Up Close and Personal is likely an A for the same reasons Rubble Master Crusher is. He's a bit cumbersome, but his health and armor keep him competitive. You'll mostly be doing melee attacks anyway, so his basic combo is still very effective. Bad Sushi isn't great damage wise, but it's still a good move to use on anyone who gets past his range to either see if they'll retreat or or try to come in close. In which case they're back in anchor range, or chomp range. Just remember that his movement speed is really slow using the attack, so it isn't good to use in a reactionary manner. The belly flop is still unwieldy to rely on as an attack, but being able to chomp during a slide still has it uses. You'll mostly end up using his soul gem during belly flops anyway though since it requires less precision, so Anchors A Yay still benefits there. Like most A-tiers, UC&P has the potential to dip into S if used right, but he isn't foolproof. Spacial awareness is key to playing it effectively. Quote: gillgrunt987
Such is the weekday. Jobs, school, etc. Let's not forget that people still don't have the new guys yet either. It'll probably pick up again once more stores start getting Thumpback & Eye-Brawl, and the Scorpion Striker battle pack gets a wide release after next week. |

The bite is his best move, regardless of path, and you'll want to use it as much as possible.

Even though I haven't played yet, I don't believe you. I'd like you to prove it then, I still do not imagine Thumpy on either path beating the Life Guys (except Camo and Shroomboom) that easily; especially not Stump Smash or Stealth Elf.

stealth elf is his biggest weakness. he only wins 30-40% of the time. stump smash is out damaged by thumpback, long and short range. |

^ Still don't believe you, played with him today at Best Buy and bought him (and Eye Brawl).
His Anchor may be strong and his belly slide may give him speed, but the anchor strikes VERY slowly and you can't control the belly slide at all.

#1859 Posted: 01:48:56 31/01/2013
the belly slide is no significant part of his offense, and the anchor may be slow, but it is not low damaging. a 270 dgree spin for 90 damage over the huge area his anchor covers is pretty insane, and the bite is beast.

LightSpyro13 Blue Sparx Gems: 861 |
#1860 Posted: 03:25:41 31/01/2013
Yes his Anchor is powerful, but he strikes it slowly. The bite attack is also kinda slow as well.
Thumpy is awesome, but he's not good enough to deserve his own God tier.

The slowness doesnt matter, he can get in 324 dmg to amy medium/slow skylander that is in range of the anchor.

#1862 Posted: 03:36:08 31/01/2013
Yeah it does , his anchor is strong but he racks damage slowly. 36, 36, 36, 36, or a combo (if you can land them) very slowly.
Stump Smash's acorns: 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24 rapid fire. His anchor strikes too slowly to pop them all, and even then he can only do 2 consecutive strikes (not counting combos) and then he goes back to Square 1 in his Melee chain. He's great, but definitely not Godly. At least some people in S can beat him, some A tiers too like Tree Rex or Stealth Elf.

I think Series 1 Undead Defender should move up a tier.
even on Series 1 it seems Undead Defender is better then Vampiric Warrior, mainly for the stun, so they should at least be in the same tire together. has anyone done any testing at all on these Series 1 paths? |
X-Treme Ripto Gems: 360 |

I have. The shield bash still does a mere 14 damage, but the released 75 dmg is pretty good. I'd say he needs to be in C, or even B.

Thumpback does stand a chance against Treefolk Charger depending on the arena and if Rex's elemental power has been capped, but Lumbering Laserer annihilates him.
I'm also of the camp that can't imagine how Thumpback would win a damage war with Stump Smash, though. Keep in mind that, with capped elemental power, each of those acorns is doing over 50 damage and not just 24. Criticals for over 100. Thumpback could be beaten in just a couple acorn streams, and Stumpy more than any other regular-sized Skylander can stand up to a beating HP-wise. |

Quick question about Eye brawl:
On the eye for an eye path, when he summons mini eyeballs with his eye laser, while zapping the enemy, do the mini eyeballs automatically add an extra 12 damage to each laser. I watched a pvp video with him and it looked like there was an extra 12 damage in addition to the 9, from the laser. |

Series 1 Chop Chop's paths were tested fairly well a long while back, though the tiers around them have changed a fair bit since, so perhaps a little re-evaluation may be in order? Currently, S1 Chop Chop / Vampiric Warrior is in C Tier and S1 Chop Chop / Undead Defender is in D Tier: Do people think that the two paths are in the correct positions relative to eachother? For example, would Undead Defender compete well enough against some of the current C Tier characters to afford himself a place in the C Tier next to Vampiric Warrior? What do people think, and is any research needed?

its the stun that makes series 1 Undead Defender the better path
I have my series 1 and legendary on different paths, which makes me play both paths often im not sure what should move up or down on the tire list, but in the end Undead Defender should be in the same tire or above Vampric Warrior |

Yeah, it also serves as an upgrade path recommendation topic for pvp. Granted, there are some spots I disagree with however, we really have made this into a big thing.
Also, expect these tier lists to get even BETTER and broader once we make one for Swap force. I can see at least 2 new tiers being added as well, as there will be many new characters to the game. |

But there's no doubt that it'll be fun. Bring on the challenge, says I! Apologies to everyone that I dissapeared for a litte bit there. I've literally just managed to fix an internet connection that had temporarily broke on me. EDIT: The thought just occurred to me that because all characters will be able to jump in Swap Force as far as i'm aware, this could really shake up the PvP gameplay, possibly adding a whole new layer of mechanics to each character for us to mull over! Alot may depends on whether the characters behave the same way when they jump or jump to different heights and speeds, and whether their attacks can be combined with jumping somehow. Perhaps the gameplay for flying characters will be affected in some way as well. It's all rather exciting.

I wonder how the swapabilities will affect PvP, mixing a character's head with another's body with all 256 combinations. Sounds so big and helpful it'd change everything. I don't we'd even get them all

No! I mean it's better than Prismancer but he'll be leagues below B tier. He's too slow, lacking the pulse-combo trick with the Wow Pow, damage, and is mostly for medium range combat. He is average without the wow pow.
