Here is a trick I recently discovered with 2 Portals:
1. Turn game and Portals on. (One wired Portal and one Wireless.)

2. Start game.

3. Set up multiplayer.

4. Place both Portals next to each other, touching.

5. There you go! Put a 3-pack or Battle Pack across the Portals, making sure the characters are aligned. They should work.

I accidentally discovered this last night, when I was setting the game up to try two portals at once for another forumer. My wireless PS3 portal spread its signal to the unplugged unpowered 3DS portal, lighting up my Lightcore Prism Break.

Wait... Two portals work at once .

Yeah, set two of them next to each other, and only have one of them actually plugged into the console. The non-plugged one doesn't even need to be turned on.

Oh! Ok, I kind of get that now. It's not really using both portals. I've noticed it before where the portal can detect characters and power the LEDs in LightCore characters if you just hover them to the side of the portal - this is just a way so that you don't have to hold that character, it's not actually using the second portal. Try it with any surface roughly the height of a portal and it will work.

if you use two portal and have two skylanders of the same on both portal at the same time.. you may be lucky and unlock double powers.
