the entire Series 1 set including adventure packs (minus variants and promo's) for a couple hundred dollars, they were loose with cards, stickers, and codes but in perfect shape across the board. In my case, Craigslist and eBay have been a great help in aquiring pieces. Sales like Amazon and BOGO are icing on the cake for the newer stuff. Anyway, 2 cents of rambling. Sorry. I do like to see people posting sale notices, makes it easier for me to find out what's going on for the week rather then heading to the store. I noticed there always seems to be some sort of sale going on but it is not always in the ads or online. Our Target is good at that...

^also keep an eye out for "Wii starter pack" listings as some don't know the value of Gnarly and will sell the whole starter for the price Gbarly goes for alone. I came across the starter pack with Gnarly for 44.99 with 5 shipping I think it was.

Nice. At that price I picked up the lightcore figs that were on sale.

But you're right--we should be investing in the companies we know/use. ATVI tends to be a good trading play at certain times (before earnings etc). Of course, I just saw that it jumped big time when they announced the $1billion mark for the franchise. Arggghhh!
