Has anyone else had a problem with their portal not properly reading certain figures? I have the Xbox 360 version, using my original portal from th first game with Giants. My son noticed recently that a few of his figures aren't being detected by the portal any more, where as they did before (specifically Swarm, Crusher and a couple others). If you hold them about an inch above the portal, it recognizes them, but once you set it on the Portal, it says it doesn't recognize the Skylander. Has anyone ran into this at all? What should i do or can do about it?

I get this on occasion, often with the same characters over and over. I actually got it in the first game, SSA, too. My Stealth Elf and Gill Grunt liked to cause trouble in SSA, but they seem to behave lately. I just got a S2 Double Trouble and he's been causing me trouble from the start. So far I've been lucky, usually I just move the figure to a different part of the portal and it tends to work.

Do you actually get the screen that says "There's a problem with the toy on the portal"? If so, and it's stable, there's a potential fix... Pause it RIGHT THERE, exit the game to the Main Menu of Skylanders and choose Settings, then I think General or something. There should be an option like "Fix broken toy". From what I've read from Activision Support, you should do this TWICE before re-entering the game, or the fix won't properly take.

Good luck!

This has happened to me once before. I just unplugged the portal and everything worked fine.

From what I remember, it doesn't say there is a problem with the figure, it just acts like its not even there. No matter where on the portal it is, same thing, so it's not a dead spot. And if you hold it above the portal, it recognizes it just fine... But it's hard to play and hold the figure at the same time!

And I've tried unplugging it, all that stuff.

Hello,

Please check for any other electrical devices around your portal and remove them. There may be some interference between the portal and something else nearby. You can also try rebooting your console and see if that helps any. Here is our support article related to the issue:

Kind Regards,
