I'll only be getting ones that I really want. It seems that the point of Infinity isn't "buy everything." That really appeals to me.

Let me think of a list:
Pros:

• Toy Box Mode that you can create your own worlds in.
  
• Six hour unique playsets with open worlds and lots of missions (Plus a boss fight!)
  
• Beloved franchises (Complete opposite of Skylanders to me. For me Skylanders is more of ruining old franchises) coming together.
  
• UNLIMITED GAMEPLAY TIME.
  
• Completely blows Skylanders out of the water gameplay-wise.
  
• Only have to get the ones you want.
  
• Having multiple power-ups to a character.
  
• The joy of seeing Captain Jack Sparrow and Sully cower as Mr. Incredible smashes a robot, stares at them seriously, then flies off with Buzz's jetpack.
  

Cons:

• More expensive than Skylanders ($35 for another playset!?)
  
• Potentially less variety between characters (Each might only have a few unique moves from what I've seen in the Incredibles Level Gameplay. Of course, so do the Skylanders...)
  
• Will probably eat up my life (And wallet).
  

As soon as a Lilo & Stitch playset is announced I'll be preordering this. This is what Disney Universe should've been!

Oh god that Incredibles showcase just sold the game for me, Pixar give that movie some more love okay? If they make a Lion King world and I'll buy it regardless of if the game sucks or not.

I'm glad this is looking like it's not turning into the train wreck I imagined, but that all could change on release day...those figures look pretty sweet but dang is that price a huge turn away for me. I can barely afford Skylanders on launch much less during the waves. :T

I'm not a huge fan of the chosen art style for most of the characters...but if Skylanders has taught me anything I'm definitely gonna give it a try before blindly judging it.

Yes. Yes. YES. Gotta say that The Incredibles is my all-time favorite animated movie, so I'd probably get this game for them alone. And you can play as Syndrome? Heck. Yes. <3

I'm also interested in what Frankenweenie characters you can apparently play as. I would personally enjoy an Oliver and Company world as well.

Lilo and Stitch and The Lion King worlds would be great too, as others have already said.

If they do Up or Lion king I might get it...

I just wanna play as Dr.Doof from Phineas and Ferb and zap the heck out of Fix it Felix with Inators while riding on Pumba from the lion king with a syndrome wig. Is that too much to ask?

After watching that video, it's safe to assume that Infinity is not Skylanders.

Each playset is basically it's own game, so Infinity is essentially compromised of various games within itself. Skylanders is one big game with an overarching storyline. Skylanders is X-Men to Infinity's Avengers.

No. The games are very different.

I saw him as a little bobblehead-ish thing on a surfboard item. That kind of worries me, as they might just have Lilo and Stitch represented as items and Power Tokens. IMO Stitch deserves to be a playable character more than Wreck-it-Ralph (Though I do love that they included him).

I really want to see a playset for them though. Imagine running through Hawaii and Outer Space as Stitch, Lilo, Angel, Reuben, etc.

Wreck-It Ralph is actually a character from a video game and the movie is Pixar's best in a long time (Cars can roll off a cliff and DIE!). If anything Lilo & Stitch (which is oddly ignored by Disney instead of celebrated) deserves better treatment from Disney everywhere. I'm talking about a BluRay edition and this thing. Disney totally ignored the 10th anniversary and I can feel them pulling that hideous forced double-featured blu-ray release they are shoving down people's throats (I love Hunchback but I won't be getting it on BD because I don't want that sequel at all).

I can't get enough of Disney and I really want to like this, but if you can't mix characters into all the worlds, I do not really see the point in this game if you can only do that in Sandbox.

Gonna have to wait and see more.

story play sets stay true to property (only characters from the recognised story property, such as the incredibles) are playable in the world that the play set opens.

BUT and yes that is a big BUT ... the toy box brings in ALL figures which then allows the player to create an infinite size world of their own.

to demonstrate the functionality developers have already recreated mario kart tracks in the toy box ... think buzz and sully being able to race each other around bowser's castle and you begin to get the idea of what can be done.

there is no real need to make characters from other story properties playable in the original story play set worlds.

Characters from Infinity sequels will be able to be played in past games, due to patching past games.

I always wanted to play as my Giants Newlanders in the first game (not the Giants just Newlanders). It seems Disney is reading my mind on ideas.

It looks like Cars will be released as well at launch. Not too suprising considering its alternate playstyle and its heavy usage in the trailers. Hopefully they take inspiration from their very own Cars 2 The Videogame.
