As for me, I'm not usually one for strategy games but I really like Skystones! It's good at making you think and plan.

I think Skystones is pretty fun. I wish you could win gold after playing a match but, at least you can use it when you don't have your Giants to do 'feats of strength' and break walls without a bomb.

My friend made a very valid point, why don't you just kill the pirates like the other enemies? why do you have to play they're card game?

Huh?? You never get gold after matches? Play everyone like 3 times, not just once.

I don't really care for it. It breaks up the action more than I'd like, and the game itself just progresses too slowly, even with skipping animations. It's a bummer replaying some of the levels where it's necessary to progress by playing a game of Skystones.

I hated it because I was trying not to play it at all, mainly cuz I had sucky stones, but now I haves solid deck, so it's not as bad

It's ok. It a fun game but I wish there was an ability to skip the required matches when you are replaying them. Does anyone know if time still runs while playing a match? I wish like you could control the creature on the stones to keep the action going. That's just me though, and chances are they will take it out of the game in skylanders 3.

I like Skystones! I wish you could play localy against real players.

A lot better than Pirate Cards at least. Then again, I never was a fan of Concentration games.

This. The playing field is too small to make the game interesting, in my opinion.

If they had a mode where you were playing on a 4x4 Grid, there was always at least one elemental square on it, and you were limited to a maximum number of total "arrow points" between the eight stones you brought with you, the game would be more interesting - and a lot more of a mental headache!

Right now, as long as you have 'high level' stones you'll rarely lose against the dumb-as-a-brick virtual opponent.

I was also wondering if the Chapter's clock still runs while you're in a Skystones game. I just try to play as fast as I can while trying to complete the Objective just in case, lol.

I like Skystones and I think it's a great addition to the Giants title. Definitely more fun and interesting than Pirate Cards. Also the fact that you can obtain, purchase and collect new Stones to improve your hand (or deck) is pretty cool too. It gives you something extra to do within the game. I used to be a competitive card game player (Magic: The Gathering, Naruto CCG, Pokémon TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Redakai, etc.) so I feel right at home. I wished they'd given you an option to disable the animation for overtaking a Stone, rather than me having to mash the Skip button all the time. I'm sure Skystones will be included in a third Skylanders title if it ever comes out, and I'm sure they'll make it faster and hopefully include an option to disable animations, similar to how they've improved and increased the speed of the lock puzzles and Pirate Cards in Giants.

I'm actually surprised they didn't even at least include a mode where you could play Skystones against a friend offline who has a Skylanders Giants save file of his / her own. And if they ever decide to finally add online gameplay, they should totally add some sort of online mode for Skystones where you could play against people online and maybe unlock / trade Stones. They don't even have to enable a mic / chat feature if they really want to prevent kids from talking to random strangers.

Skystones is a good side game but its really easy the only hard match in the game is quigley but for that all you have to get is the conquertron and you are done also I have all 80 stones

I went searching for a thread like this to necro rather than recreating this topic.

I think that Skystones is a great mini game on it's own and I really appreciate the creativity of putting something like this in the game over that lame Pirate Card game that was in Spyro's Adventures.

I enjoy it so much that I'm wondering if they shouldn't make tiles that can be purchased and make a CCG out of this simple fun game.

This right here. I played Tetra Master in 9 so much it made skystones a pinch. It really is Tetra Master.

It's alright. It can get annoying but it isn't that bad.

If you buy the Concatron (I know I spelled the wrong) in either level 15 or 16 and go back and play him you should be able to beat him 5-4.

I love skystones. but they are kinda boring..

I love Skystones even though I once had to use the cheat.

I hate how they used the Pirate Seas soundtrack. But it's a nice game.

It's really cool game to have. If you Have the Conquertron, you have won for the rest of the time you play the game.

I know how to beat quigly without the conquertron. You need gargantula and 4 skystones that has 3 spikes on at least 1 edge like chompybot 9000 6 or Mohawk Cyclopes 4

I enjoy it, but I do wish they would have took the idea and made it into something to sell separate instead of the trading cards that we were given with Giants.

i think skystone was a great idea and it works great with the upgrade system in game....... but with like everything skylanders,,, after you done and finished... its totally useless even with all skystones.... if it have had a an online feature.. then you could play the game and hunt for new skystone and fight other online players.... its just common sense, it would bring moire playability.... but as usually activision and bobby dont see it. that way... so we are stuck with an half arse idea.

Sit around and fight Quigley and you slowly will get more disappointed...


Anyway, yea, I like it. Pretty cool. Just need to get that Conquertron!

Yes, that and some strategy will do it.

Incidentally, I'm sure they're planning to bring out a physical version of Skystones, more plastic crack for everyone to collect!
