What is your favorite hat, and favorite character to put a hat on?
Some of my faves:

"(Chinese?) Communist" Officer hat, looks great and lots of characters, especially sprocket and trigger happy (communist engineer and gunner).
Eye Hat, looks great, blinks and moves around, but doesn't fit properly on most characters' heads.
Mexican hat, matches Sprocket's color scheme more or less, looks good on trigger happy as well, and crusher (the Mexican Miner I call him)
Trojan Helmet, looks great on Crusher after he gets his bedrock armor upgrade. The hat looks practically part of the armor.
Siren Hat, looks nice on Drill Sergeant
Pirate Hat, looks pretty good on almost everyone, and great stat boost to go with it!
Biter Hat, one of my all time faves, i mean, who doesn't want a chompy biting into their brains?
Bowler Hat, looks pretty good on Terrafin and others

Hmm..... right now the Knight Helm is on all my Skylanders, need to see which hat goes good on which.

Flashwing = crown of clarity/whatever its called
other = knight helm

I don't really use them for the stats - I just think they fit the characters.

I threw the Winged Hat on L-Stealthy, and she looks good in it.

Not to mention, it raises her speed greatly.

Hot Dog with the firefighter hat is the bee's knees.

Jet-Vac in the Graduation Hat(not sure if that's what it's called)

Mexican hat (I call him "Coronado" )

I personally think the Top Hat works great on him.

As for me I have...

- Rocker Hair. He also looks good in the Unicorn Hat if you want a playable Narwhal.
- Bowler Hat. It really gives off a "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde" sort of vibe. Prior to this, I had the underpants on him. Made him seem like a real fun guy to have at parties. Just keep him away from the soda.
- Pirate Doo Rag. Once you get his Soul Gem you got yourself YETI FUNKY KONG. Amazing.
- Cowboy Hat. If you go down the Oil Baron path, it's like you're playing as a rich oil tycoon.
- Straw Hat. Ninjas often used these hats as disguise or even as training.
- Pirate Hat. This guy looks great in a lot of hats. I had him in the Rocker Hair, then the Pirate Doo Rag, and now the Pirate Hat, it makes him look like the Flying Dutchman from Spongebob.
- Officer Hat. Why? "DRIVE ME CLOSER. I WANT TO HIT THEM WITH MY WRENCH"

I like the show time hat on hot head, it looks hilarious and gives him +25 elemental power!

Graduation Hat: He IS an alchemist, so he has to be pretty smart
Archer Hat: He was BORN to wear it; he IS an archer!
Sombrero: My Hot Head's nickname is Spanish for scorch so...
Flower Pot: He's got a soft spot for nature
Trucker Hat: I like to image she's one of the best mechanics in Skylands and they wear hats like this
Showtime Hat: It's the biggest, flashiest, craziest hat in the game. Therefore it fits her perfectly

There's more, but I'm lazy

If you own Royal Double Trouble and DON'T have him in the "Showtime" hat you're doing it wrong in my opinion!

Legendary Jet vac+ visor(from soul gem)+ future hat = awesome!

I'm the kind of person who has his Skylanders wear hats that visually suit them rather than ones that give them stats, and I enjoy searching for good character-hat combinations in this respect.

My current findings:

• A surprising ammount of characters looks good in the Trojan Helmet. Spyro, Voodood, Wham-Shell, Trigger Happy, Dino-Rang, Flameslinger ... the list goes on.
  
• Spyro looks great in the Beret, or the Trojan Helmet as I mentioned above, though my Spyro is currently wearing the Pirate Doo Rag.
  
• Trigger Happy looks great in the Combat Hat, though he also suits the Miner Hat and the Royal Crown.
  
• Gill Grunt suits the Miner Hat and the Pirate Hat, though I personally don't like my Gill Grunt wearing anything.
  
• Voodood looks good wearing anything spikey, so go for the Viking Helmet or the Spiked Hat. He also looks fantastic in the Trojan Helmet, or even the Royal Crown.
  
• My Pop Fizz wears the brown Officer Hat because it matches the brown of the rest of his outfit. I guess it's a shame that PF's hat always dissapears while he's transformed.
  
• My Wham Shell has a silver-coloured mace for being on the Commander Crab path, so I think he looks great wearing the matching silver-coloured Winged Hat.
  
• The General's Hat is MADE for Boomer. Seriously. (The Beret looks alright on him too, though.)
  
• Prism Break suits the Combat Hat and the Miner Hat.
  
• Dino-Rang really suits the Admiral Hat. It practically looks like part of his costume. The Pirate Hat works on him too for a similar reason.
  
• The Propeller Cap fits on Terrafin's head quite nicely, and adds some amusing irony to his usually monstrous appearance.
  
• Most hats tend to look too big on Flameslinger's head, but the Trojan Helmet looks awesome on him.
  
• Cynder looks terrific wearing a Pirate Hat for some reason. Is that just me? Cynder can also wear the Unicorn Hat, because it somehows seems to compliment the other spikiness coming out of her head.
  
• A Pook Blade Saint Stealth Elf should wear an Admiral Hat or a Pirate Hat: Both of these hats looks like they could be part of her outfit, and they also give her a great swashbuckling-sailor vibe when she swings her many daggers.
  
• Finally, the white-and-silver armour worn by a Treefolk Charger Tree Rex is brilliantly matched by the Winged Hat. (The speed boost is admittedly helpful as well.)

when i first got flashwing i was trying on different hats...
i put the underpants thing on her and laughed out loud when she said, " im sure evryone will know its still me!"

Both Ignitors sport the Knight Helm surprisingly well in my opinion, even though it doesn't match their color schemes.

Everybody else-Knight Helm

Tree rex looks good in a bronze top hat (with the final upgrade of his blaster path, which adds cool armor)

The silver top hat gos amazingly with thumpback's color scheme.

Try the Bronze top hat with Pop Fizz, it works pretty well.

I'm rather glad that his hat disappears when transforming. On the 3DS version, the hat doesn't disappear and it doesn't look all that good.
