My local GameStop said that their shipment got delayed because of the rain and to check back on Friday.

My GameStop isn't even open yet.

I'd wait for a call. Especially since it sounds like its preorders only. If you don't have one I doubt you'll get it today. If you do they hold it for 48 hours so there's no rush.

I preordered mine online, I didn't get an email yet

It is probably not preorder early.

I stopped at gamestop yesterday and talked to my guy this is what he said : GameStop changed the SKU numbers to a universal expansion pack SKU number instead of an individual SKU number. When they did that not all the ore orders transferred over because the system didn't recognize the change. However he put my phone number in the system and as of yesterday my pre order did show up as an order. He said two days ago only two preorders showed up and yesterday there were 11. So my guess is when they changed the numbers it screwed something up. But he said he thinks he will have SS either last night or at noon today. I think that's why the date are changing.

I hope everyone's ready for disappointment today. Not meaning to be a negative nancy about it, but a lot of people are going to finally get the clue that Gamestop isn't always a reliable source when it comes to any given situation.

Also, everyone who came up with a date of the 9th for EB and TB are going to look awfully funny.

I stopped in on Monday in hopes of putting a reservation on a second pack. I was informed that they had a conference call that informed them that they had hit their limit of pre-orders and not to take any more. The pre-order SKU was also taken out of the system. They were also told that the release date for the pack was indeed the 11th.

Well, it doesn't bother me - we will get it in the next few days most likely. Just be patient, at least we got to pre-order it, so we don't have to stalk stores trying to find it, you can go about your business until they call. I'm excited to get him too, but it will come.

Honestly, Skylanders figure releases reminds me of games back in the Genesis/SNES era - we almost NEVER got specific dates, maybe a month, if that. I remember how unusual it was when Sonic 2 was advertised on a specific day. These days, for practically every game you know the exact date months in advance and the stores get it in early so they can have it available when the store opens. Even a system launch was a big question mark, I distinctly remember hanging out at the mall the entire day on 8/23/91 because I walked in and the Babbages (one of Gamestop's previous names) manager told me their shipment of SNES systems showed up on a company system notice that morning and were due in that day (and of course it was the very LAST store in the mall to get a delivery from UPS, after 5pm). There was ZERO advance notice of it coming out then, all we had before that was "September", and pre-orders didn't exist. They got in eight of them.

Sure this sounds like "back in my day, we walked to school both ways uphill...", but you had to learn to be patient and remember that in a week or so this will be old news. Most people will have their max level Hot Dogs and be back to waiting for the next thing. There is always a next thing.

Called two Gamestop locations locally, they are both saying Friday Jan.11th. Neither store has any today, even if you pre-ordered it.

Sorry to say, but expect a lot of that today.

My guy said if they come it won't be til noon delivery anyway so....

i got him. preorder.

Seriously, though. I can't stand when people lie on this site, saying they have figures they don't.

I talked to the guy at GameStop and he was clueless. He told me that Hot Dog wasn't at that store, but it has always been out since Giants came out. Activision has included only one in every shipment and its sells quick. The best bet to get it would be anywhere but Gamestop. After he said that, I left since he had no clue that Hot Dog was supposed to be a Gamestop exclusive. Or, maybe he knew but he was messing with me. Regardless, I'll stop in at other Gamestops on Thursday and Friday.

And it starts. I didn't want to be negative about it, just realistic. If any city/state got them first from Gamestop's warehouses, it would be Oklahoma and Texas, because Gamestop's shipping warehouse is located 2 hours away from my house, in an area of Texas just north of Dallas, which is south of OKC.

And still, no stores within 100 miles of my house has it in.

Hot Dog has the disadvantage of having a name similar to Hothead. Honestly, to the uninitiated they do sound similar, and I can imagine Hothead selling quickly in the past few months.

BTW, just called my store, she said their latest information still says the 9th, but they haven't gotten their shipment for today so she isn't sure yet.

Well, called 1 store so far. Notta. Looks like today won't be the day. Calling the rest just incase, but I know what their answers will be.

True, but Hot Head hasn't been out since the Giants was released. He was in wave 2 and he is hard to find. He wasn't interested in Skylanders and didn't really know anything about it.

Actually he has in some areas.... My TRU had him on day one, when I bought the game, along with sprocket and flashwing. They had them all. At the time we didnt know he was suppose to be released the next day (Monday). My TRU just messed up. When I told everyone in line that these werent suppost to be out till wave two, they went fast and grabbed them up. I heard stories of other TRU doing the same thing..,. employees just unpacked boxes and put on the shelves... So I have had all new ones since day one ( and by new I mean characters, not reposes and lightcores). With that being said, my gamestop just opened and I will call around noon, but I dont think they will have it today... I am hopeing for tomorrow because that actually fits my schedule better... i will be out that way anyway instead of making a special trip today just to see its not there....

Officially called all Gamestops in my area and notta. Just like I had came to the conclusion of.

My gamestop in Syracuse, NY said Friday due to unforseen shipping difficulties.

Yeah, Friday will be the date, unless another messup happens.

Just called GameStop and was told my preorder should be in today and to call back in a couple of hours. I'll let you know how it goes.

Has anybody who pre-ordered online gotten a confirmation that their Scorpion Striker has shipped? I was just wondering if the changing of the SKU numbers messed up online pre-orders as well.

on the gamestop web site it now says the date is the 10th (but my gamestop when i called said it was still in there computer as coming out today and it sould be in after 1:00) tho im not holding my breth on that... my gess is ship date is the 10th will be in stores on the 11th.

Currently on hold... I feel like once I said "Pre-order" he ran away lmao.

EDIT: Oh HELL NO! He said that they got a shipment in of "bundles" so I should call back after 5pm because he still hasn't opened it yet. Then when I asked if I would get a call back after they have opened and he was like "it's better to call us because a lot of people preordered". Trashiest Pre-order I have ever done. SMH

I wouldn't bother calling back, they won't have it. Just go to Gamestop.com and type in your zipcode for the store finder of the item. Infact, I did a store finder for New York... notta, my city (midwest)... notta, and Cali... notta.

Would it show in stock if they only have enough for preorders?

lol that store finder in not reliable I used it one time for a game told me there where not any in 100 miles calld my stores and both stores had 20+ of the game went and picked up the game. cheched the site agian to see if it just had not been updated still said that no store in 100 miles had it (the site finaly updated 2 days later to say it was in stock). so i would not trust that.

well im thinking not today (none of the iphone games have gotten an update to use hot dog yet) So you cant even use him in all the games yet which might be an indication that he is not coming out today.

I have learned my leason with Gamestop per orders. i have never had any issues with them until they messed up my pre-order of lego LoTR.

Lol I was referring to my situation at least where the guy basically implied they didn't have enough stock and so I had to call back myself to see if they got it in today (it is in my edit above).

I didn't even bother saying pics or it didn't happen. I just knew for a fact he didn't.

New emails were gotten at Gamestop today, saying "delayed by the vendor" with no expected day of delivery.

They "lost" my pre-oder. i even had the receipt in hand to prove i pre-odered it. I ended up not getting hte game and getting all my money back. (i always pay off my pre-orders before they come in)

Just called my local gamestop that I preordered from and they said that its shipping today and should be in tomorrow... Just like I thought it would... so tom or friday I imagine.... no surprise here....

My GameStop said the same thing....after going there...UGH! My 5 year was very dissapointed!
