I personally like the giants game only because it's the first out of the two skylanders games I have played. I haven't played the other game so I can't really say whether or not it's better then one over. Although I can say that I personally like skylanders giants only because it is entertaining to me, I can collect more than the original 32 characters and I can play on more than one plat form so i'll have to try out the other one to see but i'm sorry you're disappointed in it.

You can play cross platform on S:SA too. Ssa had more glitches, but more levels and less extra stuff (no luck o tron,arena battles,or more than 10 winged sapphires)

Is this terrible design of Bash, or terrible design of Crusher?

To me double trouble is phenomenally overpowered with his rapid tick, autolock beam and is a prime example of a character who needs to be taken down a notch, not have characters brought to his level.

Most Giants fill in the gap that the OPed Skylanders should have been sitting behind.

Going online is just like going outside. Are there criminals everywhere outside? The same could be said for the internet.

The game is too short for me and way too easy.

They SHOULD have online play.

-PvP Battles (Random Arena)
and THESE with friends...

-Customized Skystones matches (choose where blocks and elements are)

I think they were waiting for Nintendo to get their online up to snuff. Since it IS multiplatform, and the Wii just can't handle online play like PCs, 360s, and PS3s. Now that the Wii U is here, there's no excuse for a lack of online. <.<;

Hmmm while I agree with you on some things, there are a few things I have to say no too.

1.) Guess I'm one of those gamers who is selective about what I prefer to pay online. Skylanders is one things I couldn't care less about playing online, I enjoy playing by myself or with my husband. So the online battles matters not to me. But I can see why many would be upset by the lack of it. Though lets not forget its aimed at children, so I can kinda understand why they'd not add this feature.

2.) Giants aren't really all that slow. Slower than the other skylanders but they are suppose to be :/
3.) The graphics look MUCH BETTER than the first game, but I see where somene stated its possible that you play on the Wii, so that would make some sense I suppose lol. But I noticed a huge difference in the graphics compared to the first game (Though I play on the 360)- Besides, the graphics are not what make the game. I could care less about them myself.

4.) I agree. Story could have been ALOT better. I do have to say that I do enjoy S:SA just slightly more since the storyline kept me hooked. But Giants the story does begin to lack after a while :/

5.) I find myself being able to skip stuff all the time D: Maybe a fluke? I dunno...

And with everyone else I too find his name to sound a bit inappropriate, but that could be how I'm reading it. lol.

- Not all of them. Tree with the bulldozer path is very very fast, Crusher's boulder attack is quick (but at times slow), Hot Head motorcycle form is pretty quick, and Swarm's flying is faster than most skylanders from what I've seen. That's the only 4 I got so I can't judge the others.

- I think the graphics look the same and in some areas worse. I somewhat agree with you.

- Story lacking in chapters I would say. We have less chapters in this game than the 1st one. I want to know why.

- Yeah, I don't like how some of the scenes and dialog I can't skip no more when I could've back on SSA.

Skipable dialogs is more the exception than the rule..
Maybe 10% can be skipped.. A few can be sped up by holding down X, but far from all of them..

The skip button was switched to triangle in this game - all dialogue can be skipped in the game.

Not true. Many from the story and in heroic challenges can't be skipped whatsoever which annoys me.

Regarding the graphics: I was amazed at how stunning Giants looked when playing on my PS3 and then was absolutely HORRIFIED when I went over to play it at a friend's house on their Wii. Honestly, the quality drop was quite jarring,

I agree I bought all of them and after a few playthoughs of each games I clocked it and they are just boring now but I still love my zap

15 levels is too short for ANY game. especially for one as fun as skylanders. at least make it so there is a level for every two characters.

I really hope for online play, but I think the reasons they don't include it is the same reasons I wouldn't let my kids use it.

You can't control other people. I understand this and don't allow my children to play with anyone online, simple as that. Other parents, well for lack of a better term, raise their kids by remote control. They'll sit them in front of the tv and console and then go chat on the phone or take a nap or something.

