So that I could get all of the sidekicks at GS, I wound up buying 2 Eye Brawls and a Hot Head. Problem is that I already own Hot Head and don't see any use for two Eye Brawls. My kids have no other friends who play Skylanders, so there's no one else to use the extra Eye Brawl and Hot Head for as a gift.

I'm not really interested in keeping them sealed in the package taking up space, so would you guys sell them or keep them? I know some players will really use more than one of the same character, but since they will look the same in the game, I think that would get really confusing when playing 2 players with the same fig (and that is the only reason I can think to have two).

We have multiple versions of some characters (lightcore, series 2 and legenday Jet Vac, for instance), but at least those look different in game and it counts for something to have all of those. Is there some achievement or award in game for having more than one of the same figure registered, or am I correct in thinking it's pointless?

for series 1, i have one packaged and one opened for almost all the figures. But I love the original packaging for collectors reasons, but i also like opening them and having my hands on them to really see what they're like!

Eye brawl is very rare at the moment, you could try selling it on ebay, or on a local classifieds site. OR if you want to play with 2 at once wearing different hats helps with some confusing..

And there is no achievment for having any kind of certain skylander.

You can change the nickname of one or both of them so that you can tell them apart and with two you would be able to have one for each upgrade path since you cannot change back and forth freely with the Giants or "newlanders". But that in my opinion is the only benefit of having 2 of the same character.

You can "return" the figures to Wal-mart for cash or store credit, sell them on ebay, or keep them since path switching isn't available on the Giants.

Assuming I can carefully peel off the GS price tag, what if my Wal Mart has not received any Eye Brawls yet? Wouldn't the computer tell them that they couldn't have been purchased there?

If only there was a way to change the color or re-skin the characters in game along with the nick name change, then my son and I could both be the same giant at once, as he would think that was pretty sweet, but I really don't see any point in keeping, so maybe I'll try Craigslist or see if I can get store credit someplace. I'd return them to GS if they would let me keep my sidekicks, but don't want to risk having to turn them back over.

Just say you got them as a gift from a friend out west. It's in the Wal-mart system, so it should scan fine.

If not, I'm sure there's someone on this board that would take those figures off your hands for a reasonable price. You could also try Craigslist.

I'd be happy to take the extra Eye Brawl off your hands if you could mail it up to Canada. :-) We don't have them here yet and are dying for them.

That's "Return Fraud" and it is illegal. People get away with it a lot, but if you happen to get a manager in a particularly grumpy mood you might get a free ride in the back of a police car. It isn't worth it, and it is dishonest.

The best idea would be to trade with someone that needs it or sell on Craigslist or Ebay. Put a low buyout to cover your cost, fees and shipping and they will get snapped up. If you go Craiglist, be sure to set up a meeting place in a public location, maybe even in the parking lot of the police station.

Or ... and this is a maybe, you can wait a bit and see if Legendary Lightcore Chill hits Canada first like the other Legendaries have. They don't have Eye Brawl in Canada yet, maybe find another member from there and work out a trade.

No way would a manager ever call you on that. It your word over theirs and police wouldn't even bother showing up. It's definitely against the rules, but I wouldn't blink twice at putting eyebrawl/hot head back on store shelves to just be sold again in minutes.

Yea the chance of getting arrested for returning it to Walmart is about the same as finding a unicorn. Worst thing they would do is say no. Even if they knew you didn't buy it there cause they don't have em or something, you say it was a gift. No way to prove you wrong.

Id say finding that unicorn is more likely by a lot.

Sure, go ahead and give it a shot. Of course, you might just get that manager that is trying to impress his superiors. Or one that knows about Skylanders and knows that the Walmarts in the area (like mine) haven't gotten those in yet.

Not likely, sure - but someone wins the lottery and that is exceedingly unlikely as well. You know, when I was younger, TRU had a policy that allowed returning games if you didn't like them. Now, I didn't break any rules and I bought a lot of games from there, and took some back from time to time when they stunk (and I didn't abuse it, and always had my receipt and the game was in perfect condition). Back then (the NES days), we didn't have web resources to know if games were any good and there were a *ton* of crappy NES games. I had an extremely jerkish manager that literally accused me of stealing the game board inside of the cartridge, and proceeded to take a screw driver and disassemble the cartridge right in front of me. Then we he realized he was wrong, never once admitted his mistake - simply reassembled it, told me he would do the return and I could "never return anything there ever again". In the end, he was just a guy that got off on hassling people, and didn't care that I would never buy anything there again for years. It wasn't a fun experience even though in the end I was vindicated.

Fraudulent returns without a receipt are a big source of loss at those stores - they do it because the goodwill for customers outweighs the potential loss. If they get a whiff of it being questionable, most will just simply turn you away. But, you might just get one of those kinds of people that wants to prove his point. And if you think they won't call the police over some silly stuff, do a bit of searching on Walmart. People on the Internet that tell you it is "more rare than unicorns" won't make a bit of difference to them. Returning an item you didn't buy there for money back is stealing and illegal. And the high chances of success do not make it not stealing. And while we are at it, suggesting it is also against the forum rules.

Too bad selling faulty merchandise that you have to re-purchase after a couple of uses isn't a crime, or wasting your time with ever changing return policies, or filling up a display that has a huge cheap price listed on a giant sign and then putting a tiny label on the bottom shelf no where near the item you are getting and once you check out you find out the item you purchased cost $30 more than what the giant sign said, or making you wait an hour in line for a return or refund, or having an alarm go off and being chased down by an elderly man who can barely see to look at your receipt while people stare at you thinking that you stole something, or not honoring a price match, or treating you like a criminal when you return two Christmas gifts that you didn't have a receipt for (one of which was a brand that only Walmart carries), or being told to move to a different line because you have too many items for the Express lane even though you were under the 20 limit...........considering time is money, gas is money, and constantly having to waste both of these things because of poor customer care, horrible policies, and terrible product handling and quality, I'm pretty sure their hand is deep in your pocket no matter what you do. After reading my own rant, I'm not sure why I even go there anymore. I have never had any of those problems at Target and their prices are just about the same.

I guess that makes stealing ok then? "They had it coming to them" is a really compelling defense in the eyes of the law. It is no better than the "it's my word against theirs", because the police will almost always take the word of the established business over the average random person. If Walmart treats you poorly, DON'T SHOP THERE - I hate them personally, and avoid Walmart if at all possible. And with TRU's prices, they join that list. The solution to the problem isn't to start scamming them.

By the way, I bolded the part in your post that reinforces what I said. You're welcome.
