What's wrong with target? [CLOSED]

I have had it with target, granite crusher has rarely been seen since day 1, I'm aiming to get him, and if they actually paid attention to THEIR EXCLUSIVE, they might get more money! I have been stalking his target.com page for a month now and he has not come back in stock at all?! What's wrong with u target?!

They discontinued him as of December. He may not be restocked, so your best bet is eBay.

that's interesting. I know in Dec the Targets by me restocked him pretty well but they didn't last long. Haven't seen any since mid Dec so guess this makes sense.

If it's a true Target exclusive, they will most likely treat it like TRU treats the Legendaries. They go away for a time and come back.

Whatever's out on shelves is it for now. Which has me curious to see if they're going through Granite Crusher stock to make way for another exclusive variant to advertise in his place eventually.

If Walmart gets her I'm screwed smilie The Walmarts around here are good at keeping old stock in and not getting anything else because of it. That and they are far enough away from me that if they did actually get some, by the time I could get there they would probably be gone.

I look at it this way. If its an exclusive, you're better off getting it as early as possible. Waiting until after christmas is never a good idea. Unless its one of those exclusives that becomes wide later to all stores, then it never really has a time limit.

I've seen a total of 8 of each of them at 3 different stores...I've only bought one of each though!

Whereas my local Target still adds a few more of them to the shelves once or twice a week. There's NEVER been a large selection all at once, but it's rare that a week went by and I didn't see at least one (back when I was needed to check the local mall a few times a week that has Target / Best Buy / Gamestop / Toys R Us Express).

Was there back on Wednesday, there were two on the shelves again. Maybe they still have stock because they didn't blow through it all before the holidays, making them smarter than the average Target. They could have sold them all in early January if they wanted, but by spacing them out and still having him appear in February, March, etc., they'll probably get more business from Skylanders Hunters who hear about it.

I believe someone posted a while back about how Target treats their exclusive things. It was something along the lines of being that since they're not a strictly toy store, they don't focus on keeping things in like that for very long. So Target will maybe order a few more shipments of them, and then that's it.

I picked up the last Granite Crusher on the day of release and found a second one to keep sealed near December I believe. Since then I've seen them very uncommonly and usually in one or two numbers.

EDIT: Ah here we go. Dark Gyro explained it:

Granite Crusher is a simple repaint (rather than a "timed exclusive") and I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that quantities are very limited. Whether it's Skylanders - or even something more in demand like a Hasbro Star Wars exclusive - Target simply doesn't like to go out on a limb with these kinds of things. They'll generally order enough for an initial shipment and then be done with it.

My personal thought is that each store will be replenished at most 2-3 times before Christmas (and even that will be pretty limited). We may get one more big batch to restock the first wave, one more shipment before Christmas of whatever stock is left over, and then that may be it. Target will not go back to Activision and order more - that just isn't how they operate with exclusives. Once their initial order is sold out, they'll be done.

The moral of the story is, if you want it, you'd better grab it when you see it.


Makes sense to me. I've picked up special Target exclusive Cars uh...cars and then went back to try to get more and found they were all gone. That feel when I'll never get the individual Christmas Storybook Cars packs. In fact, we actually did get a mini-restock just as Dark Gyro speculated. So unfortunately, Granite Crusher is more than likely "retired".

The poor Granite Crusher I found after the holidays looked like it had been torn open and taped back together. Fortunately everything was present and intact. I did get a 15% discount because the packaging was damaged.

Good luck finding one. But perhaps they'll do like TRU did with the blue Bash and get them on the shelves again after a short hiatus. You know, build up demand a bit to insure they sell. Would be a shame to have them just hanging out all over the store like Walmart's GITD Sonic Boom or red Drill Sgt. smilie

I dont have a target yet. i would have bought granite crusher day 1, But couldnt. So I waited a while till hype went down on ebay a bit, and snagged one for around $26 after shipping. Now I have a feeling the demand and price will rise on them again.

I work at Target and i know they have limited stock. Which they may not always bring in, due to budget etc. Its not always an ongoing thing, one day one thing is available the next day it isnt and you may never see it again. At mine they go buy what sells the quickest and focus on that. Which is fine i guess, quick buck.
At work im forever in the toy section drooling over Skylanders and checking out back to see if we have new stock.
It's an advantage of working in the kids section i guess smilie
I came across the golden flameslinger gah i knew i should've bought it. My friend told me it sells for $90 on ebay >.>

I haven't seen a GC since before christmas at my 2 local Targets....I don't need him though since I got mine on Day 2.
He's worth the trouble to find though, pretty epic figure. I like his colour scheme much better than that of regular crusher.

I have to say that the target closest to me in Fayetteville, NY, has absolutely nothing in stock BUT Granite Crusher and the LC 3pack. I had no idea these were getting rare.

I would have bought Granite Crusher day 1 if I had know he would be discontinued. It really is a shame, he was a great looking variant.
Edit: You know, I just looked at the Skylanders listing for Target.com, and the Granite Crusher listing was still there. Anyone know why?
