I think you can play as Cynder in the DS version. Or is it TEN DS version? But never mind I really want to see her. Does anyone have a video or picture?

You can, but she is only a character skin in the DS version.

Well, generally what happens is when a game is released on a handheld AND on consoles, the console version is most widely discussed, because most people just don't bother with the handheld version. *shrug*
