This may be a weird thing to say, but have you considered blinds over curtains for in there? Big slat blinds would make a huge difference for this room visually.

I would love wooden - or big - blinds. Sadly, my youngest daughter makes short work of blinds. However, even if I had those kind of blinds, I would still need that curtain in the room, because it almost totally blocks out the sun from the room. I put a towel up top and tacked it up, so no sun would come through the top. As anyone who collects figures or anything for display knows, the UV rays discolor things.

So, even if I had big blinds, they would be hiding behind the curtain. Well, wait. Are you implying I take this curtain and tack it up against the window, and then put the blinds behind it (ie blinds infront from anyone looking at the window from the inside)? I may try and do that, but only if I can have total blockage of the sun from this room so nothing discolors over time.

Yes...that was what I was thinking...use duvatine to black out the window and blinds in front....I am a visual person...design background. Just think it would sharpen up the room.

Hadn't thought about discoloring...my big slat blinds block out 90% of light I figure...can game in daylight with no reflectivity issues. But yeah...the UV issue could be a problem.

EDIT: OMG. Do you know what I just realized? When I was at Wal-Mart that day, I was so pumped up about finding a display that showed it, I didn't go to the place where they actually SELL posters... I found the display by the 'landers display.

Not gonna lie, that poster is pretty boss....

I recommend you save your money for future variants and dont buy the mega blocks sets. unless you wanna go above and beyond here. the figures arent really anything special and the sets arent cheap.

btw, you should totally get a mini book shelf or something and display every spyro game that comes out, it would look really nice.

one last thing, you can get pretty cheap shelves and displaying stands at ikea for very cheap.

What's Ikea? I made a couple of small shelves for the Magical Items from Giants. Nothing fancy, but it does the job. When the new camera comes in, and I either get the new Giants this month, or the Scorpion Striker, I will update a lot of photos on the first post.

The small shelves - one is small enough to just fit the Platinum Treasure Chest - are hanging below the Scorpion Striker Battle Pack, which will hang below the Dragonfire Canon, which you can see hanging up on the wall in the first pic in post #1202.

Ikea is a GIANT (see what I did there? ) store that has lots of furnishings, building material, and all kinds of things of that nature. Ikea is so big, that they have arrows on the floor that shows you the way out so you don't get lost.

Well, I got my tracking number for Employee Break. I know some people thought it would be funny if someone inside Activision was trolling me, but I forgot to mention that this is coming from the same person who got me my E3 Spyro. This person also stated they would try and help me get the upcoming convention exclusives, whatever they may be.

I can't thank this person enough. I told this person that when I get a movie sold, I would make sure to send him a nice gift.

Can't wait for Employee Break to arrive. Depending on how many variants come out for Giants, I may have to re-arrange the walls ever so slightly.

Totally overhauled ALL pics on the first page, plus added new pics of all THREE Skylanders walls.

Now it's just a matter of filling in the holes you see on the two Giants walls, and that should be that.

The current location of the Store Exclusives/Variants may be temporary and replaced with the Giants poster included with each copy of the game, which is currently under the Newlander Single Packs on the 3rd wall. This all depends on how many Triple Packs come out. If it is 8 (which I hope it is), I can move the Triple Packs under the Newlander Single Packs and put the Store Exclusives/Variants where the Triple Packs currently are. However, if it is the rumored 9, then I will have to keep them in their current location and hope not too many variants come out, so I have enough room for them.

hi gamemaster 78 just a quick question for u did u test the prism break did it come up as special cause i have a stone whirlwind thats not coming up special but the stone zook i have does i contacted activison today and the girl on the fone what really stupid had to spell whirlwind to her and she couldnt under stand that it wasnt registering as special she kept asking what the error message said so if u could give me any feed back this it would be a great help.

Mine will be here in the next two days or so. I will be able to report my findings then.

I would contact Activision Assist on Facebook and ask them. Tell them certain variants are showing up as special and some not. I'm interested in finding out if they can replace variants.

Did you try both Stone variants on Spyro's Universe, and see if they register as Special?

Sorry for the double-post, but my Employee Break arrived from my buddy at Activision. I will be testing him out on Universe now. Here's hoping he registers as Special, even though people have said he doesn't. Maybe it's a glitch?

EDIT: Doesn't show up as Special in Universe, nor the games itself. It starts off at level 1 with no gold.

Oh, well. Looks like Winter Break might be the version, if it isn't glitched like the Stone and Glitter variants.

EDIT 2: The Employee Break, like Target exclusive Whirlwind, Walmart Exclusive Drill Sergeant, and Toys R Us exclusive Darklight Crypt, has a different UPC than the normal LC Prism Break.

Normaly LC P. Break's UPC is 047875845510, while Employee Break's UPC is 047875846364

Well, others keep talking here about the variants being glitched. Some will register, some won't. I am taking it all variants, minus the store exclusive ones, are glitched and you have a 50/50 chance of having one register as special or not, which includes the Stone Whirlwind.

That is the MOST beautiful thing i've ever seen. EVER.

btw, something popped up in my head the other day. i noticed there are 5 or 6 different portals needed to truly "collect" them all.
i dont want to be a stick in the mud on this one, but anyway here they are.

