Age has no bearing on whether or not you're "too old" for a game. There's people who play this game who are in their 20s, 30s, 40s maybe even older. Not to mention the Pokemon series which has found universal anchors in pretty much all age groups. (I went to the BW Mall Tour and saw people in their 80s there taking pictures with Reshiram and Zekrom inflatables!)

Yeah I wouldn't worry about being too old to play Skylanders @ 13 lol. I'm 35 and play it with and without my daughter. I played the hell out of the p.c. version. There are a lot of peeps well over 13 that are playing and enjoying this game. Gaming is overall about enjoyment not age. If it's fun to you play it.

No, but judging by this topic I could tell you were between the ages of 12-15. Which is essentially me calling you a young child.

I started playing to be familiar with it to play with and talk about it to my 8 year old nephews, and I'm old enough to be the FATHER of a 13 year old. Don't worry about it, LOL! If you enjoy it, that's all that matters. People of all ages are finding enjoyment in the game.

I'm more worried about the people who have let society decide they're "too old" to be allowed to have fun with a game like this anymore than I am about the older people that are still playing it.

I once saw a grandmother trying to play Skylanders with her grandson. She wasn't very good at the game, but you can't tell me that hearing a 70-year old woman say, "Put that green duck back on the portal! I was doing good with that one!" wouldn't make you smile.

... and no, I have no idea exactly who she thought the "green duck" was, either. Camo? Zook? Zap or Gill Grunt on a TV with bad color?

Here's a relevant quotation:

Quote:
“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”
― C.S. Lewis

I'm going to be 13 in a couple of weeks and I'm addicted to skylanders. I'm at the point where my parents don't buy me them, but I'm not old enough for a job. So all money I get goes to skylanders. While all my friends play the newest CoD, I'm right there proud to play skylanders, all that maters is if you have fun or not. While the cashier might look at you funny when you buy them, boy he/she doesn't know what they are missing out on!

I'm 22 and enjoy the game. I mostly play it with my 12 year old nephew. I really enjoy hunting the figures down, but I still feel kind of awkward looking at toys in the store. It's not so bad though when a parent comes up and asks me a question and I'm able to help them out.

I'm not going to say my age online (i never give out personal information or politcal opinions smilie) but I am in my teens and I enjoy playing the game, both by myself and with my younger siblings. Plus, a few decades ago, teenagers would play with action figures, and these are like the 21st century equivalents. I hope activison takes some of skylanders' older fans into consideration, maybe make the plots a little deeper, resolve certain character back stories, etc. (though the wilikin are creepy enough and have eerie enough lines to be in some older fantasy rpg) but ultimately it's nice to have a good, clean game that you know parents won't mind if their younger children play it while they come over and is completely kid-safe (that wilikin ghost house was little unsettling for one of my siblings though smilie).

Well, middle aged people dont feel embarrassed because they can pretend like they're going for their kids. Us preteens-college kids can't pwn off the embarrassment on our kids, because we have none.

My husband and I play it together. I'm not a very good gamer and he really enjoys it, so when I told him I would play a spyro game with him (one of the two games I played as a kid) he went and found this...and there we were, on the plane to our honeymoon playing skylanders.
