For anybody that has tried it yet with Tree Rex. My frickin bird keeps destroying the vases! Any ideas, lol?

Is it a speed challenge?

It's a timed challenge where you have to destroy these cats without breaking vases. Everytime you break a vase it cuts 10 seconds off your time.

It's the hit-the-cat-statues-but-not-the-vases one.

Other than resetting the character, there probably won't be any useful suggestions.

If you have the Anvil use it and you will blast right thru the challange even with the bird hitting vases. The Anvil only hits the cats.

The Anvil? I guess I'll have to try it, thanks.

Really? I couldn't beat it with my S1 Zap because he was fully upgraded but now I can upgrade him with too? Awesome!!

What I did was just bulldoze the cat. Then keep walking away.
The only person I ever had a problem with for this challenge was Zook back on SSA.

usually these challenges have a time bonus you can find. If there is one and you can find it, then you might be able to power through the challenge. That map usually has an island with specials on it. Try looking for a secret teleporter that would take you over there.

i guess the only way is if u reset him and do the challenge without the soul gem

None of my giants had any of their upgrades yet, I was just having trouble due to their size and the power of their primary attacks. Once I went ahead and got the upgrade for Tree Rex so he was able to shoot and the eye laser for my Crushers I was able to make it through with all of the current Giants. Will have to see how it goes tonight with Thumpback and Eye Brawl once my husband brings them home.

I had to laugh when I tried the anvil. I had never used it before, but wow, lol. It was taking out EVERYTHING. I was wondering if the guy who suggested it was playing a joke. Still no dice, have gotten very close, but no cigar

I have heard that the Anvil (and other magical items) work on some systems (like the Wii) but not others. But he wasn't playing a joke. I have used the anvil on Double Trouble's challenge, and it worked fine. I have a Wii.

Oddly enough the targetting system between HC's changes greatly too. I also play the Wii. The anvil works well for DT's challenge but not for Zap. In addition Tree Rex's woodpecker is awesome for DT's challenge and completely ignores vases. However, in Zap's challenge the woodpecker loves breaking vases.

When you use the anvil you only place it on the portal when you are standing in front or next to a cat. As soon as the anvil hits the cat take it off the portal. Keep repeating this at each cat. Do not leave the anvil on the portal the entire time.

I'm not sure if that would work. I don't know if it varies from system to system like others were saying, but I have an Xbox and it's called "Anvil Rain" and it literally rains anvils. dozens of them. everywhere, in an instant.

My issue was not the woodpecker since I had not upgraded my Tree Rex or any of my new figures for that matter learned that lesson with SSA last time. My issue was that some of the Giants primary attacks just slaughtered the vases. So on the ones with no shooting skills available from the beginning I did buy them their upgrades of being able to shoot and made it through just fine. I have only a few characters left that have not completed all available HC

I can understand this problem I have gotten DT and Zap's challenge with every giant except Crusher and wave 3. The challenge that I find challenging with the giants is drobot's there are a couple of places where I get cornered by chompy's and its hard to escape without stepping on one

Yes Drobots challenge is difficult with any giant. All I can say is don't stop just stay away from corners and keep the purple chompies behind you, and, if you get the chance to cut them off around a bend do it. Oh yes don't use any of the giants attacks, just walk over the green chompies.

Back on topic: For what I have found for Zaps challenge, many of the cats cannot be safely broke from the most direct path, often you have to find a way to the othe side for a much clearer shot, especially for attacks that pierce or area of effect(aoe) attacks.

well on SSA I fully upgraded along the lightning path and the lightning kees destroying the vases becauase it bounces!
