Yeah Gamestop has been about the only place I've seen since after X-mas that has anything worth nothing
;
Though I haven't extensively gone to any walmart - I have most everything from W1 2 and 3 atm aside from a couple variants and with the lack of shipments comming into store can't find the urge to go digging for Stone/Glitters
Quote: minecrafterLOL i remember. christmas eve, i was going to TRU and when i went to
A skylanders section (3 of them) i saw skylanders on the floor kids digging throught the shelves. they had a LARGE amount. they probs knew that it would be "cray cray" there and there it was.... were my eyes decieving me? I SAW A WHAMSHELL IN A SINGLE PACK! on the top row and at the very back, clever TRU employee whos trying to buy that for ebay/his or her kid/thereself/exc. funny, i only found s.2.
&
tops.............................................. i would say atleast 500 - 600 people were there but still every damn skylanders were on the floor
increased 4 now but will decreased like next month and your right about the thing about double the skylander hunting
Wait wut...why would a TRU employee hide it anywhere on the floor...they could just put it behind the counter or lock it in their back room to "Hold" until they get off the clock.
When I got my MASS shipment of W6 and W7 SSA I held Whamshell and Voodood for myself until pay day - granted we had plenty of them to go around at the time.

Since TRU doesn't track the waves at all my DC could show hundreds and thousands of Skylanders under the same sku and it could be any amalgamation of W1, W2, and W3
Um... Does that mean that TRU can't track certain Skylanders because they all have the same ID or something? A worker at my TRU told me that and when I read this that popped up into my mind.
Bingo. The only place that sorts them by individual UPC ((each skylander has their own)) is the Online Warehouse which has no direct connection to any-stores other than ship-to-store which they won't do with Skylanders.
Reason being is it could get pretty confusing since once it reaches the store it's identified by the "SKU" of the item which is TRU's six-digit number they assign to items.
There are exceptions to the rule. When you see a tag that reads "EX ect ect..." that EX = Exclusive. This denotes things such as the Legendaries and Blue Bash. IF they have a SKU for it they can check on TRU exclusives. However if you're looking for say a plain-jane Flashwing then most employees will walk over to the display check a couple pegs and come back with their answer.
Sometimes you'll get a nice one or catch them at a slow time and they might go looking through the boxes for you depending on the size of the stock. This can get pretty rare as after holidays they tend to only place one person back in the electronics area at a time and they can't disappear to search through boxes for 20-minutes.
tl;dr
You're general assumption is correct. Generic singles/triples/giants are all added under the same "SKU" number and therefore becomes impossible for the general TRU employee to sift through. The catch being that your receipt WILL show the UPC for the figure you bought - so attempting a return of a different figure is "technically" impossible but they don't check half the time.
