Just called my TRU and they have boxes that are in stock but cannot open until the 25th. He says the boxes say Wave 4 and that Eye-brawl is the only one that he knows is in this wave (How he knows that since he cannot open the boxes boggles the mind). I thought Thumpback and Eye-Brawl is part of wave 3. I guess the 25th will be here soon enough.
Has anyone else heard about this date for TRU?

At least it's not 2-3 weeks away.
I asked them if the Legenday-LC-Chill was in the box and he told me that he does not know at this time.
In the past all reserve dates from TRU have always included some sort of TRU exclusive figure. Since we know she is coming out soon, it would make sense to me that she will be there waiting for me to pick her up on the 25th.

Dealt with this today, trying to finish my spyro's adventure as i just got into the game on xmas. 27.99 for triple packs, which on the stand said 21.99. Was told by a manger that the packs with the in game items are not triple packs. Ya the guy was a moron, even they rang up as "3 packs", he didnt understand. Also TRU is doing a buy 2 get 1 offer. Figures have stickers on them for 10.99..and rung up 11.99 refused to change price as "they dont control stickers on returns", by this point i lost it, took the ones he would change to 21.99 and left. I will never again go to the TRU in valley stream, NY. Everything is overpriced from other stores, TRU is bad enough this is twice as bad. Random example Power rangers gosei morpher 34.99 in TRU, 29.99 in walmart. Valley stream TRu its's 43.99. Fun crap.

^TRU does price match...I bought the Camo/Ignitor/Warnado triple pack there today for 17.43 and the Giants display that is normally 39.99 for 29.99 by showing the price on the Walmart website for the triple pack and a picture of the temporary price cut at Target for the display. So, although their prices do seem a bit steep, you can always get them to price match.

I totally agree. The employees act like they can't do anything about a price. I have been to several different stores that have something on the shelf that has a price under it. If it rings up a higher price at check out I simply tell them, "Hey, this is sitting on such and such aisle and it has this price under it." They can get a store employee to run back and check. If what I say is true, they adjust the price. TRU employees act like they are the exception to the rule. They don't care what price they have an item marked at. It is whatever it rings up and they act like they can't do a thing about it. Their prices are ridiculous and in my opinion it is a form of price gouging and as I said before, I won't do business with them again unless it's some sort of "Deal" they are doing that is actually a "Deal".

Yep, same source that first confirmed contents of the 12/23 Wave 3 box also confirmed this and the 25th. It has a Hold date on it, but the computer won't prevent the sale - so some might put it out early if they have done that in the past. Only Thumpback and Eye Brawl confirmed thus far.

So... what time should I get to TRU on the 25th?

LOL no shade but TRU has provided more positive experiences with Skylanders than Gamestop for me so I'll continue to support them IF they have it.

He hasn't confirmed Wave 4 or anything new, just that TRU would have the wave 3 gaints on the 25th

This might've been though of, but not mentioned yet....Toys R Us would put this in the flyer Thursday probably. In Canada we had Legendary Stealth Elf with her release date in a flyer, and Dragon's Peak was in the flyer with release date too. I've checked both flyers in the USA and Canada, and it currently covers until Thursday.

Oh, I think I mentioned in another topic that I spoke to a very helpful and knowledgable TRU employee yesterday, and she hadn't heard anything about Legendary Chill release soon. She actually phoned someone at another store she said was a huge collector and knew things further in advance then most employees....unfortunately he was on lunch.

Is this TRU US only?

oh for crying out loud, we haven't even got wave 3 yet!

TRU should be receiving W3 Skylanders Giants...as they are slated to be released at the remaining retailers around 2/1 plus or minus a week. Wave 4 is not scheduled to be out until late March/early April.

Sorry, but your TRU manager is incorrect... It is actually just the opposite. They did not price match Black Friday adds, but they do price match all other times. Google TRU CEO statements about the matter.

I spoke to an employee at TRU's video game section and he said they are expecting a shipment on Thursday 5am. He says whatever Skylander stuff arrives should be out by 10am. This was at Virginia Beach VA TRU. Take with grain of salt.

Interesting. If the boxes do say w4 then what did the gs boxes for eb an tb say? I know the ss boxes said w3. Since I already have the giants idc til we see if lc chill is in there. That's the only thing ill buy from tru since I can only buy it there. Not cause of them price gouging, cause the only tru anywhere near me is filled with a holes and smells gross. Just don't like going there. I do have 7 bucks in reward dollars I need to spend by the 27th so this would work out.

If you look on your rewards certificates, it says "excludes video games, video game hardware, and video game accessories". You can't use them on Skylanders. Trust me, I tried.

Depends on the certificate. Mailed coupons, depends. Some work, some don't. Emailed rewards "dollars" do work. I have purchased figures with both.

Yea I have the emailed rewards dollars. Plus I've used that "doesn't work on anything" coupon on skylanders as well. The employee didn't read the fine print and just manually allowed it.

Hmm...well, it's at least an indicator of other stores now getting more boxes in. I don't think we'll see anyone new in though (like Ninjini or the remaining 3 guys)..it's probably just Wave 3 stuff, or Activision classifies Eye Brawl and Thumback as part of Wave 4. (which goes against what blogs and stuff would indicate but whatevs)

Just talked to friend at TRU. He read me the email. Stores are getting them in on the 24th, and are to hold until store opens the 25th. THEY ARE ONLY GETTING IN THUMPBACK AND EYE BRAWL! So, there is no wave 4 for this TRU ordeal, just those two Giants.

Nice thought process, but I try to avoid purchasing anything at TRU unless it is on sale already, and those coupons also won't work on sale prices. They are overpriced on everything, NERF, Lego, games, etc. I'd much rather go save a few dollars at the Lego store, Amazon.com or Target. I won't deny that if they get in a new Wave first (or have an exclusive), I won't go there. But given an option, they are definitely in last place. Which stinks, because the employees in general at mine are great.

As broke as I am, it makes no difference who has the figures I need...can't afford them anyway.
When I do get them though, I just try to find what I need and the lowest price possible. I don't have any loyalty to one company...I just get what my kids want as I'm able.

I did, but that's because it was G14 classified intel from right below the president of the United States. It's not certain locations... It's on the coupons themselves. If you are talking about their 10% back holiday promotion, then Skylanders are excluded.

I too have confirmation to what GM saud...i saw it with my two eyes and i even have the email print out from ToysRus and I have to confirm...The email came from their marketing dept advising their employees that they will have it on Thursday but can not sell until Fri Jan 25...they will send an Hot Toy Alert to everyone on Thursday at 5pm and there is a picture of Thumpback and EyeBrawl on it and said wave three available in very limited quantity...they also advise their staff to have stock in the morning. No mention of a legendary LC Chill...I hope she is part of it!

I know he's wrong this is the one store that doesn't care or follow the rules. Ive had other stores with great TRU ppl who were very helpful.

The above is true, had $20 in them couldn't use them on skylanders cause its an "assessory"