• grey basic portal (ssa, console packs)
  
grey mini portal (3ds packs)
#black "granite" portal (SG console packs, battlegrounds)
*black mini "granite" portal (SG 3ds packs)
translucent portal (SG, console, walmart exclusive)

^ Battlegrounds has a normal Portal with a disconnectable wire like the 3DS. It's shorter than the Console ones, too.

When you mean granite, you mean the gray is a bit darker, right? The Giants portals light up different and have a hint of darker gray to them, so I would say they're different enough to warrant owning one, if someone wants to say they own everything Skylanders related. So, 6 sounds right.

Actually it's a lighter - glossy - granite, but still. If one were to want everything Skylanders related, each new portal is a must.

The 3DS portal matches the console version on the first game and second game, with the portal also matching for the GITD versions.

EDIT: You know, SparCrux, you just gave me an idea. I have all six different portals, and now I know what to do with them when not in use. I am going to display them in the collection. When I update pics again, when Hot Dog comes out, I will update a pic of my computer desk, which will have them displayed.

Sorry for the double-post, but thanks to SparCrux mentioning the six variant portals, it gave me an idea, which also lead to an idea of where to properly display my ingame variants for Giants.

I updated the first post with 3 pics. 2 updated and 1 new one. Here is a pic of the new one, which is now my display shelf for my six portals, as well as the 8 ingame variants when they all release.

This is how the ingame variants will be displayed...

Scarlet Ninjini will be on top of the first console portal (where Granite Crusher currently is), and Punch Pop Fizz will be right in front of that portal. Royal Double Trouble will be on the first 3DS portal, while Granite Crusher will be on top of the second 3DS portal, which is on top of the second console portal. Jade Flashwing will be right in front of that portal. Molten Hot Dog will be on top of the third 3DS portal, while Polar Whirlwind will be to the right of it, which is in front of the third console portal, which Gnarly Tree Rex will be standing on top of.

As for the Mega Blok Skylanders that were displayed there, they have been moved to my merch and variant shelf, which you can see in an updated pic in the first post. What I will do with that Skylanders Arena that displays 8 Skylanders, plus the portal, and lights up, is display a unique variant for each element. What I mean by this is I will buy more than one of each variant in time (ie the silvers and golds), and I will display 1 of each variant, from each element on that arena. Right now, I have figures of the certain elements, displayed on the wrong element (ie WERDS on the Water Element).

So, one day, you will see Sapphire Bash on Earth, Clear Wham Shell on Water, Bronze Flameslinger or Silver Eruptor on Fire, Chrome Spyro on Magic, Gold Chop Chop on Undead, Flocked Stump Smash on Life, GITD Sonic Boom or Warnado on Air, and WERDS on Tech. I had always planned on buying a complete set of variants to open when I get this movie sold, so that arena is the perfect place to display 8 chosen ones.

What are those things, Shroomy, Terrafin and they are al on mini portals?

Yeah. Two of the figures came with Ultimate Battle Arcade (Jet Vac and Shroom), while the others are in single packs, which all include a portal for them to use in battle. For the most part, the portals light up according to the color of the element. I noticed, though, that Chop Chop's portal lights up red, instead of gray, which kinda stinks.

It looks awesome. I'm a 36 year old and I absolutely LOVE IT. I've been haunting for ghost roaster. We started at Christmas and that's the only ss1 we don't have. Me and my kids love it. I wish I had that collection

I love ghosty. they nerfed him but they made him fast.

His skull charge move was always nerfed on versions developed by Toys For Bob. When Xpec made the 360/PS3/PC ports, you could hit the same enemy multiple times, which made him a superb Skylander.

I wish TFB would take a cue from Xpec, and allow Ghost Roaster's charge move hit the same enemy more than once.

This is very discouraging. I have an extensive collection and love for this game that I am becoming hesitant to share. I have been lurking around here for quite some time since being invited after winning majority of the proto auctions from glumy01. This forum seems to have a lot of disdain for GameMaster78. Why? Because of the size of his collection? Or because he shares it with us? I enjoy his collection, and everyone else's for that matter. I take it as motivation and look forward to his posts.

There will always be critics. I never take certain people here seriously, in their opinions, because I can tell the difference between trolling/flaming and genuine opinions.

I have seen certain people say I have this so called ego, and I see others who see me doing nothing but posting my collection. I have seen egos before - and dealt with egos before - but I just come to this post - mainly - to show off my collection to other fans of the series.

Glad you dig looking at my collection. I hope it continues to motivate you into sticking with this awesome - yet sometimes frustrating - franchise (frustrating in that after every Christmas it seems to get harder to find figures).

On another note, I decided to also use this topic to track a sem-blog I am going to do, for my playthrough of Giants on Nightmare, on Wii U, with fully upgraded, but at level 1.

I will state for every blog -

Skylanders used
Skylanders dead (I can no longer use them if dead)
Skylanders levels gained
Stars collected

followed by a brief description of how things went down in each level.

My goal: To beat Nightmare mode without losing a single Skylander or less than 5 (hopefully the former). I see myself maybe doing 4 entries. I am about to start now, but I was going to wait until I had Thumpback and Eyebrawl inhand, but forgot I am not allowing myself to use Giants other than to open Giant areas.

Here I go.