Meanwhile nefarious people or just simply greifers will chat with their children potentially upsetting them.

The result is these poor parents will attack the game (as if it isn't the parent's fault) and regardless of how frivolous, the class action suits will start. No one wants that and so...no online play.

It's a sad state of affairs and the type of culture that prohibits GOOD prizes in cereal and Cracker Jacks.

Anyway, It's annoying when Giants are slow, it'd be weird if they were quick though, but remember Sully in Monsters Inc? Pixar said he used to be slow but it made the movie slower, so they made him quicker, he's just a normal speed big guy.

Giants is a great, well-programmed game. I have not found a single glitch, and the story is pretty epic when you think about it. I do not know why you are complaining, but your opinion is your opinion, mine the same. I liked how the giants had their own cutscene plus they could crush enemies by just by WALKING. But, I will not start a fight, as I said before, your opinion is your opinion, mine the same.

I downloaded a game for PS3 just last week called Journey. Its a fun experience type game, and eventually you come across another player using the PSN. You have no idea who it is, you don't hear their voice, and you can't even see their gamertag. It's all designed to be anonymous and two players who don't know anything about each other have to work together to get through the game. It's an ingenious idea. Maybe this can be a possibility for Skylanders.

no communication at all like journey will not work in skylanders, but when it comes to games we have 'little big planet' on the ps3. there you can text, talk and even take and send pictures. it have the same age restriction as skylanders.... and a lot of kids play it... there have been no problem with that game. so if parents isnt worry about that, why should they suddenly get worried with skylanders?... dont make sense.. but it also dont make sense making skylanders that open with communication, since its a different game and dont need all that... but some sort of messaging like the ssu must be in place at least..

Perhaps they can implement something like Portals 2 has. You can mark a target, wave, and otherwise gesture with the direction pad on your controller, ("Go There", "Come Herer"), but no discrete communications.

Online play could also be restricted (in XBOX anyway) by parents from fully open to friends only to none at all.

I don't know what SSU is. Google was not my friend on this one.

SSU stood for Skylanders: Spyro's Universe, now called Skylanders: Universe, the online game of Skylanders.

From reading the posts on here I will give my thoughts on a few things.

1. Giants as being slow.... Yes, they are slow. They are GIANTS! I bet I could out run the Jolly Green Giant, because big things usually move slower. Heroic Challenges are your friend.

2. The online play. A few things play into this. The Wii not having a robust online capability really hinders this. Also, as it was said before, this game is not geared towards most of the people on here. It is geared towards the young kids.

They could do something that would not allow chat, or any typing or anything like that, but you would have people complain that they don't have this. So instead of giving us something halfway, that people will complain about, why not try and come up with something that works for everyone.

Didn't feel longer to me at all.

Chapter 1 in both games felt about the same is one example.
Chapter 13? I think... the one with Oracle in it. Felt shorter than any chapter I've played in SSA.
And Chapter 15 felt way too short.

If there was anything that gave length to Giants, it was the arenas in the chapters, but uh... fighting in the same place for a while I can't say count for me.

So I'm calling... er... don't know if I'm allowed to say that on here.

So... You are going to discredit unskippable portions of chapters just to prove your point? Lol ok, honey.

The lack of numerous glitches is probably because TFB developed the game in all console systems.

OK, without reading all the "opinions" before this. I'm going to voice mine. I was late playing skylanders. I bought the first one a month before giants was released and my fiance and i played it for hours getting all the trophies for ps3. Infact when i switched to being more of an xbox fan i re bought the first game for that system, to re play again after acomplishing 100% on the ps3 already.

Now with giants my fiance played through the story with me. But now he wont play at all, and the only reason im playing it again since beating it, is because i want the achievements. I certainly like some aspects of this game. But most levels are a repetitive pain to play through more than once. I'm 22 years old, im not 10. This would apeal to a 10 year old more than adults. where i think the first one was aimed at more age groups.

sooo with all that said...giants is the worse game of the two!
