Why was Cynder a new single before him? Eruptor and PB came, why not him?

It's all marketing. You have to spread out the more redundant and more popular figures to increase sales. If they released the 4 most popular giants right off the bat, their overall sales would go down. All these people wanting Thumpback guarantees that not only will they sell a bunch when he is finally released, but also will sell other figures that individuals might have otherwise passed on when they go to pick up their Thumpback.
So all releases were pre-planned. They thought they could get more sucker sales off of an individual Cynder (which I guarantee more of the cynders sold were to collectors and not families needing their first series 2 Cynder), and Drobot had more individual pull. That's why you are writing this complaint because you want him. So you will go to the store just to get him, while you more then likely would not have budged from your chair to get a Cynder. Strategy, strategy, strategy. That's the answer to 90% of the complaint type questions.

The originals had vastly different numbers made of each figure. Stealth Elf and Drobot were thought to be more popular ( which they were) so they sure it was very easy to get them. How many people say they thought Voodood was super generic yet how many did you see on the shelves? Low number because of low overall interest.

They have no intentions of selling Stealth Elf and Drobot in the same wave, they both sell too much so no reason too.

Plenty of Light Core Drobots still to sell. We're lucky we got Eruptor and Prism Break's re-poses this wave to be honest. I'd have expected them not to undercut their own profits like that, but all the same, I'm quite happy to have the new figures anyway.
I expect Drobot to come out in the last wave, honestly. I would bet on Spyro and Wrecking Ball ahead of him. |
