I was playing as s2 terrafin and had gone up 3 levels and got two upgrades and got to silver rank. My brother came and put his s2 stump smash on the portal and then upgraded him. Then he put on s2 double trouble and it loaded and then said "there is a broken toy or a toy that does not work on the portal of power." So I took terrafin off and he went down the three levels and lost the upgrades and the rank. Did this happen to anyone else? And it's not because it didn't save.

pics or it didnt happen.

j/k

yeah, this has happened to people before. Fortunately, I have never had this problem. Be sure to take your time placing figures on and off the portal when you decide to switch. the portal will mostly get confused depending on how you place two figures on the portal for two players and switch them out at the same time. Just take your time when making switches.

Fortunately this has never happened to me, but I'm sure there are people who have experienced this...that stinks for sure. Like riverhippo said, its probably best to space out the time when taking one skylander off the portal and putting a new one on. I can imagine doing it too fast or abruptly could make it go a little nuts.

Not to that extent but sometimes when I make some coins and then remove the figure and then put it back on it will not have the amount I just made.

Example: Zap with 668 coins gets to be 794 coins, Zap gets removed and replaced, Zap gets put back on and has 668 coins. smilie

Sounds like you may have switched them too fast while the character was still being updated.

Another thing I learned from the first game (PC version), never exit the game with a Skylander on the portal, it corrupts them and causes them to give you the "broken toy" error... which I've had to fix with the 3DS game.

It's good that that you fixed your broken toy error with the 3DS game, but I suppose you didn't know that because you have the PC version of the first game you can do the "PC version trick" that fixes broken toy errors without even having to lose any money or upgrades from that Skylander in the first place. (Look it up!)

For me I got my S1 Gill Grunt his final quest "75000 elemental damage", level 15 (also got the accolade), and 6,000 gold. Then I go to story mode and it says the figure is broken. Everything got reset and I had to fight my Hot Head for 10 more matches. So annoying, and the wired thing is once I got him back to gold rank he only had 3,000 and is still lvl 14???

Good to know. I wonder if Skylander Giants on consoles knows how to fix them now... I've never had one mess up with the console version of the games.

How do you "fix a broken toy"? I've never seen anything about it, and I want to know in case one of mine "breaks".
