So from what I've been able to figure out

Series 1
Max level 15
Soul gem

Series two
Max level 15
Soul gem
Wow-pow
Path switching

New figures
Max level 15
Soul gem
Path switching

Lightcores
Max level 15
Soul gem
Path switching
Flash bomb

Variants (legendary, granite, etc)
Same as regular version except for different color. Same attacks, but will give you credit for having another skylander.

Heroic challenges will be unlocked 1 per character. Lightcore/series 1/series2/variant will all unlock the same heroic challenge for each character.

Is this all correct?

New figures and LightCore types cannot switch paths.

Also, Series 1 figures (or any with a green base) don't unlock any heroic challenges in Giants.

I am fairly sure my series 2 Terrafin ( leveled in SSA ) was offered path switching.

All reposed series 2s except light cores and the newlanders can path switch.
