I find this whole thread amusing! Even if your just talking about completing normal difficulty story it is still longer than most games made today. Story mode on most games are merely a few hours long. What makes it worth it is the replayabilty! Games like Gears, Halo, CoD depend on their online MP aspect... Skylanders depends on ability to collect figures, find all the nooks and crannies and complete all Heroic Challenges with all characters. And like was previously mentioned as well, this game isnt made for hardcore adult gamers, but is made for kids.

IMO the game is long enough for what it is.

Actually, no if you take all the heroics and arenas and collectables to hand.

Most of the people dont care about getting a game 100% just care about the story line thats why skylanders isnt a good choice for peple who only care about main story ( besides the figures are kinda expensive so extra money for a small game isnt good)

But extra figures increase the playability... for most anyways. If you simply want to complete it all you need is starter pack

Skylanders is waaaaay too short. Too much time is spent making the figures. Still, its fun.

It needs to be double the length, with multiple paths [outside of just the typical elemental gates] that can't be unlocked until the game is finished and other quests are completed.

I can dream.

True, but keep in mind the kids playing it are slowly growing up. Will the game garner some sophistication, or remain infantile? Btw, Resident Evil 5 was ~6 hours and Resident Evil 6 was triple that easy. The adults who buy these things for their kids want their investment to be worth it. If you're spending $300 for a game and figures I'd expect at least 3-4x what an "average" game takes to complete.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.

It does, technically, but in the cheapest way possible: by forcing you (continue reading before yapping that it doesn't) to replay levels you have already played if you want to upgrade/level up the character.

RE5 was such a great game! It's a shame RE6, while longer, felt like a chore (like this game).

Skylanders needs to add in more rewards for replaying the game multiple times tbh.
