I just want to get an idea on how rare this item is before seeking it out. Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else before.

Here, the blue lips one is the harder one to find. All I see are red/purple lip ones.

its not a variant, it is a mistake in the printing/painting.

Blue lip is the most rare here, and only comes in the triple packs. The individual packs originally had red lips and now have purple.

A friend and I were talking about this a few weeks ago. It seems that there are painting variations based on the the letter preceding the production coding (the number stamped on the back of the package & in black on the bottom of the figure). For instance, my Chill (purplish lips) is stamped W2129. Others are stamped E2129 and have paint/pose variations. My Whirlwind (also stamped W2129) has a gold-tipped horn and gradually blends to burgundy at the base. (Similar to this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/SKYLAN...=item51a3104078) The Whirlwind stamped E2129 has a half-yellow/half-burgundy horn without the gradual blending. (See Whirlwind in triple pack picture - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Skylan...=item3a7b9cf6d6) I've seen Shroombooms with more or less brown on the body, color variations in Ignitor's sword & armor, and Zook in slightly different shades of green.

Next time you're at the store, look at the code stamped on the back of the package. Find an "E" and "W" of one character. At first glance it may not seem like much, but side by side, you can really see a difference.

Exaclty, it might be of interest to those that like to collect "manufacturing errors", but not a variant. I see purple lips all the time these days, I think that is what they settled on, despite the artwork on the box clearly showing blue lips.

I wonder...could it be that there's multiple factories making these? And so what happens is that we see multiple versions depending on what factory's product is put into the boxes? It's weird to me that we're still seeing these relatively minor/significant changes between the same figures. It's like they're doing it on purpose to mess with collectors or OCD people.

I posted this in another thread, but Chill at least is pretty cool as a "variant" mistake. The Blue lipped one I have has no hair painted on the back, but the pink lipped on does. SCIENCE.

That was our (my friend and I) theory. Perhaps the "E" & "W" are for East & West or some other factory designation? Either way, the paint variations (especially Whirlwind's horn) seem to be universal to one letter or the other.

I see a red lipped Chill in one in every 5 Chills. Not that common, but not that rare, either.

I have one of each (Purple and Blue) but both have no color hair (Like the one on the right - Picture above) in the back and they both start with "W". The Blue one was in a 3-pack and the Purple was a Single.
