I picked up one of the Biogenik Characater select portal extensions from EB Games the other day.

I'm having trouble with it. After a few minutes the Wii U just locks up and I have to unplug the power from console to reset it.

I originally thought it was because I had more than 4 giants on it, but after switching out to 4 giants, 3 normal and a lightcore or 4 giants/4 normal it still locks up.

Anyone experience a similar issue and fix it?

My Wii U system does that without the Skylanders selector. It might be an issue with the system itself, in all honesty. I think a lady here by the name of Tempest has one, and she hasn't reported having issues with it.

Where can the Biogenik Character Selectors be found? I haven't known any here at any of the local gamestops.

Canada only so far, and only in EB Games.

I never had any problems until I added it, so I just assumed it was the root cause.

It very well could be the problem. The Wii U can be a bit touchy since it hasn't been out very long and many developers don't consider their stuff to be run on the Wii U or try and make it a bit more friendly. Time will heal all that but for now I'd watch what you buy for it as it might mess up your console. I have heard many Wii U users brick their console by unplugging the power like you say you did, so be careful.

Yes, I do own one, and I can honestly say that I have never encountered a single problem with it. It works perfectly for me. I play of the Wii and the PS3, and it works just as well on both. My guess is that it has something to do with the Wii U, because in this picture, notice how is says, "Compatible with the wired and wireless portal for Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360." No Wii U.

Well I took it off tonight and I was playing through.

Got the same freezing issue.

Going to take it back tomorrow and I guess get the 360 version.

So, what is the deal with this product? Seems pretty awesome... yet, no word of any kind of international release, still doesn't show on EBGames' Canadian website... It's a mystery.

From what I heard patent problems.

I have two myself I keep one and gave my kids the other one.

^ How much do they normally cost at EB Games Canada? I'm watching that eBay auction, but it's $68 dollars which seems VERY high (most likely a scalper tying to rip someone off)- I can't justify paying that much for it, but I'm curious to see if it even sells at that inflated cost... kinda hoping they relist it at a more reasonable price! I have really wanted one since Tempest shared this item with us, but I can't find the item on Canada's EB Games website, so I was hoping you could share the normal retail price range with us? Thanks a bunch in advance, your help is much appreciated!!

It's 29.99 in Canada from what I've seen.

Rip someone off? Funny. $68 is a lot less than a round-trip vacation to Canada would be for me to pick one of these up myself.

You're right, it's not a necessity.

Mine cost me 65 a piece. Shipping from Canada plus sales tax. If you think about it its pretty much spot on.

If the old figures work why wouldn't it work? It works with the wii u and that came out after.

Seems weird that these are so hard to find... Was this item discontinued or something?

Aren't those used in store displays?

The new portal has new tech inside so it can read the swap force figures, so it may not work. If it does work it will probably only work with the normal figures and not the swap force figures.

Its just not in the USA only in Canada patent problems
