So from what I'm getting here, this game is ripping off several different games, while at the same time being more expensive than any of them (even Skylanders).

The sad thing is that this will still sell.

Would a store have separate listings for each figure if they were blind-packaged? NO. Unless it's only in America. xD

Only the Power Disks are blind-packaged.

And the whole, only using characters in their franchise levels? Disney are VERY strict about this(What their characters are used for, how they're used). (That's why they canned the Disney fighting game) However, in the Toy Box mode, you can make what you like out of any character's level items and have any characters.

TFB was the first to use the NFC tech. Sure, you've had toys that come with a code and you enter that code into an online game for ages - but (correct me if I'm wrong) Skylanders was the first use of the NFC tech and the first time the toys/video game concept was used on the console market.

^ Oh yeah, totally. Without rip offs we wouldn't have some of the great games we do now. Rip offs aren't bad, but people will always be like annoyed about rip offs when they're a relatively new concept. When this concept has been saturated so much and used by every developer ever, we'll be at the same situation that we are now with the FPS genre.

And it certainly doesn't help that it's more expensive than Skylanders. I mean, one of the biggest reasons I stopped buying Skylanders (aside from the fact that I got bored with the game before ever finishing it) was that it was rather expensive in the long run, and just not worth it. If Disney really wants to compete with Skylanders, they should make their toys cheaper, not more expensive.

It would also help if you didn't limit characters to certain stages (if what I'm reading is correct). I can see this selling to all the Disney fans and kids out there, but it will pale in comparison to the inevitable Skylanders 3 this year.

I bet disney made the toys more than skylanders because copyrights.

That doesn't validate paying $5 more than a Skylander. Just saying.

It was hard for me to justify paying $8 for a character that I could use in every level. I certainly wouldn't think about paying $13 for a character that I can only use in specific ones. Skylanders cheats people out of characters and bonus items, but this is beyond that.

I hate that Incredibles, PotC, and Monsters are overused and frankly Pixar in General. Where are my Mulan, Rapunzel, Phineas and Ferb (Perry = Overused), Dipper, Prince Charming, and Tidu*shot*.

I don't like idea of having to pay more or that the characters are limited to their worlds (which I don't believe is true because of the part where Davy Jones is riding a vehicle of some kind), but I would still like to try the game out at the very least before I start hating on it (like many people did with Skylanders which I happen to enjoy even despite the fact that I haven't played it in a few months).

How many of those fans will buy Infinity is a different matter. It's not like Disney fans will instantly buy everything Disney because it exists. It also kind of doesn't help that people have their favourite/least favourite Disney characters and will know already - before they've even had a chance to play the game - which ones they will and won't buy.

Additionally, Disney has far more resources to use to promote their product than Activision Blizzard does. <.<;

This game looks absolutely awesome! But between this AND Skylanders...thats gonna cost a lot for collectors, glad I just get characters I like

That is something to note.

When I see raging Skylander fans, in my head I think:
Uh oh, a game is copying a game I like, I better hate it so I can support the one I like, despite the other one may be a really good game.

It has a larger fanbase but that doesn't guarantee it will make a lot of sales. There are people that like Disney that don't play video games, or aren't interested in the concept. And while kids might buy some of the toys, at the same time Skylanders not only has the backing of several kids that think the toys look cooler than any Disney character, but also the backing of adult collectors that will probably stick to what they're familiar with.

And since the game and toys are more expensive than Skylanders, parents will probably hesitate to get it for their kids, probably suggesting them to get Skylanders instead. Disney has a larger fanbase and the resources to promote the game like crazy, but at the end of the day Activision and the developers know more about games, and will likely have more support from the gaming and collecting community, especially if it turns out that Inifinty isn't a good game.

Clearly Skylanders had innovation that was also profitable so it's not surprising Disney wants to cash-in. Maybe even Square-Enix will make their Skylanders excepts with summons like Ifrit, Odin, Shiva, Bahamut, etc. for home consoles since they've released nothing but XIII sequels.

I am so getting this game. Hopefully (since I got the SG booster pack for 29.99 from Tesco) I'll get it cheaper off them.

If they do Up or Lion king I would get it but I wont anyway. Just look at the price!!
