We have a Ghost Roaster whose personal quest "Grave Circumstances" to defeat 100 enemies with Skull Charge is bugged. No matter how many enemies are killed with Skull Charge the count never changes from 0/100. This Ghost Roaster went along the Skull Master upgrade path. We have a friend whose Ghost Roast was upgraded along the Fear Eater path and his quest worked just fine.

After doing some online research and finding no helpful information I called Activision support (1-800-225-6588). After appraising them of the situation their first suggestion was to reset the character, which we would be very unhappy about doing. This character is very nearly maxed out, all heroics, most quests, nearly level 15. So the guy put me on hold to do some research of his own, and when he came back offered to send us a new Ghost Roaster.

I asked about them actually fixing the bug, but he said that was something that would only happen if they had a large volume of calls about the issue, and if it did happen it would take months. In the end we accepted the new toy.

This is only one of the many bugs that my husband and I have found in the game (we've gotten 100% completion on our first game and are prep-ing our skylanders for nightmare mode). To me it says that they did not test the game enough and rushed the release. Now they have a ton of bugs, minor bugs thus far with work-arounds but still bugs, which they don't seem willing to fix. Really classy on the part of Activision. I hope they do a better job testing the next game.

Maybe reset him and try it again? But I don't really care about Hero Quests, they're boring and pointless tasks in my opinion unless you're trying to get the Bronze, Gold, or Silver Top hats.

Did you play Skylanders Spyros Adventure? It was a lot more bugged then this. I still agree though, a little more work in get some of the bugs out would be nice.

I also think this bug was mentioned earlier in a post maybe a month or so ago.

I also mentioned it in the glitch thread yesterday.

EDIT: It really stinks that this is one of the characters that's bugged, because you'd probably think that if it was a series 2; you could switch paths to "negate" Fright Bite long enough to finish the quest and then switch back.

How do you even find our what each character's personal quest is supposed to be?

This bug is also in the Wii U version of the game, might make it helpful for when Activision/TFB design a patch

Did you get those 98 before buying the Fright Bite upgrade?

Hmm, maybe that's why I got mine done. I upgraded him down the Fear Eater path. He has it done on that path.

Yep, the upgrade that breaks it is the Fright Bite upgrade on the Skull Master path.

So why doesn't someone just reset Ghost Roaster before he gets Skull Master path and then upgrade him after getting the challenge done?

^ Because of heroic challenges, I don't want to redo the 28 heroic challenges he has done.

I could do that, as I don't do heroic challenges without a specific character.

No, it is on the wii u, as well as the wii.

so only wii and wii u have the glitch?
weird, cuz itsnt the wii the only console that dos Not have the Legendary Chop Chop glitch ?

No, I mean it is also on the Wii U and the Wii. The glitch still also happens on the XBOX and PS3.

are you sure? i have yet to see anyone say they have the ghost roaster glitch on the 360.

Ach, I don't know, it just appears to be on every console.

I do find this glitch interesting. I have skull charge path and was able to achieve the quest after i bought all of the upgrades. What is interesting to me though is the noticeable difference between howhe attacks enemies with skull charge in the first game versus giants. Almost like instead of charging through an enemy, he pauses and charges at an enemy.

So far it seems more like a generic reply to all glitches.

what console are you playing on?

I just wanted to let everyone know that i took the extreme risk of restarting my Ghost Roaster (who, thank GOD, i didn't do all of the heroic challenges with. o_0 ) and it appears that yes you ARE able o complete his quest "Grave Circumstances". But complete the quest BEFORE upgrading him! Still sucks though since I did all of his other quests before resetting him... oh well...

i went the ectoplasm path and didnt encounter this issue, so i can backup those that think the skull charge upgrade path has the bug in it. (im on the Wii U)

"we are releasing a series 2 ghost roaster in swap force, which will include the fix to the figure"

Knowing how programming works, I can tell you that this won't be a fix... If you use that S2 Ghost Roaster in Giants, he'll be just as limited as S1. They mean it'll work in Swap Force.

I've WORKED as a game tester, this is what game testing is for! Most of the companies I worked for were third party companies, and we'd get games from companies that still do their own testing as well (for example, I worked on some EA games, then later worked directly for EA). THIS would be why some game companies do this! It's bad for this stuff to be found after the game was released!

I didn't know about this one until I read it in a thread yesterday (I thought it was this one, but I had posted a message), and I confirmed it with mine. I spent yesterday resetting him and working him up to Level 15, all 40 heroic challenges that I have available between the two games and all 9 quests... Most of which before I bought ANY upgrades, I could NOT finish the purple chompies HC with him before, his ghosts made him too strong, so this was only another reason to pull the trigger and start him over. I didn't buy the last two upgrades on the Skull Charge path this time, not sure which one makes him *chomp!* every 2 seconds, it's a downgrade as far as I'm concerned, makes it so much slower! Which is too bad, on the surface I like them both... One makes ghosts out of defeated enemies, the other lets him eat the ghosts to regain health (would be cool if he could eat Cynder's ghosts too).

Actually a S2 Ghost Roaster would work. Any character not flagged as S1 has the ability to change paths. For Ghost Roaster you would just change his upgrade path to the other path allowing him to complete his quest.

Actually, I missed that, that should work as a work-around, LOL! Too bad it wouldn't work with S1.
