Nevermind, all LightCores have the same technology that make them glow when placed on the Portal of Power, both SSA and SG.

I think Aura was referencing to whether or not the character would appear in SSA - not whether they would light up on the portal or not.

Aura, if you know certain people who troll you, just ignore them. Tune them out. Only give your time to those who want to engage in a conversation that isn't based around needless mudflinging, trolling, or flaming. If this person above is one of those trolling you, just tune it out. It's only words.

ALL Lightcores light up on the portal, but what I think Aura was getting at, is that Lightcore Newlanders won't work on the first game, whether they light up or not.

When trolls have been doing berating me numerous times in the past nonstop, and nothing has been done about it (for ages in fact), it's almost hard to tune them out. When the moderators are appointed (I know not right away), all this trolling and bullying will come to an end as soon as they had started.

You know I receive a fair amount of trolling. I can tune it out. It's all about self-control. I am someone who never used to know the meaning of that term. So, if I can do it, you can too. Out of curiosity, all of you saying that the lightcores work on SSA portal, does any of you tried the PS3 portal?
None of my Giants light up on my PS3 SSA portal, neither does my cannon.
What I would like to know is IF the problem is the portal or the model of the PS3. I have the old fat PS3 with stuff on all 4 of the usb ports(maybe that might be the problem) I dont know...
Anyone here has the same problem as me?

All LightCore figures work in both SG and SSA portals, but the new Skylander LightCores won't work in the game of SSA.

I am telling you that none of my figures light up on my PS3 SSA portal. And I wanna know if anyone else had the same problem or know anything about it, so I can figure out what the problem is!

I do not think there is a problem with the figures, cause they light up just fine on the Giants Portal. And the SSA portal never had any problems...

Maybe try stronger batteries in the Portal? I use the wireless Wii portal to play Giants on Wii U and everything that is ment to light up, lights up. I use the most powerful rechargeable batteries I have (2450mAh) in my Portal. It's worth a shot

i use the wired portal. it never malfunctions, like the wireless ones sometimes take some time to read the character.

I think they went wired due to the lights in certain figures. Something about draining batteries even faster than previously, if portals were wireless.

All Lightcores light up on the Portal of Power. The ones that are playable in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure do not light up in the game itself tho.

ok back to lightcores

anyway to those who also use the Ps3 SSA portal with lightcores it is that the battery powered portal does not put out enough power to handle the glowy effect.

mine doesn't like lightcores either, its not a localized problem.

It's not due to light shining through it. One could take a Lightcore Prism Break and sit it next to the portal, and it will light up. I think it's lighting up through the NFC tech, as it tells it to light up.

Some of my friends thought that the Lightcores were simply the light of the portal coming through the bottom of the figure, but that is not the case. The NFC tech is telling the figure to light up.

The portals only make the Lightcore figures light up while they're actively searching for Skylanders. If the portal is glowing because it's plugged in, but the game isn't running (or the 3DS version isn't currently connecting to the portal via infrared), the figures won't light up.
Also, every Lightcore Skylander I've tried works perfectly fine on the SSA portals for both PS3 and 3DS, as well as the GitD 3DS portal for Giants.
