It's not for regular shelves. Wal-Marts are supposed to have a new easter endcap display. Ours I believe are not because quite frankly we sold through what they allotted us extremely fast. It doesnt' mean "destroy these toys" it means "take down this endcap by this date, Activision isn't paying us past this point to keep it up".

The boxes that came in with that date were all items from the latest waves, the strategy guides that GameMaster noted, and the signage posted here.

^The above statement is accurate. The boxes with these stickers were the standard W4 boxes, and none had the markings which would hint that MHD is inside

Of course, it would make sense for Activision to send MHD during this promotional period, since they are paying for the extra endcap space.

Are the battle packs flopping that bad that they are actually putting out Hot Dog, ShroomBoom, Zap (and eventually Chop Chop) as standalone singles?

I'm guessing that MHD hasn't been spotted at any Wal-marts today? (as the date on boxes and that huge display implied)

I called the store that put up the display...and they're still confused about it all. They think that the Scorpion Striker pack is the same as the Molten Hot Dog exclusive.

Well if the store that put up the sign is confused....I'm guessing it will be a few days till MHD shows up.

Hey guys ive been browsing this site for a few months to get my skylander info and thought i would create a account to share a little info with you. Ive been a Walmart associate for 6 years so I logged into the WIRE which is our computer information system we have and they have the entire skylander easter playbook layed out. Every Store is suppose to start setting up their Skylanders displays around 2/15 and the Molten Hotdog is not due in stores unitll around 3/1. If you call a store or know anyone that works at one ask them nicely to login to the WIRE in the personnel office... Click on the Easter 2013 Playbook -> Entertainment Department -> then Skylanders all the info should be their and ANY walmart associate clocked in has access to it. I dont work again untill Sunday night so if you cant confirm by then ill try printing out the papers.

Jyscal - Do you know if this WIRE network is international or US only? If we were to ask the same in Canada to find Canadian dates would it work?

I would think the international Walmart's would also use the WIRE but I cannot say 100% for sure it's pretty much our central hub for planning out features, dislplays, events, etc... I would ask em worse thing they could say is no.

Somebody called a TRU and confirmed it was the 22nd. A very reliable source at Walmart confirmed the 22nd as well.

I will believe it when I get the email....

The previously mentioned date for Molten Hot Dog is correct - should be in stores on March 1st.

For more fun, I have confirmation that these two items should be exclusively in Walmart stores by March 15th. Similar to the redecos that Toys R Us had featuring Legendary characters, Walmart is getting some Molten Hot Dog (and Ignitor/Flameslinger) branded versions of the BD&A Skylanders carrying cases.


Also, as posted in the Wave 4 thread, Walmart should also be getting Wave 4 around the 22nd of February along with Toys R Us (which is also confirmed by a great lady I've known from there since I was a tyke myself.)

I hope Wal-Mart gets them on the 22nd. My TRUs in Des Moines have been how shall I say it nicely... Not living up to expectations lately. One of the have not had Giants (Hot Head, Tree Rex, Bouncer. I know Tree Rex is not sold by its self but listed him to get the point across) in since before Christmas.

Someone had a pic, in another thread of the "Plan-o-gram" or lay out. Of what wal-mart was doing with their display and I am pretty sure it said March 1st for it. Let me dig some and I will see if I can find it.

I doubt TRU is getting stuff this week. TRU ad is now live for the week. BOGO 40% off. I cant see them releasing new items during this, i could be wrong but I just don't.

Hey gang I can confirm TRU is getting Hot Dog. We got two cases of six battlepacks (5 SS, 1 DFC) I'm afraid I have no photos as I sold out very quickly at TRU and I can't just snap photos with my phone with my boss next to me. I hope y'all will believe me as I've never misinformed you yet. This, ofcourse, is standard Hot Dog.

New waves don't always show up in the papers. Those are printed weeks in advance. The emails go out the day before.

I didn't mean in the paper, i just think if they know a sale is planned they wouldn't release new stuff at that time. Stuff like skylanders that will sell, thou i could be wrong. DVD and stuff go on sale the week they are out

I see what you are saying slayer.... The bigwigs who make the sales probably (I would assume) have an idea of when new skylanders are coming out. However, if I remember right they actually had giants on sale the week that they came out for something like B1G1 40% off. I am at a loss right now. I doubt we see everything however, we might.

Both when Giants came out and when S:SA came out.

I asked a local worker who always let me read the email they get at least a week before, if anything new is going down. He said "notta." He would have shown or told me about the email stating what they're getting and when. It goes in line with what happens over at CAG, where TRU employees always bust out the news as soon as it's available.

This is the only reason I am skeptical about all of this. Here's hoping I am wrong.
