Eye Brawl is gonna have a crappy eye, not to mention it's an early production. Later ones will have better paint jobs.

People are going by several factors: The look, the concept, the videos of gameplay released by activision. Those help people not only get excited for new waves, but also get an emotional attachment to certain ones. It's marketing. When emotions get involved, logic takes a back seat. Otherwise, why would you buy a plastic figure right away that may cost less later? We all know that we are excited about the game, and that there are alot of people like us who'll rush over there to get them. That makes demand high, and adds stress to fans, who just want them period. We all know how crappy it is to go to a bunch of stores cuz they're hard to find. Fighting on the net is easier than in person. We don't have to meet the person and see them as they are, so they become the "big boogidy-man" in our minds. We can merrily shank eachother online without seeing the consequences of our actions. It can give us "relief" from the stress activision has instilled in us to make us want their plastic crack. If we get the responses we want, it gives us a "reward" in or brain...forgot what the chemical is called. Anyway, it's a form of "fun" for some people aka trolls to cause as much mayhem as possible. They use the emotions of otherwise reasonable people and sick them on other otherwise reasonable people by making them feel their precious is threatened. Finally, Wham-shell may have come out, but it's been a sore point for some since they had no luck in getting one up to now. Hopefully, every figure will be easier to get than wham-shell. EVERY one, not just my personal faves.

Anyways back on topic, I think that Wham shell fell victim to the TRU castle partly. Also, they just decided to keep him rare for some reason. I think it was to draw out the game until giants was released. Let that be a warning to the people who wan't all giants now.

Well, we've seen a similar problem with Hot Head, and he was used in a Frito-Lay promo. Considering that Wham-shell is supposed to be exclusive to that castle thingy, and since they get the lion's share of skylanders in the us, TRU probably has been keeping him "rare" artificially. Once they sell enough of the castles, suddenly we'll see an influx of wham-shells in TRUs. I wish the companies would learn their lesson and come up with worthwhile special accessories instead of that stupid castle....wham-shell could be with...hmmm...a release of any backstock Volcanic Vaults, or some such. Not with that high a price though.

You still looking for him Lurk? I would check again as I checked on Thursday and was able to find 5 or 6 at a TRU on the shelf. Not the cases either.

I agree. I was lucky finding him at a Wal-Mart this past summer. I wish I could find an volcanic vault without having to pay an arm and three toes on Ebay.

When SSA came out, I got the starter for my bf. At first, I was thinking I could share figs with my bf, but then I realized we have different ideas of what paths and gamestyle we want a fig to use, so I actually got myself a copy at bestbuy. It was the time we'd just found out they had the exclusive so I was very happy! Even verified it in-store with an employee's help!

Er....went off-topic sorry! I'll be calling gs on monday about any possible new wave...this really does wear on the mind though. Hopfully they can tell between figs or at least read the box!

As far as Gamestop, I think the only thing they can tell is if the have figures coming in. They can't tell which ones they are going to be. I still bet that TRU is going to have the giants first. They usually get atleast a few days head start on everyone else.

Oh I know they can't officially say much, but an official-looking box with a date scrawled on it should give us SOMETHING! After all, regular boxes don't have a "don't open till.." label. And some of them like to check inside first to confirm what's in them and tell us.

True, probably not, but since my local TRU doesn't have them, I wanted to check just in case they get anything. You just never know sometimes. I get the feeling the special varients we all wanted to know about are gonna also be a mystery until the day they come in, possibly as an exclusive. You know, Polar Whirlwind and such.

Yeah, I think so. I doubt they are rare as the glitter or stone ones though. As they Polar and Jade are listed in the guide.

I was just at Gamestop. I asked if they were expecting anything else on the 9th with the SS Battle Pack and they said no. They didn't know when they were getting in new Giants, but I haven't even seen wave 3 there yet.

I saw Eruptor and Prism Break at a Gamestop this last week.

With gs, if they get anything new, it's gone within the hour. At least, for my area. THat's why it's nice when they do actually hold a couple for you, but most stores won't. I know a few that do though, but...if they don't get stock, they can't do it.

Yeah. I find gamestops are hit and miss as far as customer service. I will only go to certain ones. Also, I can see why they may not want to hold something as it can create a bad situation sometimes.

O.o I thought they only did that at Walmart! Seriously...I only ever hear of violence either during lback friday, or just generally any day Walmart. There's some creepy stuff that goes on there, so a friend of mine told me. He worked there and he hated it.

True. There's a video of a lady pepper spraying alot of people to keep them away from something she wanted to buy on black friday. If I'd been the clerk at that store and seen that, I'd say "No lady you can't buy that. You assaulted people, so please have a nice chat with the police! kthxbye".

I'm lucky I guess. I never see anything worse than verbal abuse at stores near me. Can you imagine the embarassing conversation in jail? "Hey what are you in for?" "Oh...got in a fist fight over a plastic figure" "..." "No seriously..." "I WAS serious.....I still don't have them all!!" *sniff* I could never get in a fight over these. I'm one of the people who, when wave 1 came out, helped a mom find some of figs her son made a list for. She really had no idea what was what. I think it's especially hard for parents who just aren't into these sorts of things. they try to grab up what's there, but if they bring home a duplicate or something, it can be a drag.

I think a good ad they should've done for the holidays would've been to have a kid working on an ipad secretly, then hand it to the parent. The parent opens the file their kid made and it shows pics of Skylanders so they can compare instead of just guessing. It would've been cute. And why not do it, with all those tablets they've been advertising??

There's no "calm down" to it. You sounded like you were complaining about the design of the figure and I'm asking where the problem lies. The figures in the auction look just like the ones in all the stock photos.

Just for the record, what you're looking at on those auctions is one that didn't work properly. If you read the description, the figure isn't recognized on the portal. THAT'S why it's a reject. And RFID chips should be easily fixed, so it's probably a good guess that it's stolen.
None of the Giants have a round base so far. There was nothing wrong with Eye Brawl's eye. And the chain isn't supposed to wrap around Thumpback...the end hangs down to the base. The chains on his back are part of his armor. These were not the reasons it was a "factory reject".

Who cares. We'll get em all eventually....

TRU does not make anything "artifically rare" in anyway shape or form. They make no $ if they keep the stock in the back room in boxes. I have routinely repacked bouncers just to put out more crushers. If you have been in a TRU lately, you know damn well there is no problem stocking a Bouncer.

Hell, the TRU i used to work at had the original legendary trio on the shelf. Heh, thats another $10!

I also know that TRU ordered over 4600 cases of the S:SA original singles and in each case is a Wham-Shell. I did my best to ensure that he landed at the front of as many peg hooks as I could manage. Whenever single stock was low, i made sure to open those cases as opposed to the other cases that had 2x hex, 2x drill sgt., and 2x chop.
