How did Activision Give Out Chrome Spyro at E3? [CLOSED]

I attended E3 last year and went to the Skylanders Giants booth Activision set up, but I didn't see Chrome Spyro or hear any mention of him on show floor.

I know he wasn't being sold because nobody at E3 sells stuff. Did they give it to media or big wigs only? Did you have to talk to a certain person? Did they run out of them really fast so I got there too late?

I will probably be going to E3 again this year so I want to make sure I can get whatever figure they hand out this year (assuming they hand something out).

Thanks for your help.

I think they only gave it to media, as well as running out of them pretty fast.

If that is the case, I might need to try and get a media badge for this year's E3. And I will be sure to setup an appointment to see Activision on the first day.

The really nice swag tends to be given out in "high traffic media" only presentations, and private demos. Those things aren't for the masses that manage to get in because they are able to convince the admins their tiny blog makes them "media". They have posters and pens and things like that for those visitors.

The purpose of things like special figures is to try to generate interest and articles from the writers, and generate buzz for the retailers scouting for ordering.

If your badge doesn't say "IGN" or "Best Buy", they won't give you time on the first day. If they do go for it, you will get a slot on the last day while they are packing things up with some assistant to an assistant.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed that at E3. I went once three years ago as media, but larger publishers didn't really care. Small guys would be more than happy to show you everything, but the larger publishers wanted to see a big name on the media badge OR a "VIP Buyer" badge. But those are given away by E3 as invitation only.
