Hello guys,
Just want to share my findings today - I preordered Hot Dog in GameStop and after picking it up I went to WalMart to buy some stuff.
I found both Thumpback and Eye-Brawl on the shelves. There were 3 of each of them.

They were also available at waltmart on line but now out of stock ive had enough now to be honest with the scalpers and the fact your now on to wave 3.5 or wave 4 which ever it is in the us and weve not even seen wave 3 yet in uk think il just give my son my collection

Not to start a fight here or anything, I bet that Wal-Mart probably broke the street date on their boxes. What sucks for me is, I live in a small town and they are still going thru the do not open before 10/21/12 boxes.

if its your local walmart youll have no problem. remember their policy so the serve customer first. go to the electronics manager, get the sku# of the item you need, let them check if its instore. if its instore let them look for it.

My local Wal-Mart is not very helpful. I'll just keep an eye out for them. Maybe they will be out on Sunday, as someone was told in another thread. I doubt it. But Maybe!

Let the hunt begin. Gm78 did say that Cali seems to get waves first. Too bad I need eye brawl to be at gs so I can use my giftcard

On walmart.com they have UPC as Model No.

Agreed. For popular video games and movies, there can be fines in range of $25,000 or more for breaking the street date. If the content is relevant enough, some stores will deliberately break the date just to have the notoriety of selling that item first. Once it's officially acknowleged who the offending party was, other stores are allowed to sell the item early without penalty.

Not sure if the rules are the same for a "lesser" item like Skylanders, but I wouldn't go dashing out to your local Wal*Mart tomorrow in search of either of them and expect to have any success. If there's a fine for early selling, they'll tell you they don't have them.

I'd wait until next week - or at least until a few other confirmed purchase stories from different places roll in.

These things don't have streetdates. They are considered and distributed as toys and not video games. Other than the initial release date activision has never instituted a street date and they are unlikely to. The actual company selling the toys like TRU's 10/21 and Gamestop's Scorpion Striker were imposed by the retail store. Recently remember how BestBuy had wave 3 singles out before the 10/21 date this is because there is no street date to break.

Maybe. However, TRU or Gamestop may have an exclusive on these for a few days. Therefore, you may not have a "street date" but you have a do not sell before date. I am sure that if another store has an exclusive on these even for a few days, could be an issue.

I went to GS grabbed a SS battlepack figured I would stop at walmart and found near empty shelves, at least I nabbed hot dog

We went to 4 different Walmart that said they had many on hand with those SKU numbers but when we got there...nothing! At the last Walmart, the guy checked one of the regular packs (as a hunch) and they have all the same numbers...so those SKU/UPC numbers will not help you. You would have to call and have someone check them physically or go there!

you guy's lucky,here in belgium e guy from a store say in a couple of weeks there are new figure's,and now in the most store they selling SSA figure (20 hex and warnado ect)
i think they try to sell all the old stuf before bringing the new stuf

The problem with the computer/register stopping them is that the skus are the same for other giants as far as I know. I know all the skylander ones are the same.

Put out - yes. But if I'm not mistaken, they weren't able to be purchased due to the check that their inventory systems perform.

Took my boys to check two local walmart a this morning. No dice. I did ask one of the guys about shipments and he said they don't get skylanders on weekends so if they do get new stuff it wouldn't be until Monday anyway. Oh well. We did pick up GITD sonic boom though.

I'm not a big fan of Thumpback's figure....

So is this still just ONE person in the entire country/on this board that has seen these two??? No other store ANYWHERE released them? The best thing I take out of this is that they are made and being shipped to stores so it cant be much longer till a release. I mean activision did ship these to one walmart at least... so you have to think others will start getting theres too.... Hopefully we will see them in a week or two all over the place.... I am so tempted to go run out today just to look.... although nothing online says they are out anywhere....
